  • Several sites will not respond any longer when I type or click on them. I have been using Firefox for years and all of a sudden, nothing.

I have been using Firefox for many years now and have been going to several sites on Firefox. Now, after an update around two days ago, I can't do anything with the sites. The cursor stays an arrow, and doesn't click anything. It's like a blank page with print on it.
I've tried almost everything, but to no avail. It's too much to copy and paste below.
Any ideas or help would be very much appreciated.
Also, http://tesnexus.com is another site, plus a few others, besides google.com.

    Hi Papajack55,
I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting-extensions-themes Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide ] and the [[Troubleshooting plugins]] article as well.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Can not connect to the internet. This is a new problem since I have been using firefox for years.

I can not connect to the internet. I called mediacom due to the problem and they connected me to internet explorer. They indicated I should contact you for help in connecting to the internet. It appears firefox has made some kind of change since last night since I was using firefox for my internet connection last night. Something has changed. Your help will be appreciated.

The only way that file opens thru IE8 for me ''(but not actually in IE8)'' is by using the Zip Utility (then IE closes) that is in WinXP and then opening the two image files in the Windows Fax and Picture Viewer.
I think Firefox is trying to display that file because the MIME-type is for '''''text/plain''''' instead of the appropriate MIME-type of '''application/vnd.google-earth.kml+xml''' or '''application/vnd.google-earth.kmz'''
That is something that needs to be configured in the server that is hosting that file type. Sorry, I don't know how that can be fixed. The one support person here that might know lives in Europe ''(I believe)'', so you might need to wait for an answer.

  • I have always used Firefox to make Jibjab videos. Now after creating video it no longer previews or finalizes video. If I use IE everything works fine.

I have gone through the Jibjab support site, tried all options they supplied with no success. All of my firefox plugins are up to date including flash, java and silverlight. This problem probably started 4 - 5 months ago. I can always go through IE, but IE is not my default browser. Also, once I make a new jibjab video using IE and finalize it, I can then use firefox to view that new video as well as all of my old ones created. It only hangs up when trying to create a new video. I get no error messages when trying to make a jibjab video. I add all my heads and when clicking on preview or done I basically get a blank page with only headers showing as if it is about to perform the next action but then just stops. It has only been on the jibjab site that I find this happening and they have not been able to solve the problem.

  • I have windows 7 and have been using Firefox for the last several months and now I can' open it up for some reason.

I've been using firefox as my principle browser for quite some time. I normally just click on it once and it opens to the home page with google search in the middle of the page. I downloaded some e-mail attachment about a job and that's when it seemed to act up. • I have been using Firefox for years. When I downloaded the Firefox 20.0, I can type in my hotmail address, but my hotmail won't open.

I am able to type in the address bar, but when I hit enter, nothing happens. And I don't like using Internet Explorer. This happens when I try to acccess my hotmail account. I never had this problem with other versions of Firefox.

We are aware of issues using the address bar. A push to fix the issue will be made in 3-5 days. In the meantime since your issue is a little different that what we have you can try safe mode.

  • I have been using Firefox for over 10 years with minimal problems, but recently (within the past 2 months) something has changed and I cannot get any sound to play, even on previous web sites that did work. I'll just have to go back to IE!

Windows XP, Firefox 3.6.13 version, I am thinking it would be better to back up to a previous version of Firefox that did work! What was the latest version as of October 2010?

Thanks to some hints in several strings, I went back to the Control Panel in XP, clicked on Sounds and Devices, clicked on Audio, then changed the default device to the Realtek HD Audio output I have on my computer. Now I can hear You Tube video sound and other Internet audio fine, at least for now. I will come back if it stops again. Thanks to all who posted.

  • Have been using firefox for months; now has quit working properly with the websites I use everyday. What happened?

It has quit working with "liverez" which is my web based reservation program. The place I login is https://reservations.liverez.com/login.asp?LogOff=True&Return=Res but once I login, the site does not work as it did before. The website that corresponds with this doesn't look right now either. I can't even use my msn email account with firefox now. I have had to go back to using internet explorer. I have not even tried other sites with foxfire at this time. The other sites I use for work. Things that aren't working are that I can't click on things I need to click on, drop downs aren't showing up, pictures are absent, etc. It is all working fine on internet explorer and used to work on firefox until last night.
