You can't write to it because it's formatted as NTFS which OS X will read but not write to. If you want to continue using the drive with both a PC and OS X you will need to download and install NTFS-3G so you can then write to it from your Mac. You can get NTFS-3G at:

If you want to use the drive exclusively with your Mac then move the data off it and reformat it in Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utilities) as Mac OS Extended (Journaled.)

To keep from losing purchases you will both need to continue sharing the Apple ID for purchases.
I would reccommend you both create new Apple IDs for iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime and keep the current one to share purchases in the iTunes & App Stores.

Settings > Messages

If you can restore to factory settings, you can then purchase iTunes media and sync your own photos.

Some commercial DVDs have the ability to purchase straight off of them through the iTunes store. But you must purchase the boxed set for those DVDs to obtain the registration code for purchase. They provide a link straight from the DVD. But otherwise, as Niel says you are basically stuck legally with only being able to make iTunes capable files from your own home made videos. Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them, and all future updates will require you to enter the password associated with this ID, whether you are currently using this ID for purchases or not. If you are being prompted for your sister-in-law's Apple ID when updating it means that there must be one or more apps on your phone that was purchased using her Apple ID. (When she synced with your computer it may have transferred this app to your library. It was subsequently synced to your phone.) The only way to stop the prompt for her ID is to delete these apps from your phone and your iTunes library and repurchase them using your Apple ID.

You need to log in to Adobe.com & download the app from the desktop icon.
You can follow Creative Cloud Help | Install, update, or uninstall apps . One Creative cloud allows you to actibvate twice.

I have an Ipod with alot of music on it that i have had for a while. The PC i used to sync it to crashed and i lost my itunes library. I now have a new PC and have already started loading new music onto it. I now realize that the music that is on my Ipod is not on the PC yet. I would like to know how to merge my ipod with the old music onto the new PC with the new music. When i pluged it in Itues said it would erase the ipod and replace it with what is now on the PC and of course i said no. So i now have two different libraries and would like to only have one made up of both. Any help?
