I have a Verizon iphone 5 that won't switch from WiFi to LTE, I'm running IOS 6.1.3

It will only recognize the LTE network after I power down and restart the phone. Anybody have a fix for this?

I am having the exact same issue. Say I restart my phone fresh with Data on. It will connect that one time. The next time I turn it off to use WiFi and turn it back on, LTE will come up but Im unable to use it. It acts as if there is no connection there. The only way to use my data again is to restart my phone, which is a huge problem when I need Data right then and there. It seems only when I turn on Wifi does my LTE not work anymore. I am running iOS 6.1.3. Maybe it is because Im using a backup from my old( really old ) jailbroken iPod Touch 4th gen. Im going to try to restore it to 6.1.4 today without using a backup. Ill see how it goes. I would like to keep all my photos and every so I have no idea how to do this. Any help with either issue is appreciated, thanks.

I had the same problem. Upgraded from a 4s to a 6 and got a new SIM card. Try resetting the network settings; it will restart automatically. If you don't have LTE a few minutes after it restarts, call your provider. I have AT&T; they had to send a network reset from their end to get LTE to connect.

Throw any files which contain sensitive data into the Trash and securely empty it, then use a Mac OS X install DVD to erase the internal drive. If you use it to install an OS, include that DVD with the computer. If you choose to leave the drive blank or reload the original OS, include the computer's original disks with it.

Seems like people having this problem are those coming from a phone that doesn't have a nano SIM card...so when Verizon issues them one they end up changing their plan. No clue why this keeps happening but stay on top of them. As long as you initiated the request for your plan to be reinstated within the 14 day time frame they should put it back. Interested in seeing how this plays out. There is still one phone in my house that hasn't been upgraded (an iPhone 4). Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears? If that doesn't work, try resetting the network settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.
If that fails, you may possibly have damaged the SIM. Verizon will need to give you a new one.

Not true. Verizon no longer carrier locks it's phones. The iphone 5 is the first model with bands for domestic GSM included in its firmware.

Yes it is done through iTunes. The iPhone will never show up in Finder as a device.
