I have an iPhone 4 and the iOS 4.3.5 download keeps failing. It downloads then I get a message stating that the download was corrupted and couldn't be installed. I've tried it with bitdefender switched off. I've tried it with it in airplane mode. My partner has tried to update their iPhone on a different computer to mine and is also getting the same problem and error message. Help!
That's exactly right. And since you have a MacBook Air (as I do), that means the synching should occur just fine (if you've set it up right in iTunes). In other words, once you actually do the update, the iTunes on your MacBook Air will re-sync your photos back to your iPhone.
Basically, the process is that your iPhone gets backed up, wiped clean, then the new iOS version gets installed, then the backup gets restored. That will restore everything in the article above, which does not include your photos. But the sync process that happens after the iOS installation would restore your photos from iPhoto given you've set it up that way in iTunes.
When you have your iPhone plugged into iTunes, while looking at the iPhone's summary page, click "Photos" on the right side of iTunes to see how you have your sync set up.
Regardless, it sounds like you'll be fine! Your photos will wind up in iPhoto once you place them there. They will be safe there.

If you really want your contact back and you did not do another iCloud backap since you deleted some of your contacts, you can do a hard reboot on both devices with iClouded contacts by holding down the home and lock buttons on each of them for 10 seconds ignoring the slide to turn off thing. Make sure you have iCloud contact services off before doing so. You can then go through the whole set up process until you get up to the backup part. You then press to restore from an iCloud backup (make sure you choose the right backup for the right phone). If you didn't make an iCloud backup before the contact incident, you will have to use your two-month-old iTunes backups. Each phone should have their contacts the way they were from your last backup. You then go into Settings>iCloud>and turn off contacts. You then can choose if you want to keep your current contacts or not. Turn this off on both phones just incase you add another iCloud device to the mix later on. Now your contact lists are no longer linked (Caution: side effect may include lack of edit button). You may now add and delete contacts as you please without it happening on your other phone.

I just tried to sync my phone to my itunes acct to load new music onto my phone and it gave me a message saying that it was unable to sync b/c "the sync session failed to start". I have an iphone 5. I have no idea of the ios version in it. Recently i broke my iphone screen and its showing up nothing. it was never synced to itunes or to any pc. When i tried to connect iphone to itunes in my pc it was asking for passcode which i had forgotten ages ago. Suggest me the possible ways to recover my iphone.
Since the screen doesn't work, it will be challenging to get it working, even thru iTunes. You will need to ask yourself if you want to invest more money in it or get a new one, especially since the contents will be lost since you don't know the passcode. Apple will gladly replace the screen for a cost that represents a significant portion of the price of a new. Once the screen is done, you may or may not be eligible for the free iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Program.
Or, if you decide to salvage it and are strong of heart and firm of hand, you can replace the screen yourself for less. See here and note they carry kits with all needed tools and parts. -

As major software releases go iOS 7 is amazing? Many requests for support found on these boards are solved via advice related to How To Do Something. Many times the advice is right out of the User Documentation provided by Apple. If someone were to compare the number of critical issues reflected across these posts vs. most other major releases from any major vendor ...iOS 7 is excellent.

I have a iphone 4s with ios 8.3 and I used to be able to sync only a week or two of emails from outlook email. Now it won't let me do that and it syncs all my inbox. How can I change it back to sync less. I can't find the right place.
I understand, as that was the place I would change it before 8.3 but now that option of Mail Days to Sync is not available? Any idea why that would be?

I have an iPhone 4 using iOS 7.1.2. On my home screen at the email icon in red it shows I have 11,193 emails to be read. I have no mail in Inbox, Drafts, Sent, or Trash. Where did this come from and how do I get rid of it. The number is printed in read on top of the blue and white emaiI icon. I contacted my cable company and through their website I can check my email. In doing this it showed I had 25 unread emails. Also, my iPad 2 is receiving emails fine. So the problem is with the iPhone 4. What can I do to get rid of the number and make my mail operational?

I would start with taking a look at the settings to make sure that you are able to send and receive messages. I have a 4g iphone without the IOS software ( or the latest version of it.) I have exhausted the devices that I can exchange info. on which I believe is 5. 3 o out of the five broke. I am able to sync my phone and get apps, books, and music (thankfully from my phone to my latest computer, but not vice versa. In order to update and downlaod the IOS software it says I need to back up all of my info. Will purchasing the latest subscription of icloud 24.99 per year help me or should I just excpet that I will lose my lateset notes, text messages, and contacts through the update. I also want to make sure that after I update, I will be able to get all of the info back onto my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What version of iTunes do you have installed? If you are trying to update to iOS 6 you need iTunes 10.7 or later.

If so, before beginning the download try temporarily disabling your antivirus, anti-adware, anti-spyware, and any other anti-whatever that is required with the insecure OS your computer is running.
