iOS 5 handles texts differently than previous versions. Resetting the network connections helps, but that didn't seem to solve your problem, and neitherdid the simple reset.
Try deleting old messages from the messages app, then after clearing up a lot, just do a simple restart of your phone. If you want to be extra sure, try resetting your network connections again. I had this same problem. Your last option would be a complete restore of the phone, but I don't think we'll have to go that far.

Beyond that... since you state you've tried all "recommended fixes" have you actually restored as new and not from your backup? -

I had the same experience with a new iPhone 5 that I bought last week. Did not have a chance to measure battery life before the 6.0.2 upgrade installed but I set up my phone exactly like my 4S and immediately started running out of power after short periods. Went to Xmas get together with fully charged 5 and 4S. Heading home the iPhone 5 shut down for low battery and the 4S had 65% power. Both phones had two half phone calls on then and no data usage.
That night I fully charged the iPhone 5 and, without lighting it up, put it on my night table. Next morning I picked it up and looked at battery indicator and I had 42% charge with NO activity!
Tried it again next night and wound up with 37% charge. (Slept longer).
Today I called the carrier and reactivated the 4S. Took the 5 to Apple Store and they kindly gave me choice of new replacement phone or refund. I took the refund. Uniquely, the Apple Store said it was Verizon CDMA phones that were coming back.
The are other strings on this with temporary solutions, but from my experience with 7 firmware changes on an HTC 4G phone the problem will continue because the solution will be hardware caused. We are in the days where RTM means Rush to Market - not Release To Manufacturing.
I fear the only solution is to either wait for the next model (I did not notice a really major change in performance over the 4S in LTE heavy Seattle area) - or switch to another manufacturer.
It might be useful for these forums to indicate if you have a GSM or CDMA phone to see which have more problems.

I had an important app. (Memos by bluemarblesoftware.com) that I accidentally deleted. It of course had many memos, some with quite a lot of information. I did sync my phone on a regular basis and I think the memos should be on the desktop computer. I tried to do a restore function but I got a message saying there was not enough room on the iPhone. How much room is needed?generally you need 1.90gb
what you can do is back up your phone to your computer before doing the update, just as a precaution. -

Go into Settings>Messages>Send and Receive and make sure that your phone number is checked and iMessage reads as activated. Remove the checkmark from the email address and make sure that only the phone number if checked. It should appear grayed out, but should still have a checkmark. If the phone number does not have a checkmark, then turn off iMessage, wait a few moments and then turn iMessage back on and make sure that it activates.

This is making me really mad I have an iPhone 4s and all off a sudden the volume slider disappeared and now it won't let me turn up my volume I have reset restored done the tooth brush trick blew into it and everything an it still wont work someone help!!
Is that the only solution? This just happened to me last night and I though that maybe it was just acting up and it would be fine this morning but it wasnt..

I had the same problem a year ago when I did an iOS upgrade. Now if I receive an important photo I save it to the Camera Roll
No way I know of to retrieve them unless you have a very recent backup to restore from maybe? -

I also had this problem. Go to settings> itunes & app store, tap on your apple ID and sign out. Then open itunes store. It should now open.
Then sign back in again and the problem should be resolved -

You can send a message through an email gateway so that it appears as a text on someone's phone. However, it's not their regular address. For example, for a Verizon customer, it would be [email protected] Perhaps that's what you're thinking of?

I have a VGA adapter and an iPad2. Tried projecting my iPad2 to projector using the VGA but doesn't work. Tried it with friend's iPad1 and it works. Why?? Pls help.
Yup - nothing happens. I then took the same VGA cable and plugged it into my friend's iPad1 and it worked perfectly when she opened Keynote. My understanding is that the iPad2 mirrors the entire screen, so no need to go into any specific application in order to project to the screen, right? Do I need to download any specific app or change any settings in order to be able to project the screen using VGA?
