I have alot of music on my iphone 4 that i cant get on to my itunes account on the computer, when i sync the phone it doesn't transfer the music on to my computer. how can i get the music off my phone and into my itunes without it deleteing all my music?

i put all my music on my iphone and then when i got my new computer and downloaded itunes, it wont let me transfer the music thats on to my phone.
How do i get the music thats on my iphone on to my computer without it deleting everything?
(please dont tell me to sync my phone or back it up as i already have and it hasnt tranfered my music).

Try a different FW800 cable and also try doing a SMC reset. If neither work try another FW800 device to see if it's recognized, if it is then you know it's not the Mac it's probably the EHD.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Wait 15 seconds.
Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.

Connect the AC charge to the system. Battery will charge to 100%.
But it is very bad to drain the battery to Zero. So don't make a habit of doing that.

Yes.
It's always useful to keep a backup copy as well in case things go wrong.
It's much quicker than having to download again.
You can keep it on hard drives, memory sticks or cards, DVDs etc.

I REALLY hate the page up/page down functions that automatically loaded with the program. I LIKE to use my page up/page down keys for web browsing. How can I get these keys to work properly, or any of the keys to work "normally" as I have in the past?

The best way to get the songs in the order that you want is to make a playlist and then sync it over. Once the playlist is set, all you have to do is set to sync playlist in the music tab.

plug your iphone into your computer with your itunes account signed in to update it, (if you want your own apps ect.) if all you want to do is change accounts signed in on the iphone than simply open settings and scroll down until you see itunes and app stores touch the apple id tip top and signout, sign yourself in. any apps she has "purschased" that you have not.. i imagine will just cease to work.
if you both share the same contacts, it won't be a big deal, however if you have work and her shcools numbers ect, and she just has mom/dad/buddies you may have double numbers and apps and what not by doing this, so if it does become a mess.. just get on itunes log into your account by clicking the store menu in itunes and going down to the account id on the bottom of that menu and just restore your phone.

You can try some 3rd party utilities like those above. Your mileage may vary.
Officially, there is no way to get music off your iPod and onto your computer. Sync is 1 way only.

Thanks for the additional help. I kept looking at the menu bar and saw a couple of squiggly lines, so I clicked on them and a drop down menu appeared with file etc. So I was finally able to switch to the right catalog.
Now I had a new problem: I attempted to get photos from my files and was able to get some of them, but not all. I have many blank spaces with large question marks on them. They show a date at the bottom.
I've tried to import them again and again, but the program tells me that all files have been transferred. But I have all these large question marks staring at me. Any idea of what else I should be doing?
