I have a whitemacbook 13-inch 2010 model. The hard drive crashed right before my final was due. It was not Photoshop, although 2 GB was not near enough to run it, but a corrupted file on the hard drive. should i get a new hard drive, or a new computer?

I have a limited budget. should I just replace the hard drive and get more RAM, and keep it going for
2-3 years? (this was a suggestion from the tech guy at school) or go ahead and buy a mac mini to get me through school? Or splurge and get a new iMac? I dont want to invest too much too soon due to the law of obsoletion, and of course my limited finances.

No Play Store, sounds like no fun! Let's get this fixed! I would recommend trying the store in safe mode first. If that doesn't work a hard reset would be the next step. Here are the steps for both:

I find the easiest way to install Adobe Flash is to use the manual installers. You just need to download the installer to your computer, then run it to install Flash. For more details see http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main_ManualInstaller
That link states you should uninstall earlier versions, as you don't have the version of Flash used by Firefox you can skip that step.

Does not start, but when I shut down the computer then the browser shows up right before sytem shuts down.

I am having problems with Firefox. When I click on the shortcut, or the .exe file nothing happens. I check task manager to see if it is running and it does not show Firefox is running.

Hi, are you saying that you start Firefox and it stalls -- you can see it in the Task Manager but it never displays -- but if you kill that process and start Firefox again it starts up properly that second time?
If you look at the statistics available in the Task Manager's processes tab such as bytes read or other bytes, can you see whether Firefox is doing anything at all? ''Note: You might need to add columns if your Processes tab isn't set up to display statistics. You can do that from the View menu.''

Should I get a SATA hard drive?

I am about to mod my Xbox, and I am going to buy a new hard drive, but what I was thinking was that I could use my current 160 gig IDe drive and upgrade to a SATA drive.
Is there any problem with using just one SATA hard drive with my current setup?

To answer your question: No there is no problem using a SATA drive with your setup. Indeed SATA is one of the features of this mobo so if you can use it. You don't list your PSU so I do not know whether your PSU has SATA power connectors, either way you should get a molex to sata convertor cable with your sata drive.

Corrupted file in the applications folder and i cant get in

I have a half uncompress file in the applications folder and it wont let me in to that folder, not even as a root user, it just closes the folder and opens desktop instead, everything else is working fine now, i hope i just need to delete that file. (all this is happening in my imac 27" late 2011 mountain lion)

Iphoto told me to restore from back up due to corrupt file. When I restore it, it gets all the way to the end and then it tells me it needs to be restored. HELP!

I restored it again last night. After the restore I have 52 GB left of space. The library is 71 GB. I opened iphoto and it says there are inconsistencies and it needs to repair. It is doing the repair now. What usually happens is that it does the repair and then starts the rebuild thumbnail part and gets to the very end of that before failing

How does a corrupted file affect the vault update?

If I would have updated the vault after the files got corrupted, wouldn't the corruption get updated as well? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose?

I believe it's meant to only copy files that it knows have changed.
I.e. old masters wouldn't get re-copied, but version updates, metadata changes, new imported masters would.
Of course, many people here reported having a lot of problems with the Vault mechanism in version 1, but others seem to have no problem at all (suggesting a subtle system configuration difference.)

Ive just upgraded to ilife 09, and am having trouble with uploading. I didnt ever have this problem before the upgrade.
The site uploads fine, but once its done it doesnt turn the library files on the lefrt green. Meaning, everytime i do a minor update on the site it repackages and uploads the entire site again making it very hard to update my site
I have manually deleted my entire site off my idisk and tried uploading again to no avail
Any help would be supa dupa!

By url's, do you mean iWeb url's? They should work if you have named your sites differently. If you have not, then they will override each other. Look at your sites - http://web.me.com/username/sitename.
If you mean domain names linked to your MobileMe account, then how many do you have and how are they forwarded? You can only have one CNAME per MMe account and all the rest must be forwarded using web forwarding with or without masking.
A little more info would be helpful.
