I have an iphone 4s and ive downloaded an album from itunes, why am i unable to use one of the songs as a ringtone, ive been told i have to download a "ringtone" but i already have the album
can anyone tell me why if i have downloaded an album via itunes i am unable to use of the songs as a ringtone ? i have the iphone 4s
Songs and ringtones are different types of music files. The file extension of Songs is mp4 and that of ringtones is mp4r. They are not interchangeable. You need to download the ringtone you want or convert the file with a ringtone creator app of which they are many for free in the App Store.

Right click 'computer' in your PC/laptop (whichever). Click 'Manage', then 'Services and Applications', then 'Services', you should see 'Apple Mobile Device' running or stopped. If you couldn't find 'Apple Mobile Device', it means you haven't download iTunes into your PC/laptop (whichever).

I have an iPhone 4 and it locked up upgrading from 5.1.1 to 6.1 What should I do?
I have an iPhone 4 and backed it up to laptop to iTunes then tried to upgrade 5.1.1 to 6.1 and it locked up. It actually just reboots directly to the itunes logo with a USB indicator.

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

I have restarted device several times. Have unplugged wireless several times. Have done everything Apple has stated to do on their trouble shooting page. Have called Apple seeking advice. Was told for 35 bucks they can help over the phone or choose the free email. I chose the free method and followed what they suggested! Still nothing. I am incensed that they want 700 dollars for this POS and then want 35 bucks for verbal customer service!! I will never purchase another Apple product again if this does not get resolved. I am so disappointed. Then to be told that "for a fee" I can get verbal help. I was told my product warrantee has expired, I wonder if it expired as soon as I had issues. I am fed up! Looking for window to throw this out of or place it where an automobile is backing up. I would like the last week of my life back spent trying to fix this hunk a junk!! Oh, they had no problems before taking my money for songs and apps! Why can't they help fix this issue!!

I have a new computer and after I downloaded iTunes my music library is empty. I had to deauthorize my last computers since I was at the 5 limit. How do I get my music?
Copy all of your music from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries.

I have OCD, and all my music is Purchased from iTunes. I used to have all my albums correctly organized and catelogued, and they always had their respective record labels/copyright information.
I had to redownload some music, and they are coming without this tag. Does anyone know why?
I have already deleted/redownload the whole library many times and it looks random. On my iPhone for example, the same album from Amy Winehouse yesterday was download twice, one time it came with all the correct tags, the next time it did not.
WHY does this happen? Where are we downloding music from?
This really bothers me. My music looks like it is not original and honestly I´m getting tired of trying to redownload everything over and over. I know these tags can be added manually - BUT I paid, and iTunes isn´t cheap, so what the ****?
And I know many might think this is very stupid, but it is a tag, as any other tag. What if your next redownload came with no album art?You're not OCD. If you were OCD you would be so concerned about order that you would have a proper backup of your library and you could instantly replace anything missing with the exact beautifully organized copy you had before from the tragic and devastating disappearance of the track from your computer. If you have to re-download from Apple because something went missing on your computer it means sloppy computer habits.
I don't have any iTunes Store purchases but when I saw one on a computer once I recall copyright being stated in the summary information. -
My cord is not the problem I have two different cords but neither of them work. What could be the problem? I can still charge my phone through the wall, but until this is fixed I basically can't use iTunes.

How do u delete old contacts that have been deleted from my phonebook on my iphone4s. The old contacts continue. To show up when i go to message someone they pop up from memory.

What is the best practice here? I want her to have her own contacts, etc., but to be able to download music and aps from the store using my account, and to synch her music with my iTunes. Any suggestions? Thanks!
- On her iPod go to Settings>iCloud and turn off contacts and other things if you want.
- On the iPod go to Settings>Messages>Send and Receive and add here own email address and delete the Apple ID email address. Also uncheck yur phone number if it appears. The only way to delete the phone number is to use an Apple ID not associated with the phone. You do that in Settings>Messages>Apple ID
You can go to Settings>FaceTime>Yu can be reached at and add here email and delete the Apple ID. -

Try starting iTunes while holding down the shift key. Then try to load the iTunes library which contains the information about your old media files.

I have an iphone 5 and cannot send email away from home. It works fine at home over my home WiFi. But when away from home on Verizon wireless if I send an email I get an error: "the server refused user >Personal email address deleted< your message has been added to drafts". What do I need to do to fix this? My wife has the same problem with her iphone 5.

Rats! Emails should work on our network! Let's get this fixed. It may be the way the email is set up on your device. Here's an awesome link on apple's site to help you: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1288908?start=0&tstart=0 If that doesn't fix the problem I would recommend reaching out to road runners site. They normally have email set up walkthrus.
