I have an apple tv that wont stream video and wont automatically set date and time
Would like help setting up apple tv
I can stream netlix with no issue with my iPad and on both a notebook PC and desktop
The apple TV says its connnected to the internet when I check internet settings however it will not set the date and time upon initial power up and I cannot view any internet content
This sounds like a port issue. Somebody (possibly wjosten) posted a list of ports that need to be open in order for the ATV to work correctly.
Check your router set up and see if there are any services that are open for your iPad but blocked for the ATV

You cannot run Mac OS X on a Windows machine. You need a Mac to run Mac OS.
Macs can run Windows, but Windows PCs cannot run Mac OS.

Why is the screen from my Apple TV doesn't go past setting date and time and the screen stays black
My Apple TV screen turns on black and stays on setting date and time a few seconds after that it stays black but on light is still on and nothing else happens,I can't get it to do anything else!I just moved and have a new router and I think that might be the reason but I don't know! Please help!!!!

I have already reset my ATV3 to factory defaults twice and connected it directly to the router, but the problem remains the same... BTW, I connected it to the two routers of two different networks I have at home... It reacts the same to both nw....

Apple ID has my old email address. It will not allow me to change the address and will not accept my password or ID questions. I recently upgraded to OSX Yosemite 10.10.1. I also have an Apple ID that works with iTunes and would like to keep it as my primary.
To change the iCloud ID on your devices you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted (if using iOS 7), then sign back in with your current ID.
If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, you will have to temporarily recreate it in order to delete the existing account. To do this, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password. -
I have two apple accounts that I cannot get to merge as one.
I have two apple accounts that I cannot get to merge. One is a hotmail address and the other a gmail address as primary addresses in the two accounts. I would like to merge them into one account. I cannot verify the addresses of either accounts because when I do it will say that the address already exists. Therefore I can't get them to merge.
Also...
Me.com and hotmail are under the same account., but when I log into me.com some of the accounts turn into the hotmail account. I do not use hotmail anymore and use gmail regularly.
Any insight to these problems would be appreciated.If these are both used as Apple IDs, then they cannot be merged. If they are just two email accounts of which you only wish to use one, then you would need to transfer the data you want to save from one to the other. Since the data are just email you would need to look for a way to export it from one email address as a file compatible with what the other can import.

Just when you activate your mail and notes, it asks you to create icloud e-mail, which is completely separate and allows you to have one more e-mail address. Just some extra benefit, you don't have to pay for, but useful to save your notes and send e-mail or two if Google server goes down.

we have an apple ID that was set up in my wife's name. The kids have changed the account details and no-one can remember the password. They have also changed the account data and none of our birthdays are recognised by apple. We have no way of re-setting the account. The secondary email address we used when setting up the account is no longer accessible so even this option doesnt work..
What can we do as we have a large amount of purchased music on this account???1. Don't confuse "Apple ID" with iTunes Account ID. You can have many Apple IDs but only one iTunes account active at a time.
2. If you "changed" your iTunes account ID, you actually have 2 accounts - one under the old name plus the new name.
3. You can't merge the accounts - they remain separate. Apps purcahsed under the old account name will update ONLY WHEN THE PHONE IS SIGNED IN TO THE OLD ACCOUNT NAME and visa versa.
4. Likewise, you can sync only the apps, music, media purchased under the account the phone AND iTunes are signed in to. -
cannot connect to Net, have done for last 12 months no problem, I have other apple products that are connecting to the same hub happily. The hub is seen and the signal is strong, it just doesn't connect. I have reset the network settings with no joy. Any help much appreciated?
Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power to it for 30 seconds.

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then the steps half-way down this page should let you reset them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

i am new to apple products and have just received notice that 2 updates are available. one for garageband and the other for iPhoto. it is my understanding that updates are free. why is credit card info requested for these two updates? help is appreciated. thanks, lloyd.

I have an Apple Trackpad that shows that it is connected with Bluetooth but it is not responding. I've tried restarting the computer, disconnecting and reconnecting and also turning the trackpad on and off but it simply does not respond. Does anyone have any idea on what is going on here?
There are reports of similar behavour but generally it is due to battery connections. Is the indicator light working steadily or does it blink or even not function. Here is the Apple document dealing with some of the problems.

Is your machine within the guarantee period or under Apple care. If so, return it to any apple retailer for examination and possible replacement. -
if i have 2 apple i.d.s both me, one linking to my computer and itunes, and the other to my phone can i merge these together?

once you get in, you can change the email address associated with that ID so that receipts and such are emailed to a current address.

I have a Mac computer that i upgraded to Mountain lion, a macbook pro and an iPhone 4s which has the latest software. all i want is simplicity and to have one email account which which will not duplicate everything 4 or 5 times.
My notes are duplicated, i have to delete my emails individually on all devices so whenever i put my phone on, all the emails i have deleted at work re-appear on my phone and again the same thing happens on my Macbook pro. I seem to spend all my time deleting emails 3 times.
Is there something simple in the set up of these that i am missing?

I have not used my Apple TV in a few years, and just got it out of the bag to use on a new TV. I connected it up to power and with an HDMI cable toTV. It attempts to set date and time and cannot. I cannot get the remote to interact with the box also. Could it be something as simple as needing a new battery?
