I have accidentally deleted the iPhoto app. Help

I have accidentally deleted the iPhoto app that came installed on my macbook pro.
I didn't get a disc when I purchased the laptop.
How can I get the app back for free?

I havent yet downloaded the OS X Mavericks. Do you think this will help?
You will need OS X Mavericks, but now this is not the problem.
Probably you hid iPhoto in the Mac App Store, so try to unhide it > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4928?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
If it does not show as an app to unhide, you will need to contact with the Mac App Store support > http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact
Respecting to OS X Mavericks, you will need it to download iPhoto, but first of all check if you are already using it (or not). Open  > About this Mac, and tell me which OS X version you are using

  • I have accidentally deleted the proloquotogo app with all it's data. It was on my iCloud backup list so can I know restore all the settings for this app from a previous iCloud backup? I now only have the basic pages instead of all the programmed pages.

I have accidentally deleted my proloquotogo app with all it's programmed data. Is it possible to restore from iCloud as it was listed in managing storage. Where does this backup go to? I have reinstalled the app but I only have the basic pages. Help please. Thanks

Essentially it would mean another Internet connection yes, however it's your local network that I am wondering about and whether it could be the problem.

  • I have accidently deleted the IPHoto App. I was looking for photos that were accidientrly deleted. my photos had disappeared

I have lost my photos and was looking for them on my laptop. I'm not sure what happened... but now I do not have my IPhoto application either. I looked in trash but have not found it. Now I have two problems: no app and no photos too.

    You can reinstall the app.
If your iPhoto library still exists in ~/Pictures then you have not lost anything. Just reinstall the iPhoto. If you don't have a disc it should be available in the iTunes store (Click Purchased in the Quick Links section on the right)
You can also do a Spotlight search for iPhoto just to make sure you didn't move it accidentally.

  • I accidentally deleted the iPhoto app?

I was trying to get my iphoto library onto an external drive i think its called? and then i thought i did it so i moved iphoto into the trash and emptied it and now iphoto is gone and in the app store it says its instaled and i cant find it anywhere help me please

    reinstall from the original source
    Could be
1 - the restore disks that came with the computer
    or
2 - the iLife DVD that you purchased
    or
3 - the app store - log in under the Apple id used to purchase the software or to set up the computer - look under purchases - you might have to unhide or accept the Application first

That's an App Store problem not an iPhoto one. That forum is here

but perhaps you just need to try again later, as the message says.

Help I have accidentally deleted the var folder on my mac and now it won't start up what should I do?

/var is a hidden folder, so you mustn't remove the folder.
The only solution is to reinstall OS X. If you have OS X Lion or Mountain Lion, use OS X Recovery > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
Hold Command and R keys while your MacBook is starting and reinstall OS X. You won't lose anything. If you have a backup, you can restore it after starting in OS X Recovery instead of reinstalling Mac OS X, so you will save a lot of time

    Reinstall OS X.
Reinstall Snow Leopard without erasing the drive
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Another way is to open your Time Machine back up or clone (if you have one) and copy the App Store app from the /Applications to your Macintosh HD's /Application folder.
Right click on the Time Machine icon in the Menu Bar.
Select Enter Time Machine; then navigate to a date you know it was still there and copy if from the /Applications folder.

You are running 10.6.8? If yes, I assume you have your install disks? As the trash bin is part of Mail app and that is an integral part of the OS, the only way I know to get it back is to reinstall the OS. You won't lose any files, just reinstall the OS over the top of the current system.

    Install the v10.6.7 combo update.
Mac OS X v10.6.7 Update Combo
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed.
It's ok to do this even if you are already running v10.6.7.
