Why not? If you are under warranty and/or have AppleCare, call them. Let Apple deal w/hardware problems. If you mess up, your warranty will be voided!

I guess no but they can't use it because most likely they restored it and the name of your find my iphone will disappear on your computer even if it is on because it does not have your name anymore.

I bought this iPod Touch 5th Gen on eBay recently and it just shipped to me and i found out that there is an activation lock on the iPod and i can not use it or exchange it with my Apple ID. Following the instructions on the Apple website on how to transfer music to a new computer using your iPod, it basically says that you have to hook up your iPod to your old computer. Seeing as my old computer (a PC running Vista) died a horrible death and no longer works - including the hard drive being corrupted, I cannot do this. Is there a way to sync my iPod Nanop 3rd generation to my brand new iMac without losing all my music?

My son can't remember his passcode for his iPod touch and for some reason every time I try to restore it, the software gets updated and it starts processing it then it says there was an error and to try again later. Later, it still does and says the same thing. Is there any other way to unlock it without the passcode?
The only way to clear off the passcode is to restore the device. You could always try the restore process on another computer that has iTunes just to get the iPod working again, then you could plug it back into your comptuer to sync all of his content back on the iPod.

You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them. -

The only way to get rid of the restrictions passcode is to restore the device. Why can you not restore the device. The restrictions passcode will not prevent you from restoring, only the regular 4-digit passcode to enter the phone can do that.
