I have an iPhone 3gs, it was set up with itunes on a Windows pc. I now want to transfer everything from the iPhone to my iBook G4

Can i transfer everything from my iphone 3gs to another computer? Contacts, calenders, apps, music, ect. If so how would i do it.
Thanks

Yes for contacts and calendars, and the same for all iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded form the iTunes store.

  • Just got an iPad. Have had an iPhone. Phone was set up with an email address that is not good anymore, how do I charge the email address on account?

So my apple ID is my old email and I need to change it to my new email. I longer have access to the old email account.
I want to set up an iCloud and it wants to send confirmation to my email.
    Please help me out here

Fastest solution is to unfortunately create a new apple ID. If you create one directly off your iPad you'll be able to create an apple ID with an apple account ( [email protected] ), maximizing iCloud's potential devices
Otherwise going in the support section of the apple website you can send an email to apple support to escalate an investigation and help you retrieve your information but they may take more than 24 hours

You need to copy some files and your iTunes folder to the new computer. Do you have a backup of your old computer (or still have the old computer?) Was the old computer a Mac or PC?

Photos can be retrieved from an iPhone like any other external storage device - connect it to your PC, open "My Computer", access the files. Otherwise you can also use iTunes.

Yes, unless you are connected to free Wi-Fi.

The same as you do with any digital camera. If you've installed iTunes, the phone should be recognized by Windows as a camera.

I have a brand new mac book pro, I want to plug my iPhone into it & transfer everything from it onto the mac book, pics, music etc. I'm worried if I plug my phone into the Computer I will loose everything. How can I make sure this doesn't happen?

When you plug your iPhone to Mac,click the Summary button and select “Manually manage music and videos".Then iTunes would never delete your original music.
The most easy way to solve your problems is to move your music to your new Mac.Please refer to this article from Apple.com

  • Is there a way to transfer songs from the iPhone 4s to PC without first erasing and syncing everything? The CD's were stolen and the only copy is currently on my iPhone.

Here's the order which things occured.
    New iPhone 4S
Synched to computer, everything is cool.
    Computer explodes, new HD purchased
Itunes empty, everything is on phone.
Download whatever was purchased off itunes (1000+ songs)
Still missing bout 400 songs from CD's
    INSULT TO INJURY TIME:
CD's stolen. Only copy is on iphone.
When I try to sync to my computer (manually or otherwise) it wants to erase everything and put only what's on my PC.
What are my options to save the 400+ songs from my CD's that are still stored on my iphone?
    Please advise, thanks!

I have all my whole iTunes library backed up in mp3 format on a hard drive, as well as all my CDs backed up in full quality format (FLAC) on other hard drives.  If somebody steals my CDs I can always burn them again in full quality format (many of mine are from small bands that no longer exist and are irreplaceable otherwise).  Bottom line -- it is worth spending a few bucks on backup drives if you are serious about your collection.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.

For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • How do I sync new iphone  5S that was set up with iCloud

I just upgraded to a 5S from the 4S.  I backed up my old phone using iCloud and used iCloud in my setup on the new phone.  I still need to sync with iTunes to get my Audiobooks onto the new phone.  Currently my iTunes will automatically sync when I connect my old phone.  What happens when I plug in the new phone?  I really only need the audiobooks, everything else is fine.  Also, how do I tell iTunes I no longer have my old phone?

  • IPhone 3GS will not fully sync with iTunes 9.2

Just installed iTunes 9.2 (twice) and I cannot complete a sync of my iPhone 3GS. It seemingly stalls at Contacts or Calendar (varies on each attempt). Prior to this, my syncs would be speedy fast (less than 5 minutes.
Any ideas of what I can do to fix?
    Thanks in advance

I was sync'ing fine with iTunes version 9.1.2 and then I allowed Software Update to download and install 9.2.
Then iTunes downloaded iOS4 and did the install/restore process on the iPhone. Somewhere after that I get the message during the sync process "The iPhone (my name) cannot be synced. A duplicate file name was specified".
I deleted all the backups listed in iTunes, I unchecked the Sync box for everything so that the phone is basically empty, no Apps, music, movies.
    It still won't sync.
    Any ideas?
