I have an internet light, but my internet does not work.

Ok so here's the deal.  My knowledge of computers definetly above average, but i'm not a genius.  OK.  I have a westell modem\router combo.  The signal is so weak on it that i can't even connect my psp with it in the next room.  So i bought a Linksys Router.  I disabled the routing ability on the westell modem and made it a bridge.  I then connected it to my Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router.  Everything works fine.  all the correct light come on.  The only problem is, the internet light comes on, but i have no acess to the internet.  I then contacted Linksys tech support on the phone and talked with them and i downloaded EasyLink Connect, but when i run it, it can't detect the Linksys router.  I know its connected because i can type in my ip address and change the settings of the router.  I have no idea what to do now if anybody has even the slightest idea of what to do, please help. Alright...if you have converted the modem in to bridge mode you should be having username and password...connect modem >> router >> pc, reset the router back to default settings and power cycel the router, logon to router's setup page and use PPPoE encapsulation instead of Automatic confg. DHCP and put username and password...click on the status tab and try connecting to PPPoE server...let me know the results.
