I have an hp officejet 4500.

How do I stop the printing of the blank page at the end of each print job?

Hi,
This is from its manual (Page #30):
To make a copy from the device control panel
1. Make sure you have paper loaded in the main tray.
2. Place your original face down on the scanner glass. For more information, see Load originals.
3. Use the left arrow or right arrow to select one of the following functions:
• Copy B&W: To select a black-and-white copy job.
• Copy Color: To select a color copy job.
NOTE: If you have a color original, selecting the Copy B&W function produces a black-and-white copy of the color original, while selecting the Copy Color function produces a full-color copy of the color original.
4. Press OK.
5. Press Start.
You can download the whole manual from the following link:

  • I have a hp officejet 4500 wireless . How do I print from my 3GS iPhone ?

I have a hp officejet 4500 wireless so how do I print from my 3GS iPhone?

You can use Airprint Activator. It will see WiFi printers that are not Airprint capable. I have an iPhone 4 with iOS5.0.1 and a Canon WiFi printer that is not Airprint capable. The Airprint Activator works great. So, whenever I want to print from my iPhone, the PRINT function sees my Canon and I can use it.
You install in on a Mac that is on your WiFi network. Make sure the Mac is connected to your network via WiFi and not via an ethernet connection. I think there's a Windows version of this floating around too which I don't have a URL.

  • Have an HP officejet 4500 that won't scan

Printer works fine but scan is not acknowledged
I have downloaded the most recent HP Printer Drivers 2.8 update from this site and erased and re-added the printer in system preferences but scan does not work.

My HP Officejet 4500 Desktop just recently started making this horrific 'grinding gear shattering' sound... and I've checked the back paper jam and the paper gears -- nothing there.
The last person mentioned that they thought it was from using 'non-HP ink cartridges' but I've used both in the last few weeks, original and Office Max refilled originals, and had the same problem.
So I'm thinking it has to be something like a loss of lubricant, or something else stuck inside (see http://www.fixya.com/support/t3761689-printer_makes_grinding_sound_as_gears ). But whatever it is it sure sounds like it is about to tear itself apart!
And it's getting worse.  No offense intended but HP Printers and Laptops are the worst for breaking down.

Officejet 4500 G510g-m (fax)... I am able to send faxes out without a hitch, but cannot receive... When someone is trying to send me a fax, the machine rings and I can view the fax number but nothing comes thru ... I also made sure that "my device" had the correct device checked... any suggestions

    Hello @Gibbs715,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I  understand that you are having a problem receiving faxes.
    I would like to help.
Double check that the 'Auto Answer' is turned on.
Press the Setup button () on the control panel of the product.
Press the Right Arrow button () to select Fax Settings, and then press OK.
Press the Right Arrow button () to select Answer Options, and then press OK.
Press the Right Arrow button () to select Auto Answer, and then press OK.
Press the Right Arrow button () to select On, and then press OK.
Have you ran a fax diagnostic test?
Load plain white paper into the tray.
    Press the Setup button ().
Press the Right Arrow () to select Tools, and then press the OK button.
Press the Right Arrow () to select Run Fax Test, and then press the OK button. The product displays the status of the test and prints a report.
Also, if there is a voicemail service on your phone line, it could be intercepting the fax and preventing the 4500 form receiving the fax.

  • Hp officejet 4500 wireless won't print from laptop. It is connected to laptop. It prints from desktop

We have a HP Officejet 4500 wireless printer which was first installed in 2011 without any problems. We also utilize a HP LaserJet P1006 printer (not wireless) with our network. I cannot print from my laptop to either printer, but hubby's desktop has no problem. Both printers stopped working for my laptop at the same time. Everything worked perfectly until a few weeks ago when I could no longer print directly from my Dell Inspiron laptop. When I check on the connectivity of both printers to my laptop, the information tells me the printers are connected to my laptop.
My husband has a Dell desktop (our main computer).
I have tried everything I know to fix this problem, including shutting down the desktop, my laptop, the router, and the printers (including disconnecting the printers from the desktop with the cords that connect to the printers). I have followed all instructions on how to restart the entire system...plug the router in, plug in the printers & turn them on, and lastly restart both computers.
I am not what one would call "computer savvy"; as a matter of fact, I am quite computer-challenged. If any of you can tell me in extremely-easy-to-understand language what to do, I would appreciate your help.

