  • Ihave firfoe 3.6 and I have Adobe Flash but can,t play videos.

I have windows 7 on a new HP laptop and have downloaded Firefox , Adobe Flash and Java and cant see any type of videos. Ever time I go to view a video I get the message to download Flash and Java and on video can you help me

You '''<u>have</u>''' the current version of Java installed.
*Are you sure that the message is not referring to JavaScript or Flash not being installed or enabled?
*See: [http://kb.mozillazine.org/JavaScript_is_not_Java JavaScript is not Java] *and* [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/JavaScript JavaScript]
You do NOT have Flash installed. Firefox and most other browsers use a difference version of Flash than IE's ActiveX version; see: [[ActiveX]].<br />
    '''<u>Install or Update Shockwave Flash</u>'''
*Use Firefox to Download and SAVE to your hard drive from the link in article below; '''<u>the link takes you directly to the download and you avoid the "getplus" download manager and "extras" (i.e., toolbars, virus scan links, etc.) on the main Adobe page.</u>'''
*SAVE to your Desktop so you can find it
    *After download completes, close Firefox
*Click on the file you just downloaded and install
**Note: Vista and Win7 users may need to right-click the installer downloaded and choose "Run as Administrator"
**Note: Most browsers other than IE will also get updated with this one download
**Note: To update IE, same procedure '''<u>but use IE</u>''' to go: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
*After installation, restart Firefox and check your version again.

You need to update your plugins. It is important to keep them updated due to continuing security fixes and improvements in those plug-ins:
    * Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 11.5
    * Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape "9.3.3"

#*Use Firefox to download and SAVE the installer to your hard drive from the link in the article below (Desktop is a good place so you can find it).
#*When the download is complete, exit Firefox (File > Exit)

I'm having difficulty viewing pdf documents because I'm required to download Adobe Reader.  I did download that application, but the same message recurs repeatedly.  What shall I do to resolve the problem?

You don't provide any details, but from the sound of it you are trying to open an online PDF in a browser that does not use the Adobe Reader plugin: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

Did you reinstall CS3 after CC?
For that matter, doing an in-place upgrade on the OS is always a gamble with Adobe programs. Reinstalling all the versions you need, in order, would probably solve your problem.
And you shouldn't need to save as IDML after opening the .inx in CC.

  • I play pogo games, I have the updated adobe flash player, but when I go to play a flash game FF states I don't have adobe flash player plug in, but I do have it..what do I do ?

Firefox keeps telling me I don't have adobe flash player, I do have it I just uninstalled and reinstalled it today

There are two version of Flash, ActiveX for IE and Plugin for other browsers. You need to install the Plugin version for Firefox.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />

pixelation problems occurs in my videos when using adobe flash but using chromes pepper flash no problemes so its definitely adobe problems on my WIndows 8.1

    Problem is:
Flash Player for IE11 (which is the worst browser ever developed - BAR NONE) is a Microsoft product, when it comes right down to it.
Adobe writes the base code and yes, they do collaborate on updates for it, but the gang in Redmond alter the plug-in and add "proprietary" code before embedding it, and at that point it's "their baby".
There are two (2) registry keys - 1 for 32 bit IE and the other for 64 bit IE, as well as a KB patch that prevent all but the most experienced Windows users from ever touching the Flash Player plug-in for IE. So there's NO WAY you could have done a clean install of the ActiveX plug-in in Windows 8. Unless you're an uber-geek, you can only update it through Windows Update.
WIn 8 is an abomination and IE11 made it worse. IE has always been the "problem child" of browsers, failing to handle CSS, Javascript, some PHP and most design "tweaks" that good webmasters can use with other browsers, trouble free.
I have IE8 on XP, 9 on VIsta, 11 on 7, 10 on 8 and 11 on 8.1... but they're all for testing only. I'd have to be out of my mind to ever think of using IE as my primary browser. ActiveX controls have to be disabled formost stuff and that opens millions of security holes in IE.
You've got a good video card and a decent sound card. It's a shame to waste them on a pile of garbage like IE, just because it came with Windows.

    install_flash_player_10_osx.dmg
    install_flash_player_10_osx-1.dmg
    install_flash_player_10_osx-2.dmg
    install_flash_player_10_osx-3.dmg
    install_flash_player_10_osx-4.dmg
    etc to -9
Those are the ones you downloaded. Ten times, apparently. Since install_flash_player_10_osx.dmg already existed, the next download was appended with -1. The next -2, etc. They'll all be identical, so it doesn't matter which one you use. Though I'd go with the last one as it may be a slightly updated version from the first download, depending on how long ago you did the first one.
A .dmg file is a Disk Image. When you double click them, they open up a pseudo drive on the desktop. When you open one of these ten items, the Flash installer will appear in a file window. Run it to install Flash. Then close the file window (displaying from the psuedo drive) and then put the "drive" in the trash to dismount it. You can then delete all of those.
Looks like you also downloaded the Adobe Reader twice. Versions 10.1.2 and 10.1.3. Also Skype, whatever the Thomson thing is, and an unnecessary Flash uninstaller (the Flash installer will put an uninstaller in the Utilities folder).

I just wanted to follow this up by saying that you were entirely correct in your diagnosis of the situation.  My computer did have the faulty part you linked to.  I brought my laptop in and specifically told them to run that test, had it fail and then argued with the person at the genius bar and the manager.  Eventually they offered to have it sent out and have everything replaced for free of charge.  They did so mainly because I had complained about graphical issues almost every other time I had come in with problems and no one ran the test.  They should have caught this problem during my warranty, but they didn't, even though I mentioned the problem.
Anyhow, after having the part replaced, I haven't had my computer crash a single time since, or had many of the issues mentioned above.  I've never had this experience before.  Even brand new, I got occasional crashes.  Hopefully this new trend continues.
I do find that web browsing is still incredibly slow.  Web browsers just chug along at a slow pace, even though I have great internet speed.  Maybe I'll try just deleting my web browsers and reinstalling them...
Anyhow, thank you for your help and knowledge Clinton.

    Hi Louise,
Is your CS4 serial number registered to same adobe id with which you are trying to place the order?
This offer is not available to Education, OEM, or volume licensing customers.
