I have an app registered to an old apple ID, how can i update it?

I have an App I purchased two iPhones ago with an old Apple ID (I don't remember the password).  The App has trasnferred, but I can't update it.  Is there any  way to link it to my current Apple ID and update it?

No, you will be unable to link Apple IDs, if you are unable to remember the password you will need to purchase it on your current Apple ID.

There is no such thing.  Please explain what is really meant by the above statement.

  • I have an old app in my updates but no longer have the app on iTunes and iPhone 4s. How can i remove it?

I have an old app in my updates but no longer have the app on iTunes and iPhone 4s. How can i remove it? It is beyond annoying, as it constantly has the badge noticfication but can't update the app as it is no longer avaliable. Help!!!

Unfortunately the app isn't avaliable in the Australian store only avaliable to download in the UK store, very confussing as it is definitely not in my iTunes or on my iPhone. I don't understand how or why it managed to get to updates. I just want to delete it or at least get rid of the notification badge for it.

  • I have an old ibook G4, how can I update my OS?

I have an old ibbok G4, how can I update my OS to a newer version?

The Tiger 10.4(.11) is a fine operating system and so far probably the longest running one up to now. It was updated several more times until they got Leopard 10.5; and coincidentally, part of that time was when intel-based macs were being developed, and they shipped with a special build version of Tiger. You'd need the retail Tiger install DVD. And a later download of Combo update 10.4.11.
You could to an 'archive and install' that would install a new System Folder, and leave the older one in the hard disk drive for you to look at awhile and wonder what to do with it; there is a way (I've forgotten) on how to re-use some of that stuff. When upgrading from Panther several years ago, I decided to make a clone of the Panther on an externally enclosed hard disk drive with a FireWire connection, that has its own power supply, and has an oxford-type chipset to allow for Mac OS X booting from there. So a clone (carbon copy cloner) was used to make a complete system clone on the external drive. I tested it several times to be sure, then I erased the hard disk drive in the iBook (and other computers, I had an iMac G4, too) and installed the main system, then added the Combo update to 10.4.11, and the last security updates available, then reinstalled my applications. Some applications like Tiger better, and some were made for later OS X. Now the trail is cold on support but Tiger 10.4.11 is much superior to Panther 10.3.9. A totally better experience.
    {The advantage of an upgrade if you have other retail application installers, is the totally clean install gives you a chance to secure erase and overwrite one-pass zeros on the hard disk drive, and reformat it. But if you upgrade by archive & install, you have all those older applications, but have to figure out how to use them in the new system, which is in its own new folder. The older OS X won't boot, so later it would be put to trash.}
I was able to use Pacifist to reinstall some of the original applications from the older restore-install DVD the computer shipped with, as it can extract items from an install DVD without running the Installer, and it will install them from the desktop. But for a novice, this may not be a good idea.
Anyway, I suggest you start a new thread to address this upgrade question as it warrants due consideration.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • My iCloud mail is used in my old apple id, how can i move my old iCloud mail to my new apple id

my iCloud mail is used in my old apple id, how can i move my old iCloud mail to my new apple id

If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Make sure your headphones are plugged all the way in. The white plastic on the headset jack should be flush with the body of the nano.

Look on the side of the Express for this info. The model number starts with an "A" followed by four numbers.
Are you using OS X (10.6) as you indicate in your profile? YES on my old computer...But I'd like to have it on my 10.8.5 MacPro.
I can download on my 10.6 then can you tell me how to transfer? That possible?

  • I changed my email, but my I cloud & some of my apps are with my old email. How can I change it to access them?

How can I change my email address in an app, and I cloud??

If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad (including what is shown in Settings > iCloud).

  • I have Acrobat Standard X on an old computer. How can I transfer this program to the new computer?

The original program on the old computer was a download. How can I transfer this downloaded version to a new computer?

Copy the downloaded file to the new computer and install it. You will still need the S/N to complete the process.

  • In my iPad I see my old apple id, how can I change it?

In my iPad I keep seeing my old Apple id and I cannot find the way to change it as I did with Facetime

If you mean the ID for iCloud, you have to delete the account, provide the password for the old email when prompted, then sign by in with your new ID.  If you don't know the password, or if it is not accepted, then you'll have to do one of the following:
If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You should then be able to turn off Find My iPhone with your password. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back and change your primary email address and iCloud ID back to the way it was.  You will then be able to go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current ID and password to reconnect to your iCloud account.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to get them to reset the password for it so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account.  You will have to prove your identity to them in order to do so.  You can either contact iTunes support for assistance with this (https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html), or contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).

  • Old Apple ID lost, can't update to Aperture 3.5

I downloaded Aperture onto my computer from an Apple ID that I no longer use. The email tied to that ID is inaccessible to me now. I (apparently) forgot the password to the Apple ID, and can't have a verification email sent to it.
How delighted I was to find, then, that Mavericks would bar me from using the 3.4 version of Aperture! Is there NO way to access the update apart from my old (inacessible) Apple ID? If not, why isn't there? Could Apple go ahead and make that possible?