    Hi,
Pleae download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor utility which should resolve most of printing issues.

  • HP Officejet 4500 Wireless Printing Issues with Online Maps & Financial Institutions

I have an HP Officejet 4500 Wireless printer that I have wireless connection to my HP G72 Laptop running Windows 7 (64 bit) with Internet Explorer 9.  I am having trouble printing online maps from either Bing Maps or Google Maps.  It seems the print jobs get stuck in the print que and always show an indefinite status of “Printing” in the que but never get printed.
I’ve tested my other applications including Office 2010 and all other jobs seem to print just fine.  I do use the “Print” button located in each of the online Map sites (Bing, Google).  This is when the jobs get stuck.
I do also have the HP Bing Bar installed with Smart Print.  The Smart Print feature seems to work with the online maps just fine (seems I’ll just use it instead).
Another separate printing issue is that I can never get any of my online financial transactions to print from any of my online financial institutions with either the Internet 9 print features or the HP Bing Smart Print feature.  I can never get those to print (have to wait for the PDF statements to be available).
Any ideas as to why I can print the maps or online financial transaction?  I get no error messages either.

    I have a HP Officejet 4500 G510a-f All-In-One Printer.
I´m missing one of the cartridge (Three Colors) one. But i guess it isn´t the issue, since all i´m trying to do is scan a doc, but everytime i press the green botton, all it says, on the printer itself is, "No Scanning Options".
    Pls Help.

The error i get on the computer screen is this "4, [(2,7,80040007),(0,0,0),(3,7,0)]" at the button of the messege.

  • HP Officejet 4500 = Printing problem

    Hello,
I have an HP Officejet 4500.  When I run a printing test, it prints out fine so it does not appear to be an ink problem or connection issue.  But when I try to print out a document from my computer, the paper feeds through but does not print.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Perplexed99,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I gather that when sending a print job to your Officejet 4500 printer that the printer only prints blank pages.
I’ve included the Troubleshooting Print Quality document.  I know you said the test page seemed to print fine but please follow the steps in this document.  If that doesn’t assist you, please also Try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows.  You can find the download for the Print And Scan Doctor at hp.com/go/tools.

  • Borderless Printing issues with HP Officejet 4500

I have created a document using Microsoft word 2007 and am having trouble printing this document without borders. I have a HP Officejet 4500 which does support borderless printing. I have gone into properties when getting ready to print and made sure to check the borderless box. I am still left with a small 1/8 inch border around the entire page. I tried the shortcuts and selected brochures with the same results. I also tried changing the settings through word. I went into page set up and made the margins "0.0" on both sides as well as the top and bottom of the page. It still prints with borders. What am I missing???? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Having the same issue. I tried to print boderless from many different programms and with all settings I could choose. I get out a full photo or document after maybe 20 prints. Everytime the printer wants to print at least 2 pages, stops printing after 10-50% and restarts again.
I really would like to hear back from HP.

  • Cannot print wirelessly to HP Officejet 4500

I have an HP Officejet 4500 wireless printer that I have never suceeded in getting to print wirelessly. It will connect to my wireless network fine, but when I install the device driver and go through the configuration steps on my computer it always stops with this message:
Your computer is unable to communicate with your printer at 192.168.0.21. This may be caused by firewall software. If you are using firewall software, verify that UDP port 427 is unblocked for both inbound and outbound traffic.
Your PC can not communicate with your printer at address 192.168.0.21. Check all cable connections. Check that the printer, PC and router are powered on and connected to the network.
My PC is a HP ENVY Phoenix h9-1360ea Desktop with windows 8.1 (it never worked with 8.0 either). I have connected this to my network both wirelessy and via ethernet. Neither work.
    So far I have tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the software from the HP download centre. The file I downloaded is OJ_AIO_4500_G510n-z_Full_Win_WW_140_408. I installed this as an administrator
Disabling my Norton Internet Security smart firewall. I also added the printer to the network map.
Adding a firewall rule to my Netgear DG834GT router to allow inbound and outbound traffic on UDP port 427.
Trying out all the troubleshooting suggestions on www.hp.com/global/us/en/wireless/index.html?jumpid=ex_r11400_go_wirelessprinting
I've checked online on the various forums but so far everything has lead to a dead end.
Running out of ideas now and could use some help please.
    This question was solved.

Based on what you just expressed, the hardware may be working. However, the software/ firmware is not functioning correctly.
