I have an Epson Workforce 840, is there a driver update that will support AirPrint?

I have an Epson WorkForce 840, is there a driver update that will support Airprint?

I ended up buying the Lantronix Print Server, home version (about $100). It worked OK until iOS 7 came out, but then had to be manually upgraded, in order to function. I still have to reboot it sometimes, and it is slow to start printing.
Thanks for your reply.

  • Does anyone have problems upgrading Premiere Elements 12 with the latest update that will fix bugs and improve the stability of the program?

    Hi there!
I can´t update my software, it starts to download and everything but when it is supposed to start the update I only get an error message.
The update is to the 12.1 version of the software and with a size of 67 MB.
The error message that I get is like follows:
    "Adobe Premiere Elements 12.1-update
An error has occurred during the installation of this update. Cancel and try again later. Error code: U44M1I210"
Can anyone help me to find a solution of this problem please?
I run 64-bit version of Windows 7. (And I have the 64-bit version of Premiere Elements 12)
    Best regards!

    lily
Please look at the following possible Premiere Elements 12 solution for the 12 to 12.1 Update.
I am assuming that you are using Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit. If others, please supply more details.
Do you have Premiere CC or any Creative Cloud products on this same computer?
Right click the Premiere Elements 12 desktop icon and select Run As Administrator. Also, assure that you are running your
computer and Premiere Elements from a User Account with Administrative Privileges.
Disable the antivirus and in particular the firewall(s).
Then open Premiere Elements 12 to Expert workspace Help Menu/Update and determine if you can Update from 12 to 12.1.
    Thank you.

  • HT1349 I'm trying to assist someone who has a macbook with an operating system that is below 10.6.  Is there a software update that will allow an update to 10.6 or higher so that I can then install adobe flash 11.1?

tI am trying to assist someone (by phone) with a macbook update to flashplayer 11.1.  The message at the end of attempted installation of flashplayer is that because the operating system is earlier than 10.6, the installation cannot be completed.  Is there a free software update available for her operating system?  Is there assistance at an Apple store available for her in area west of Chicago?  She is a senor citizen so will need some assistance in the event that it is a download or installation that I can't walk her through by phone. Thanks for any suggestions or assistance in this regard.

The person needs to buy Mac OS Snow Leopard (10.6) for $29.00.
    Here is the purchase link:

  • Macs can't find Epson Workforce 840 on network.

I have an Epson Workforce 840 connected to my home network via the printer's internal wifi.  Home network is served by Apple Airport Extreme.  The network serves a mac mini and two macbook airs, all running OSX Mavericks.
Since the upgrade to Mavericks, the macs cannot find the printer.
The Epson's network report shows that it is connected.
If I connect the printer to a mac by USB, if works fine, but I don't want to do that permanently.
When I try to add a printer through the system preference, I get an old list of printers I no longer have, but no recognition of the Epson that is on the network.  You see in the list below an Epson @ Discovery, but that is from an old configuration.  I presume the x means not available.
It appears to be a defect in the printer preferences pane that fails to detect the Epson printer, or maybe fails to update altogether.
    Can anyone help with this?
    Thanks-
    Robin

why can't I print from my ipad 2 on my epson workforce 840 printer  ??? it show that there isn't a printer on my Ipad and my printer is wireless.

The 840 isn't supported by Airprint.  See the list here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
You may be able to use a universal printing app (check the app store), or Epson may make an app.  Or you could get a more up-to-date printer.

  • Printing problem with Epson Workforce 840 & iPhoto 6

My iPhoto 6 works fine with our other printer - HP Officejet.
However, when I try to print a 4x6 photo with the Epson Workforce 840, the "iPhoto" tab in the print settings doesn't offer the usual set of paper options.  It only offers a limited set including Letter, A4, and a bunch of weird papers called: EPKG; EP8x10in; EPHiVision102x180; EPPhotoPaperLRoll; etc.   No, there's no "EP4x6".
I choose 4x6 in page setup, but that doesn't help.  I've downloaded and installed the Epson drivers and rebooted.
    Help!

I have an Epson R320 and have communication problems. You start the job and after about 5 seconds you get a ! in the dock on the printer icon and on opening you see "job stopped".
I am no expert but it seems to me that the program e.g.MYOB accounting fails to pass the data to OSX.
If I de install and reinstall the epson drivers and repair permission it will work ...but then the next day on re-booting we are back to the same state of not working.
I have informed Epson and am waiting for a reply. The epson printer tests and standalone mode works. OSX problem?

