I have an ipad2 with wifi which I am planning taking abroad. Can I use one of those prepaid USB devices to acces Internet not having 3G? Is there a way around this

Other than using wifi I have been trying to see if I can use my iPad2 to access the Internet. I don't really want to upgrade to 3G now as ihave alredy purchased my ipad2 with wifi only.

Not if they could get a microSIM from a local carrier that supported tethering. Plus I believe that I have heard that various US carriers have a different roaming rate for data than for phone calls which is not as expensive, OCICBW.
