I have an IMac and an IPad 2. IMac receives and sends email. IPad does not. Message says name
My IMac sends and receives email without problems. My IPad two does not. Message says user name & password incorrect. This is a constant problem forcing me to repeatedly change names & passwords in order to get email on the IPad. How can I sync these two units to recognize a single user name and password? Help! Considering a returrn to the Morse Code.

If you are a Verizon user try this:
Open the phone and dial *228. This is a Verizon over-the-air programming number.
When the system answer press 1 for "Program or activate your phone"
Wait for the call to disconnect. You should get a prompt stating "Settings updated."
Double tap the Home button to bring up the recently used apps list at the bottom. Locate the Phone, Message, and Contacts apps, swiping if necessary, and press and hold until they jiggle then press the red minus sign to stop them.
Wait a 3-5 minutes.
Try your phone again and see if it's fixed. -

If you can't copy your purchases by right clicking on it in the device list and choosing "transfer purchases", download the apps again for free: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

I just updated my iPad to iOS 5 and now can't send email- I have tried the obvious but no luck. Any suggestions?
Usually 'authentication required' means that you need to submit a username (or e-mail address) and password to the e-mail server, when sending a message. This logic is not different between Outlook and Thunderbird, and even with the latest and previous version of Thunderbird.
Of course you can try the previous version again to see if it solves the problem, although you'll be less secure because you would be missing the latest fixes.

After upgrading my software my iPad did the same thing. My mail was completely empty. When tried to fetch new mail it said I had none and that it had just updated -- no new mail. I knew this was wrong. After reading some of the discussions from other users having the same problem, I deleted my mail account on my iPad and then set it up again. My mail filled up and is back to working normally. Success! Good luck to you!

I have an ipad (IOS 7.1) and downloaded latest version of itunes (11.1.5.5) and downloaded itools (1.8.2.8) but my Itools does not work and message that your itools is not compatible with itunes so please want your comment for that.

I downloaded Lion and have attempted to 'update' it from apps to my imac... after 3 hours of uploading it show me an error message saying there's something wrong with my internet connection... which there is not. Anyone else experience this?

On all of these devices, go to: Settings > iCloud and make sure they're updated with the new password. If you're talking about Macs, go to: "System Preferences > iCloud" too. -
I cannot connect to my outgoing email server on my macBook pro, yet I can, for the same email account on my iPad. Also I can send emails from the other email account I have on my MacBook...really confused can anyone help?
Sometimes deleting the account and then re-creating it can solve this issue
Write down all the information in accounts before doing this
Highlight the account on the left and click the minus button
Then click the plus button to add the new account and follow the prompts -
ipad does not come on once its unpluged from power source,it enters recovery mode when both power and home botton are pressed with usb on powersource but does not come up at all when connected to computer or out of power source
What model iPad do you have? If it's an iPad 1, the battery may have expired and needs replacement.

You need to find out what video out you have on your iMac, and what kind of video inputs there are on your TV.
It will help to know exactly what model iMac and exactly what make/model TV you have.
Depending on the exact model iMac you have, it may have miniVGA, miniDVI, miniDisplayPort or Thunderbolt output. Your TV may have composite, S-video, component, DVI, VGA or HDMI inputs. Once you confirm what kind of ports your iMac and TV have, then we can probably suggest the correct cable or adapter so you can connect them to each other. -
I made a purchase of an album on iTunes...somehow I deleted the whole album from my iMac and now when I go back to my purchases it does not give me the option to download the whole album again, instead it gives me the option of plaing them...please help!!
Where are you looking to download them from ? You might be able to redownload them via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your Mac's iTunes. If that album shows there but doesn't have the cloud symbol against it for redownloading then that implies that it's still in your iTunes library

this is SHOCKING from Apple... this is not in my domain of settings!!!In the iBooks application on the Mac, there is a checkbox to sync highlights and notes across devices.
I don't see a similar setting in the iBooks app on my iPad. It may require iBooks on the Mac as a mediator.

My MacBook Pro, running 10.7.3, does not recognize when my iPhone and iPad are on the same network, thus it does not synch. Any ideas?
Try the basics first:
Change your router channel number. Most times this works & is all you have to do.
Disconnect & reconnect your modem. unplug it for about 10 seconds. Plug it back in. Do the same for Apple’s routers. Wait for everything to reboot.
System Preferences>Network
Click the Assist Me button.
In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.
