I have an eMac that shipped with 10.4 and want to set it up so that it will run in Classic mode? However, when I launch System Restore it asks me to load the disc marked with teh sinfgle dot but then doesn't seem to run it?

The netbook9.dmg needs to be mounted on a PPC Mac as it would not open on a the intel Mac I used for downloading. (Reason - legacy image should be converted.) I copied to a G4 iBook and mounted it then saved the english folder conaining the NetBook.pkg. From there follow the attached picture using Pacifist to extract the NetBook HD folder which contains an OS 9.2.2 System folder.

Go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info, then select Firewire from the left hand column of the System Profiler. How do I change the apple id on the copy of Lion that shipped with my Macbook Pro?

I've inherited a Macbook Pro that shipped with Lion installed. The app store is showing three updates for iPhoto, GarageBand, and iMovie. When I try to update them it request the password for the Apple ID for the person who set up the Macbook. These apps came with Lion which came with the Macbook. I could reload the OS but that would wipe out my configuration. How can I change the Apple ID to reflect me as the new owner so I can update the apps included with Lion? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

If you know the seller, then maybe it can be done; according to the licensing agreement, if you sell/gift a Mac which came with Lion preinstalled, you are allowed to make a one time transfer of your software license. That would involve a call to Apple (I've not had to do this, but I've read that you need to call Apple and explain that you wish to transfer the Lion license from xxxxx to xxxxxx - don't know if it involves name/address or any other info). So, if your seller is willing to do this, and Apple re-registers the MBP in your name, you shouldn't have to do anything. You may want to check into this because it also may play a role when there is an OS update - not sure that you'll be able to get that with your different Apple ID.

Error -10609 -- even with example that ships with LV 7.0

I'm getting error -10609 ("A transfer is already in progress for the specified resource...") at AI Control from the error out cluster of AI Start. I tried running the example called Cont Acq&Graph (buffered).vi that ships with LabVIEW 7.0, and I get the same error at the same place, so I know it's not my code. I also tried rebooting the computer and power cycling the hardware, and the error still shows up on the very first attempt to run. I have no other processes running.
I have multifunction DAQ PCI-6052E and an SCXI-1001 chassis with 2 SCXI-1100 modules and 2 SCXI-1102 modules.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

This error will sometimes occur during debugging of a data acquisition program. What happens is that when you start an operation and then terminate the program prematurely using the Abort button the process could still be running on the DAQ board.
The best way to avoid this is to reset the board. There are several ways to do this. The easiest is to run the Device Reset VI in LabVIEW. You will just need to wire up the device number and run the VI. Another option is to go into Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) and run the test panels on the device. It will error the first time but if you close the test panel and run it again it should be fine. Finally, in MAX 3.0, there should be a Reset button that you can access from the Devices and I
nterfaces >> DAQmx devices.

Lightening Cable that shipped with iPhone5 now not certified

Since upgrading to iOS7 charging the phone has become problematic.
I now get this warnng saying the cable or accesory is not certified this is the Lightening Cable that shipped with the iPhone so it would have a certified chip.
If I move the cable charger & phone to a different power point this sometimes allows charging.
I have a couple of questions that arrise having read about these glitches.
Is it possible that the certified chip has somehow been burnt out (possible in the iOS 7 upgrade)?
I have read that now the Lightening connector is now handed(as a result of iOS7) so there is now a right way up?
One persons solution is to pull the cable up firmly to the left side front and hold the cable in place with an elastic band whilst charging .
I do not expect to have to jiggle cables and change to different power outlets to enable charging firstly changing wall sockets in a newly rewired house would point more at a poor connection with the Lightening plug & socket.
There has also been suggestions that the socket in the iPhone can become restricted through lint (fluff) it sounds posible but why should this rear its head after the instalation of iOS7?
Were this the case then surley the cable would not be seen at all so there would be no chance of receiving a message informing me that my Apple Lightening cable (as supplied with the phone ) is not autherized ?
So is the autherization chip overly sensative to the effects of a reboot after the iOS7 upgrade and the succesive ones since and has become corrupted?
This Lightening cable issue is most tiresome having to waste time just to charge the phone daily & then I have the prospect of spending up to half a day getting to the Apple Store to see if this can be resoved .
Is this genuine Lightening cable(not been recognised) issue caused by iOS7 or the result of dirt in the socket preventing charging .
Assuming that the issue has been caused by a worthy idea of protecting the user from injury from non Apple accesories with a clever tweek to the iOS an immenant fix lke yesterday would be good .
I am not used to this from Apple products (they simple work) and hope that this is resolved rapidly since I am getting to feel like throwing my iPhone out of a high window or beating it with a large hammer .

The most likely cause is dirt in the Lightning connector on the bottom of the phone. Look in it with a good light and a magnifying glass. If you see any lint or other dirt clean it with a wooden toothpick.
After that, I would suspect the cable.

Are original installer disk images available to replace the disks that shipped with my iMac?

I'm comfortable with "shared objects" for saving hi scores and progress in a game, but what if I need to create a series of preset data files that ship with the game?
I'm working on a large project that will involve a lot of data entry and I need to save lots of values to a file that the game will still have access to once it's installed on a mobile device.
Hopefully it's not that much more complicated???

I resolved this by writing to a text file which is "included" in the package and then parsed based on commas using the helpful "Split()" function.

Apple does not transfer content bought with one Apple ID to another Apple ID. Apple will not merge two Apple IDs.
If most of your content was bought with the Yahoo! Apple ID but you now want the Gmail address for your Apple ID, the trick will be to change the address used for the Yahoo ID with the Gmail address. However, to do that you must first free the Gmail address from that other Apple ID. Use the instructions from Apple to substitute another address that is not used as an Apple ID for your Gmail address in the Apple ID with the Gmail address. Then, when the Gmail address is no longer used in an Apple ID, you can use the same instructions to substitute the Gmail address for the Yahoo address in the Apple ID with the Yahoo address.
