I have an iphone 4ios and recently uploaded the new update. since then i am unable to ssave pictures from say, facebook for example. When i click on the picture and hold it for a moment until the save picture comes up, i hit save, and it does not save
why am i unable to save photos on mu 4ios since i downloaded the recent update?

Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan > Printers window and delete the printer from the list, then add it back.

The hard drive on my MacBookPro recently crashed. The Apple store replaced it. Since then I can't open iphoto. It asks to rebuild library; when I click yes, I get: "Aperture cannot access this library; reset permissions." I don't own Aperture! Any thoughts on how I can rebuild the iphoto library? Currently I can't even get into it.
Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:

Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.

Since the update my iPhone 4s started freezing and restarting by itself! I have done everything apple have told me to do. I restarted my phone like new restarted settings etc. And still its giving me the same problems.
I don't believe I have to pay that amount of money because the reason for these issues is the update apple sent !!!!

If you are talking about moving your application support files and preference files that are in the home/library folders that won't be a problem. I did it recently for the same reason. I would not move system library files but user library files will move without problems. I did not move the whole folder but I moved the files in the folder that I needed. I moved Mail,Safari, all the files for iPhoto and iTunes, my music libraries, and some others. The only issue I had with it was that for some reason I lost my playlists on iTunes, not the music library, just the playlists. I only had about 12 of them so it was no big deal but if you have a lot, that may be an issue. I don't know what I didn't move that caused that to happen.
If you are going to do backups in the future, using Time Machine is great. I use it. However I go one step further an use a program called Super Duper and actually clone my entire drive onto an external drive, then do incremental backups with it. That way, I have a complete clone of my drive and if something happens, I can get back to work quickly. I don't know if Carbon Copy Cloner, which is a very good program also, supports incremental backups or not but if it does than either one will work. -
I am getting unwanted popup ads about software update for software that I don't have installed. I have an iMac 20", 2009, running 10.10.2 Yosemite. This just started this week. I read that Adobe Flash Player was causing problems with mac's and Windows pc's. I did the Adobe Flash Player update for windows 7, on my pc's. Is this my problem here on the iMac? I also get popup ads when viewing and crags list ads. they appear in the midle of the screen, and in the lower right hand corner. Any advice, suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks
There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
if it's not already checked. -

Mail on Lion does not save messages that fail to send
When I am not connected to the web if I am composing a message and hit send button Mail does not save the message, and just tells me that It could not be sent and discards it. This is really annoying. I am using 10.7.4. Anybody else experiencing it? Any way around it?
For example, if I am on a plane, and I want to compose my messages to be sent later, this will not do it.. I never had this issue on Snow Leopard.
ThanksThanks. This is helpful.. However, do you agree that this is bug? Because, if I accidentally hit "send" in the full screen view, it just discards everything I wrote, it seems like. This was not the case in Snow Leopard. It would just save it in Outbox. When it is not in full screen mode, it still seems to put in in Outbox. I think my solution is to avoid this full screen view. It sounded a good idea, but changing bevavior just becuase I am in full screen, I cannot get it.

Why will airplay not work from my desktop to apple tv after I installed the new update?
After I installed the new Updates to Itunes, I can no longer use airplay from my desktop to my Apple TV, it goes orange and says it does not work. Please help! They are both on the same network and Apple TV has been updated.

I have an iphone 4. Recently I have been unable to receive pictures or normal texts. All texts come in as ichat messages. The phone is slow and it takes a while to get the messages. I've reset the phone and followed the steps on the support page. Still having problems! Any suggestions??

Delete background Apps from memory and then Reset.
To Delete background Apps, double click Home button, in the bar at bottom, hold down on an App Icon until the minus sign appears, tap all the minus signs, until all background Apps are cleared from memory. Then Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart itself, ignor the 'slide to power off' let the iPhone restart itself. Usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons.
