I have an Ipad 2 with battery issues.

I recently got this Ipad 2 with know battery issues. It works only when plugged into the a/c outlet. When I first plug it into the a/c charge the Dead battery icon appears on the screen. A short while later the battery indicator show the battery at 100%. If I unplug it from the a/c charger it shuts off. I've already try a restore as well as reconditioning the battery. My question is how do I know if the charging port is the problem, or is it the battery or something else? Again, Ipad was purchased with "know battery" problem. I'm trying to fix it myself. I've already opened the ipad and I'm looking for someone's expertise.

Not "everyone" has tried the basics, let alone know what they are. That's why they're here. These first steps in troubleshooting often fix the issue being asked. If this thread doesn't answer your question, move on and find one that does. Feel free to skip the thousands that advise a reset.

It sounds like you may be experiencing issues on your non iOS 8 devices because iOS 8 is required to set up or join a Family Sharing group.

Not all content is eligible for Family Sharing.

I have an iPad mini with retina, 32 gigs, with wifi but no cellular. AIR PRINT no longer works for email, Safari, notes. It does still work for pages. I have tried shutting down and opening up the printer and the iPad. Does not work. I logged off wifi and then logged back in. Did not work. My printer is a Dell B1165 laser mono. It works for my home PC, also a Dell laptop. I think this is an iOS 8 problem. It worked before the switch when I had iOS 7.4. I contacted Apple support. They did not have an answer. They wanted to set my machine back to factory settings, something I did not want to do. I declined the after and said I would wait because I believed that Apple would have to fix iOS 8 with an update. Do you have this problem?

No, not the tabs "x", but for example, just now I tried to respond to your post by pressing the REPLY link on my ipad and it doesn't work. It also happens on EBAY when you click on tracking numbers and the pop-up window has a close button that will not work. Also on EBAY if you make an offer, a window comes up to review your offer and submit. the submit button does not work. If you hold on one of these link buttons you get a notice to open and the info says javascript. I think ios 8 has issues with JavaScript.

Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.
An "other" larger than aboutn 1 1/2 GB usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files. Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You may have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.

Your iPhone's iOS must be same or newer than the one in backups. In your case it is older so you need to update your iPhone and then recover it with backup.

Yes they are both connected to the same wifi network. Do you know when you double click on the home button and swipe right? The airplay button isn't there beside the play/pause and forward and backward button. It should be there.

The BestBuy guys are clueless. I use a Logitech BT Tablet keyboard with my iPad 4 - used it before with iOS 6 and use it now with iOS 7 and it works just fine.
A simply thing to try is to remove the BT pairing, reset your iPad (hold the on/off/sleep button and the home button at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears), then try repairing them. You may have to force the keyboard back into pairing mode (on mine, there is a button on the underside, near the on/off switch, that I would press and hold for second or two to force pairing mode).

Very easily. I have an iPod touch and iPad on the same account with totally different content.
If you use iTunes, connect each iPad to your computer and open iTunes and deselect any automatic updating/syncing. If you don't sync with iTunes but have them set up independently, under the settings, App Store, turn off automatic downloads for apps, etc.

Download the iBooks app to iTunes on your computer. Once it's downloaded, go to the Purchased section in the App Store on the iPad, select iBooks and you should be prompted to download a compatible version.
