I have an ipad mini and it is completely frozen and has not synced for over 12 weeks error message says Icloud Backup This ipad hasn't been backed up in 15 weeks. Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked, and connected to wi-fi
I was given an ipad mini for Christmas. It has twice frozen completely up. It is also not backing up or syncing with my other devices. The prompt on the screen states:
icloud backup
this ipad hasn't been backed up in 15 weeks. Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked, and connected to wi-fi.
then there is an OK bar underneath
anyone experience this and if so how do I reboot?
Gigi
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

"This iPhone hasn’t been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happen when this iPhone is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi."
I am get this message on my Ipad and have followed the instructions, connect the Ipad, lock the screen and connected to a Wi-Fi connection - however I have done this but I still get the message on the screen. It will not even let me press 'OK' - the screen is not responsive... I cannot access the OS. HelpReset your iPad to clear that condition:
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). -
Screen alert, "This iPhone hasn’t been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happen when this iPhone is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi." doesn't go away after tapping on "OK" button. Can't even switch iPad off.
Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

"This iPhone hasn’t been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happen when this iPhone is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi." what do I do?
You be sure the iphone is plugged in, locked and connected to wifi. Then a backup will be attempted. Or, you can manually do a backup inside...
Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, turn on iCloud backup and tap the Manual button. -
I get the alert, "iCloud Backup: This iPhone hasn’t been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happen when this iPhone is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi." and cannot do anything to get past it. I have done as directed - still nothing.

i have ipod classic 5gen it will not sync with windows the error message says ipod can not sync as required file missing wht to do???
Although you used the new USB 3.0 port, the actual connection speed is still USB2.0, as the iPod Dock connector, does not have the 10 times faster USB3.0 signal pins, the connection speed is still 480Mbits/s
I assumed that you have tried the other USB 2.0 port to no success..
Can you do the iPod Disk diagnostic as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem, but helps in troubleshooting.

Cannot move past message that says iPad has not been backed up in 2 weeks by clicking ok. Trying to verify wi-fi connection
I am having the same issue with my iPhone since 12/1/12.
I have meanwhile changed routers to Apple Extreme plus been out of town and experienced various internet connections. Still get same message that my iphone has not been backed up since 12/1.
I have removed most of apps to sync as well. Zero results!
I have done manual back up in iTunes, and when I 'restore backup', the box shows the correct time for manual restore I just did. But the message still keeps popping up on my iphone that the phone has not been backed up. I get that same date - 12/1- displayed in ITunes as well.
I just did "Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then releasing" as you suggested and unfortunately, it still is showing 12/1- even though when I click 'Restore Backup" it shows the recent update.
Any more suggestions? Thanks!! -
i can't enter my iphone. please help me!

You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it. -
Baffled by the message on screen as I have not tried to back up the machine. How do I do anything when I am unable to go beyond this message? I am on a friends laptop trying to make some sense of what has happened. I did get an email some time ago about verifying my id but have not had time to look at this and now can't find it. I am completely stuck - can anyone help?

I loaded OS8 on my 5c about five weeks ago. Since then, I have tried and tried to force a backup to icloud and fail every time. Phone does not auto backup either. I have an error message that says "This iphone hasn't been backed up in 5 weeks." I am connected to wifi. I also repeatedly get a popup asking for my apple id and password. When I enter the info, nothing happens. Anyone have an idea how to get icloud to work? BTW, I have plenty of space in icloud, According to settings, 4.2 GB still available out of my free 5 GB. Backup is turned on.

I recently purchased an I-Pad mini. It has an error message that states, 'this ipad hasn't been backed up in 4 weeks. Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked and connected to Wi-Fi. When i press on OK, nothing happens. The ipad is locked and i can only access SIRI, so i asked SIRI to open settings and i can see my Wi=-FI, but can't see if it's actually connected. I locked it, plugged it in, and hoped that it would fix itself.
i don't know how to get rid of the error message and the ipad mini won't respond to anything except SIRI....
Please help..
thanks
JoeTry holding down the on/off and the home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo.

My iPad is not responding. It does not unlock. I have a message: iCloud Backup, "This iPad hasn't been backed up in 5 weeks. Backups happen when this iPad plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi". My Question: plugged in to WHAT? locked, HOW? and how to connect to Wi-Fi when my iPad does not respond to anything I do with it? PLEASE HELP.

Hold Sleep and Home buttons for 10 seconds until your device restarts, so you will be able to use the iPad again.
The iPad makes a backup into iCloud automatically when it's connected to the network and it is been charged -
What do yoou do when your iPad freezes up. My iPad is plugged in each night and is connected to Wi-Fi. This morning the following message appears:
iCloud Backup
"This iPad hasn't been backed up in 6 weeks. Backups happen when this iPad is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi."
I press OK and it does not budge. I try to power off. The red arrow appears but it does not slide to power off. The iPad has simply frozen on the home page.
MikeTry resetting it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then releasing. You won't lose any data by doing this.

I have this message on my iPad and the device hungs. I cannot do anything with it, including powering off.
"This Ipad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happens when this Ipad is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi."
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?
Many thanks/JeremyThe system error basically should lead to the culprit of your issue. iCloud will ONLY automatically back-up to the cloud if all of the following are met:
1) iDevice is plugged in to the wall outlet/power source.
2) iDevice is connected to a WiFi network; iCloud does not back up over 3G/DATA networks to limit the data caps on most carries nowadays.
3) iDevice has been locked and innactive - usually takes place when one is sleeping.
Make sure all three of these are in fact in effect. If you are noticing that it has gone 2+ weeks unable to backup automatically, I would recommend navigating to the iCloud settings panel on your iPad.
Tap on Settings -> iCloud
On this screen I would advise for you to scroll all the way to the bottom and selete Delete Account.
*THIS WILL NOT DELETE YOUR BACKUPS, JUST REMOVE THE ACCOUNT ASSOCIATION FROM YOUR iPAD**
After this has gone through, sign back into iCloud and manually do a backup by selecting Storage & Backup and scrolling down to select the Back Up Now option. Once this is complete, use your iPad as you would. Over the course of the next few days, go back to where that Back Up Now option was and below it you will see when the last backup was done. This should be changing almost daily if the mentioned measures earlie in my response have been met.
Should this not solve your problem then due let me know. But to my knowledge, this has solved my iCloud issues with my iPhone 4S and my iPhone 5.
