May need to reboot router - check ISP for any recent firmware updates for router - Reset All Settings - Reset Network Settings [NOT Erase All Content and Settings -> As this wipes the device back to factory settings]

See the IT Guy and ask about any "Other Security WiFi Blocks"
Other locations [Secure WiFi] -
Try a location with a Non Secure WiFi -> As these locataions "typically" do not have a IT Guy to go to for questions regarding [Other Security WiFi Blocks]
Non-Secure WiFi -
Then try the steps below [Even with the others listed above]
Just because you may be able to get to a Secure and Non Secure Website on safari on the iphone does not mean the WiFi connection is "Perfect or ok" and I am not saying it is not.
Also take into effect servers for iTunes updates/Apps etc could be overloaded at that time.
You can also try a simple Hard Reset [Hold down Sleep/Wake button and Home button at same time - Once see Apple Logo release both buttons - Allow iphone to reset]
If have already tried these and have not contacted AppleCare Support try that too.

This is also the case with my iphone4s. I can not connect to iTunes at all! There's no specific error number just can not connect to iTunes. Then contact iTunes support. I have tried a few different things: clearing paused downloads in purchased area of app store (ipad2) and resetting wifi settings (ipad2) i also reset my wifi and that did no good either. Would be nice if someone knew what i needed to do to get rid of this issue I've been down for 3 days as I really can not do anything with either of my products. Thank you
I tried that, i tried every setting i could think of and tried all the ideas posted on this site. i got it working eventually though i had to wait for ios 6 to be released then after i downloaded and installed it, it started working.

Just updated to iTunes 10.7 on Windows Vista 64bit and now when I try to connect to the iTunes store and just get "Uknown error has occured-42408" Please help!!!!!!!

The only but is there are again some problems with upgrading from 10.6 to 10.7, but this is another story.

I have a 4s iPhone which I loaded the new Os on last night. Now I can not connect to iTunes. A message comes up saying i need 10.6.3 or later but I am running 10.6.1 as I have an older Mac. Anyone have ideas how to get this to work?
Its not telling you to update your iPad, its telling you you need to download a recent version itunes on your computer.

Hello, I have an Iphone 3GS and can't connect to Game Center. It recognizes my apple ID account, states it was never used with Game Center. Then asks for country, birthdate, then returns to ask country again, then birthdate, and returns to the loop. Never ends the loop unless I cancel the setup process. I have restored the iphone to the factory settings and restored the backup, but did not work. Any suggestions on what can be the problem? thank you.
I just read another post that says you can go into a game that allows for multiple players and utalizes game center and enter your account information that way. I haven't tried it yet, but it seems to work for others that had this issue.

I still get the message (can not connect to iTunes Store) at some updates. But then I can click ok and it updates anyway. Hopefully this can help others with the same problem as well! -

At US western pacific night time, I always have this message "Can not connect to Itune" every time I want to buy an apps or surf the apps store on my iphone 3g. Is this server problems, heavy traffics around the world? I called Apple Tech and did exactly what they told me but.....not resolved. Help!
I would suggest calling apple tech support again and telling them what they told you to do did not resolve your problem and ask for more help. . .

I can not connect to iTunes store from my mobile divices. I can through iTunes on my Macbook Pro running Leopard (10.6.8). My company has not authorized update to Lion yet.
I have the same problem on my iPhone and iPad 1. This has occured since updating to IOS 5.0.1, but I do not know if it is the cause or just a coincidence.
Since I can make purchases through my Macbook and sync, it's not a crisis, but just an big irritation.Apple ID problems.
An additional consideration might be that I have had Apple ID problems. With the move to an ID for iCloud my old Apple ID and a new one using an email address got mixed up and in conflict. It took Apple Support staff to clean it up. For a few days, everything seemed to be running fine on my new/old/restored single ID. I did not think this was a problem, because the error sited a connection problem not an ID or password problem. Could this be a factor? -
I Got an iPad air 2 yesterday and had no problems downloading apps. The pad has been synced to my phone. Today I am unable to download apps on either devise Tried logging out of iTunes on both but now can not connect to iTunes and do not receive an error code.
Thank goodness it's not just me. I also have tried everything from previous forums and nothing works. I logged out and cannot log back in. Even changed password to no avail. How can we find out if this is an Apple problem.

I bought my son a 1st generation Ipod touch off of Ebay. We set it back to factory settings and downloaded the newest version of itunes. Whenever he tries to download any apps it says "can not connect to itunes" I have checked the wifi connection and that is working (he can get on safari) and we have the newest version of windows. He was so excited to finally get his first Ipod and now cant do anything with it...please help
