I have an app that is corrupt and causes LTE and 3g to not work

I have an iPhone 5 that is almost a year old.  In the past 30 - 45 days I have experienced intermittent connectivity issues on both LTE and 3G networks.  Ironically, I have not had any issues with wi-fi.  I have wiped the phone and it has worked perfectly for days.  Does anyone have any ideas if it would be a corrupt app that is causing the issues?  If I restore the problem returns.  Is there an easy way to restore the phone to the old backup without restoring the corrupt file?  How do I figure out the cause?

Something in your backup is obviously corrupt. Whether it's an app or something else is hard to say.
Set it up as new, re-sync your data, and start re-installing your apps. Restoring from a backup is all or nothing. You can't selectively restore or not restore specific things.

    Did you get any help on this? From what I can see from surfing this site, it's a BUG that no one has offered a solution to. It sometimes happens after a 'reset' and going to ITunes does not offer a way to 'set up push notifications'.

    Hi Try a Reboot press power & menu button hold both down until you see the Apple Logo you will not lose any data But you me need to do this more than once. Cheers Brian

    This is also happening to me and I am glad to read that it's not just my phone. I have also tried rebooting the phone, and it doesn't work. It's a minor annoyance but I wish it could be fixed.

    Since I have updated my software, my imessage and facetime is not activating. I have tried to reset the phone, holding the lock button and the home button, trying to connect it under different wifi. Nothing seems to be working, it is really frustrating as I am a big user of facetime & imessage and many of my messages are not being recieved due to imessage not working.     If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

    If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
    Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
    Tip 2 - If you are updating using wifi, locate your iPad close to your router so you don't get a wifi dropout (can cause update corruption).

    Its really sad I love my iphone 5 a lot. Used to be an android user but wanted an iphone im happy but I just cant believe that it does not keep my messages private without locking my whole phone that really ***** big turn off!

    If the app is no longer in the store then you won't be able to redownload it, and if you haven't got a copy of it anywhere (you don't have another iOS device which has it on ?), and if you haven't got a backup of the iPad on your computer's iTunes (if you haven't got a backup then you won't have the app's content), then you won't be able to get it and your passwords back.

  • I have tried to update the plugins and it is not working. If I give you my email address, would you please take remove them because it is a real pain.

    Every time I go to a screen it shows the words"update plugins". so I try to update them and it doesn't work.     My Ipad 2 will not power on. I have tried the two button approach but it did not work. Until last evening, the Ipad was working very well. After it entered the sleep mode, it would not come back on. What can I do?

    The first thing to suspect is a completely drained battery. When this happens the iPad shuts down and will not turn on. Even if you charge the iPad it may take more than 30 minutes before it responds. Plug the iPad into the charger that came with it and plug the charger into a known good wall outlet. Do not charge the iPad by connecting it to a computer. Wait 30 minutes. Then reset the iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.
    If the iPad restarts let it continue to charge until the battery is at 100%. If the iPad does not restart consider making an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.
