I have a wifi connection but cannot connect to the internet

I am in France on vacation. My iPhone connects just fine but not my iPad. Wireless shows full strength on both but no Internet on iPad only. Already reset network connections and tried to forget network and try again. No luck.

Hi Anne,
Your version of Safari is still supported. Please see Adobe Flash Player | Tech specs for supported OS and browsers.
If the Flash Player plugin is in the Plug-ins (disabled) folder it's because it's an older version that Apple has disabled in Safari. This has nothing to do with whether or not Flash Player supports the browser.
I'm not sure what you mean by "when i click on flash player itself i am told there is no application to open it." Flash Player.plugin only works in the browser to view Flash content in the browser. The plugin does not open files outside of the browser. If you have SWF files you'd like to view outside of the browser, then you'll need the Flash Player projector. However, based on your previous comments this doesn't appear to be what you are trying to do.
Google Chrome does embed Flash Player in it, while Firefox does not. Mozilla has also recently started blocking older versions of Flash Player in Firefox similar to what Apple is doing in Safari.
Following the 'clean install' instructions should result in you having the latest version of Flash Player installed that will not be blocked by the browser.

My wife bought me an Ipod touch. This is a long time ago, because I cannot use it with my wi-fi connection home. I took it with me to my parents, and it worked without any problems there. I took it with me to my place, and I got the same problems.
It says that I got connection and I have the Wi-fi connection icon, but I'm not connected to the net.
I've tried to connect many times. I've deleted and restarted the thing. I've looked at the IP adress, and it started with 169. I've tried to look at this discussion board, but haven't found any help.
I'm getting quite desperate, and I would like to get some help. Since I am quite a beginner, I would like a simple answer:) But any help will do great.

I've looked at the IP adress, and it started with 169.
This means you aren't actually connected to the Internet; only to your router.
An easy first attempt at a fix is to turn your router off and then on again.

I cannot send iMessages to some ppl who have an iPhone connected to the internet

My iPhone is not recognizing some other iPhones connected to the internet among my contacts. Hence we cannot use iMessages, e en though their iMessage option is switched on in the settings. In other cases i can send iMessages using their apple ID instead of their number. it is a bit complicated.
Any ideas?

Yes, The phone needs an active data connection, either through WiFi or Cellular data.

Unable to have wireless computers connect to the internet

After a lot of problems with Time Warner Cable, being denied the ability to forward my ports so that people could connect to me for multiplayer video games and having a monthly fee for using their modem/router being tacked on being the breaking point, I bought my own modem and router - a Motorola SB6121 and a Linksys E1200 Router.
After a lot of grief with TWC setting up the modem, I'm ready to set up the router. The problem is, once I did that, nothing got an internet connection. My desktop couldn't get internet access, and although they were able to connect to the router, neither could any wireless devices. I unhook the router and try it all again, and then only one wireless device gets wireless internet access while everything else suffers without internet. A third time and the desktop has access, but nothing gets wireless past local access. At this point, I can't even get into the router with the standard 192.168.1.1 login address to change anything and I'm at an impass.
Any help would be appreciated, because I'm getting exhausted by this.

If you have tried the setup disk that came with the router but failed to get the internet to work, install the router manually. You plug-in the computer to the router that was used to establish the internet access when plugged-in to your new modem. You open the router’s page: http://192.168.1.1 and click MAC Address Clone under the Setup tab. Enable and click the clone my PC’s MAC option from there and click Save Settings at the bottom of the page. You go to the Status tab after that and check if there is an Internet IP Address. You may need to power down the router and modem for 30 seconds as well. You may refer to this link I found from Cisco’s KB site: Setting up a Linksys router with Cable Internet service.

Connected to router but cannot get on the internet

I have connected my sons laptop to home hub 3 and it is showing connected to router but when we try to connect toonternet we get error message,have tried connecting to lots of different web pages without any joy.
Laptop will connectto other wireless when we are not at home. Really not sure where we are going wrong.

Couple of things to check:
1) Are you using the wireless passkey that is on the Homehub label to log on with?
2) It could be that your computer has IPv6 selected. Try disconnecting it as follows:
Select Start
In the search field type.ncpa.cpl and press enter.
In the new window right click on your wireless network connection and select properties
In “This connection uses the following items” section remove the tick beside Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) then press OK
Left click on Internet Protocol IPv4, click properties . Check the options to obtain IP addres and DNS server address automatically.
Once done try and connect to internet.

BB CURVE 8520 can connect to WiFi network but will not browse the internet

I am with ROGERS service provider. They have not been very helpful with my issue.
All they try and do is sell me a data plan.

I should be able to connect to a WiFi network and access the internet without paying any crooks to do so shouldn't I? Can someone tell me how I can do it?

Please be aware of the movie rental's time limitation that you have 30 days from the time of rental to watch your movie, and once you start watching it, you have 24 hours to finish watching it. You may watch it as many times as you like during those 24 hours. It may be helpful to make sure the download completes successfully before you begin watching the movie.
Once the download is complete you can watch it without an Internet connection. However, an Internet connection to the iTunes Store is required to authorize playback or activate the 24 hours time-limit of movie rentals. This means, only during the starting of the movie. Once you have started playing the movie rental, internet connection is not required. You can play anywhere without internet connection.
You may need to validate the rental prior to watching so it starts the rental period timer and for that you will need an internet connection. You can probably do that by starting the rented movie while on the Airport Wifi or right before leaving home. You'll have 24 hours to watch the movie after you start it.

How do i send to a wireless printer when I have a cable connection to the internet? I have wireless

I want to send to my secretary's wireless printer, but I have an ethernet cable connecting my computer to the internet. Can I have both an internet and wireless connection so I can use the wireless network to send to her printer?

Is your computer connected to the same local network as your secretary's? If you have a router that provides both the wireless and wired network access for your business it should be possibe to access the printer wirelessly. In my setup here I have a combination of wired and wireless computers accessing a couple of wireless printers as well as three on the wired network. You may need to configure your router to allow the wored and wireless segments to communicate through your router. I will move this post to the Printer Networking and Wireless forum for better responses.
It would probably help to give some details of the printer model as well as the details of your router and woreless connections.
