I have adware from macshop on firefox. How do I get it off?

I used an MP4 converter using FireFox, and now I keep getting these ads that say ad by macshop. In certain sentences on every website, words are highlighted in blue and contain an ad by macshop. This adware also contains many popups. I contacted Apple, but they told me to contact FireFox. I also cleared my history and my cache, and it's still happening. How do I remove this?

Hello,
Check your addons by entering "about:addons" in your address bar and click Extensions, or:
* Click Tools (or [[Image: New Fx Menu]]) > Add-ons > Extensions
Look for any suspicious add-ons that could be causing the problem.
If you cannot find it and just want to restore Firefox to the default settings, try the Reset Firefox feature. It can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. <br>
'''Note''': ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Troubleshooting Information''.Now, a new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
#At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Reset Firefox"[[Image:Button reset]]. Click on it.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.

Thank you.
