I have an ipad that has been 'locked up' since 10 a.m. cent. time this morning! I cannot do anything to get it to shut off or reset. What do I need to do?
First try a Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

Unfortuinately there is nothing that can be done.
If its locked its locked. This is a theft deterrant mechanism.
If you could unlock "stolen" ipads then there would be no purpose for the feature.
You will have to convince the owner you bought it correctly, or accept its no lonnger usable by you until the original owner removes the lock. -

How can I allow the application to line through a field that has been locked after being digitally signed?
We have multiple sections on a form with some fields being proposed information and other in another section having the approved information. once the approved information is entered we line through the proposed field so the data entry clerk won't pick up the wrong information. However we are receiving an error when attempting to enter data in the field which we have this edit. Error property: line through cannot be set because doing so would violate the document permission setting. any idea how we can get around this issue?You can control which fields are locked down after signing by setting up a collection. Then those that are not locked can be changed after signing. If this is not possible, then the line outs must occur prior to signing.

If you previous synced to the computer then you may be able to recovery use of the iPod without erasing the iPod by following the instructions here:
Disabled Recovery-must use syncing computer.
Otherwise y have to erase the iPod
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If your child set a passcode to the screen lock and cannot tell you what he/she set, restore the iPod from the computer to which the iPod is synced. For information and instructions, see:

it cant just be locked. it may have 'ipad is disabled' if you have a passcode. give me more detail about what is going on.

How do I find music that has been uploaded to iTunes from a purchased CD and iTunes is “unable to find the original file?” I no longer have the CD. I have tried all the usual methods of looking in my iTunes library and through Find. No Luck.

If neither of the above and you don't have the CD and can't find your tracks on the computer then they you're stuck. A file recovery utility will cost $100, plus another $100 for an external drive to which to resue the files, and may not even work. You can buy a lot of CDs for $200. -

so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. You won't be able to remove the existing iCloud account, restore or erase it without know the password. If you ever update it or restore it you will not be able to activate it again and use it without knowing the correct ID and password.
