I have a virus within my email how do I fix it

I have a virus within my email on my iPad how can I fix this.

There is no anti-virus for the iPad because, as of now, there is no known virus. It's not the machine itself that's infected but, in this case, the webmail/mailbox that's infected. Very possibly the mail server the ISP uses.
iOS is its own separate operating system. Stuff that runs on PC's won't run on Macs and won't run on OS....in fact none of them will run on each other. You can't put a mac program on a PC and you can't run an App on a Mac.
However, while they can't get viruses, malware and browser hijacks do seem to happen. get a cookie from a 'naughty' place on your device and you'll be served ads that come from that 'naughty' place. they are also just as vulnerable to sites being hacked as any browser (such as a recent example of people that'd use google but instead of getting results for....Gardening for example, all the results would be directed towards virus and malware sites. It's not the iPad that was hacked, it's the google page.)
In the case cited above there is likely nothing wrong in the iPad itself, but a mail sitting on a mail server was able to make things happen.
Likely as more and more users catch onto popular virus techniques (like that pesky e-mail lotto promising me millions or that poor Nigerian Prince that's STILL trying to give me his money), the miscreants keep coming up with other ways to spread their junk.  And that other way very well could be unopened mail or unopened attachments maliciously 'zombieing' a mailbox.
For the OP, delete the mail from your device, choose to delete it from the server (depends on if you have your mail set up to delete from server when deleted from device or if it just sits out there until you delete it with your computer) and you should be okay.
This is kinda of when using pure webmail can be a good thing. For example I use Yahoo. I dont' pay for the pop 3 version so I dont' download anything. My mail stays out on yahoo's servers and there's nothing on my computer. I do, apparently, download it onto the iPad, but most of the bad things stay in my spam folder that don't download. My PC is a bit safer because those attachments are never downloaded. If I wanted to do the same with my iPad, then I'd not use the mail app, I'd only access Yahoo via the web and I'd never download anything.
So, you really can't (as of now and as of anyone knowing) get a virus ON your iPad. But things accessed by it are just as vulnerable as anything else.

  • Do I have a virus in my email?

Do I have a virus in my email?
A mail message I forwarded to a friend with a Mac contained a warning that stated: "is a web application which is attached to a mail message. Are you sure you want to open it? ATT53556133.HTM" She didn't open it. The message I forwarded did not have any attachments to it except my logo.
I also sent a regular mail message to another friend (Windows user) where the body of the message was delivered blank. When I checked in my send box, the message I sent did, indeed, have words written in the body of the message so I know I didn't make the mistake of sending a blank email.
Recently, I sent a mail to someone using Hotmail. The message came back to me as undeliverable because Hotmail was showing 'name mining behavior'.
Putting these three things together in the space of two days, makes me wonder if I have a virus. If so, what do I do about it?
Thanks to anyone who can help!

If you compose a message as Rich Text, some receiving email applications will show that text as an HTML attachment rather than showing the text as part of the body. This will always happen if the receiving email app can't handle HTML messages. For best compatibility, set the Mail Composing preferences to compose messages as Plain Text.
And no, you almost certainly don't have a virus. There have to date been no confirmed reports of a true virus or worm infecting Mac OS X other than the Word Macro virus that could infect early versions of Microsoft Word for Mac.

    You don't.
Slideshows are exported as movies and these are very large files. Email is not an appropriate medium for very large files as they can cause immense issues for the receiver.
Better to share some other way.

  • Receiving pop ups to secure my files and when I log into any website i get directed to a site with a pop up regarding security.  I assume I have a virus and not sure how to fix it

I am receiving pop ups to security sites to secure my files etc.  I assume I have a virus but not sure how to fix it.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

As I said in the other thread that you posted in the other forum, your friend clearly has not restored the iPad correctly. I suggest that you undertake another restore and start again.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Given what you've have described, your friend cannot have restored the iPad correctly. You need to decide whether you are willing to delete his contacts manually, or carry out another restore. Personally I think I would go for the restore.

Hi. Unfortunately my ethernet card was not working anymore. This is the message "This computer does not appear to have any PCI Ethernet card. How can I fix it?

i would try an SMC reset, the following article tells how to do this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
if it still gives that message, you need to take it to apple store or apple service provider to have a new card installed. the apple site gives listings of providers and stores in your area:

Can't get Mail to work - I get the spinning wheel and Mail freezes.  I have to Force Quit Mail .  How do I fix this problem?

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Why does my iphoto seem to get "stuck" a lot of the times when I try to exit it to the point where I have to "force quit" it and how do I fix the problem that causes it?

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
does this only happen when you try to quit iPhoto?
    what fixes have you tried?
    where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You could simply ensure that only the numbers and addresses you wish to use on each device are checked at Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. However this isn’t an ideal solution because the other person can always change these settings from their device and have some fun with you and your contacts.
You’d be far better getting them to delete your account from their device and have them create one of their own. If you are sharing an ID for some other service such as iTunes, you can continue to do so, you only need change the ID for messages.

When I try to load an update for aperture 3.0,  I get an error message " you need 3.0 or later loaded".  I have V3.1.2 loaded.  How can I fix this?
    Thanks

Is your Aperture application installed in your "Applications" folder, or did you move it to a subfolder? If you moved it, put it back into the "Applications" folder. Also check the name. If you renamed it, change the name back again to simply "Aperture" without any additions. Otherwise will the updater not recognize your current installation.

  • My IPad will not flip , I have to physically turn it. How do I fix this?

I have to physically turn it. How do I fix it?

Usually  by turning the Orientation Lock off. How you do that depends on which OS you have installed, mostly ... start by doing a quick double-tap on the Home button, see the Recents Tray appear on the bottom of the screen, then scroll that tray sideways to reveal the controls. Orientation Lock will be on the left hand side, and will display a lock in it if it's locked.
Tap it, then tap anywhere else to close the tray, and you're done.
If it didn't work, report back here in this thread with what you saw happen instead.