  • Have an Epson workforce 600 worked fine until new router and Lion installed.  Now when I try and scan with the all in one I get a "POWER PC APPLICATIONS ARE NO LONGER SUPPORTED"  and my IMAC does not recognize that the Epson is a multi function printer.

Installed a new router.  Installed Lion. Have an Epson Workforce 600 multi function printer.  Two problems.
    1. I cannot get Lion to recognize that the Epson is a multi function printer.  There is no scan option on the "print/Scan" popup window.
    2. When I try and use the epson scan utility I get:  POWER PC APPLICATIONS ARE NOT LONGER SUPPORTED.
I have tried EPSON support with no real luck as they say it is Apple upgrades that are the problem.
Apple support was quite rude..said it was not their problem and that I should call epson.  Told the I did but it made no difference just got the same reply.
Have no idea what to do.....seems I cannot find out which multi-function printers Lion supports.

Not to give you another run around, but you need new printer drivers from Epson for your printer so it works in Lion.
Now it could be that they are working on it, or that they could have decided not to provide new drivers in order for you to force upgrade.
The only thing a user can do is decide very carefully BEFORE upgrading to a newer Apple operating system, make sure that all their current hardware and software works and make a decision for themselves.
Since you upgraded to Lion, you can go back to Snow Leopard and your PPC software will work.

I recently bought an Epson Workforce 840.  Booklet printing is an important part of what I do and read that the workforce could handle it.  However, it appears booklet printing isn't supported by the Mac drivers.  Is this true or am I missing something?

See if this gets you going:

  • Does anyone know if the scanner function will work for an Epson Workforce 840 aio printer using Mountain Lion 10.8.2?

Does anyone know if the scanner function will work for an Epson Workforce 840 aio printer using Mountain Lion 10.8.2?  How is the compatiblity generally speaking?

    Hi,
The Epson Workforce 840 do support scanning on Mountain Lion via Apple Image Capture.
You may find the steps to configure the scanner by following the ICA Scanner Driver section below:

  • I have an epson workforce 600 which is not listed as airprint enabled. has anyone made this printer work with airprint?

i have an epson workforce 600; it is not listed as one of the printers that is airprint enabled.
has anyone made it work with airprint? if so, please tell me how.
    thanks.

The Workforce 600 is not AirPrint-compatible. Epson has an app that enables printing to some of their other wireless printers. Search the iTunes Store or look to the support resources for your model of printer. Third-party printing apps such as PrintCentral are also available. All such apps have limitations, so check them out thoroughly before you pay for any such app.
You could also route the printing through your computer. If you have a Mac, Printopia would be worth a look. Fingerprint is another option that is available for both Mac OS X and Windows system. You could also consider an AirPrint-capable print server. Lantronix makes a couple of models, including one that supports a USB printer:

Thank you. I put it in airplane mode like you suggested, but it looks to me like all the applications and ads are still running. Anyway, I'm just gonna play when I'm really really bored and use them as less as possible. Thank you again for your quick answer.

So my iMac will be the same as the new one that will be released this year,
Or will I have to buy a new iMac to get all these new updates ??
It would be a shame if I did because my iMac is only 6months old if that ..
Kind regards Simon Trott Apple user and proud of it

We're not allowed to speculate on future or rumoured Apple products, but we all know there'll always be newer tech coming along.
The iMac you have is an excellent machine, be happy with it and get a good few years use out of it. By the time your machine is slowing down, whatever comes next will have been updated numerous times.
    I had the 2011 i5 27" delivered about 3 weeks ago. It's a cracking machine

  • At the moment I have a long Griffin charging cable. Unfortunately now that I have the Smart Case this won't fit through the available hole. Is there any other make that will fit that has the none  lightening fitting that I want.

At the moment I have a long Griffin charging cable. Unfortunately now that I have the Smart Case this won't fit through the available hole. Is there any other make that will fit that has the none  lightening fitting that I want.

I wonder if this comment on the Amazon site is the answer to my problems?
PLEASE NOTE: In order to provide the same power output as an original 3 ft Apple USB cable, the housing of our 6.5 ft cables need to be a bit larger. Due to the larger head size, it will not be compatible with some cases that have a smaller charger opening
If that is the case then I am stuck with the Griffin one or just use the original.
    Thanks for your observations guys
