I have an ipod 2. My baby brother dumped it in water months ago. i bought a charger from a local gas station. when i first plugged it into my pc, the Ipod showed it was charging, but now, two hous later its still dead. My PC still wont show a file for my Ipod even though its still pluged in. how do i connect my ipod to my PC

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Is it possible to save an ipod that was dropped in water months ago?

A couple months ago i bought a green gen 7 ipod nano. About two weeks later i dropped in the toilet. I now realize that this was a stupid thing to do but i turned it on and off. I then put it in rice and left it for a couple months. I just took it out today: Won't turn on and heats up when charged. Is there anyway to save it? I heard of soaking it in rubbing alcohol might this work?

Not sure if this means anything but the screen was glowng when turned off.

On that page you'll get phone numbers etc. You'll get a definitive answer if you go to the source and explain your problem to them.

I lost my iphone on holiday and now I have a replacement I cannot find the backup I made a month ago. Have I lost everything?

I definitely backed up my iphone 4 which was on iOS6 to my laptop. I then lost my iphone and have got a replacement which was already on iOS7. I have tried to restore the backup I made before I went away and I the most recent backup I have is from may last year! Where are all the backups I have made? I need some of the apps and info which is on this backup. I have checked C:\Users\James\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup but there are only 6 folders in there.

In iTunes, on your computer, in the menu on the right is a "Purchased" option. Music is the default I believe and you can download it all or select whichever you want.

Chances are yes you can keep them both updated with the same music. As long as both are on the same format (Mac or PC) and the music in the library is the same, you should be able to just update them. However if it tells you the iPod is used by a different library hit the option that allows you to ignore that message and you should be able to go from there.

I have a backup from about 4-5 months ago available on an external hdd as a time machine backup. Can I add/update contacts from the back up rather than restore? The reason i wish to do this is because in the update i didnt lose any messages, so all of the people i have met and networked with since that last update those many months ago, i have in my messages listings. They are all unidentified numbers at present but over time i will be able to work through the messages and based on the conversation recall who each was with. Also, yesterday, some two weeks after the update had left my contacts list entirely empty... a vast majority just reappeard, though all of them are without any phone numbers, all just emails or facebook contacts. This is the work of facebook not mac/ios6 isnt it...? Any help here would be greatly apprecaited. I am about 2 days from flying to canada and having those contacts would make life a lot easier.

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

I have a problem with authorized service in İstanbul/Turkey. 6 months ago i had bought 6th generation nano in US. I checked the warranty but it is not expired yet. It has 1 year international warranty. My 6th Nano's screen doesn't work so i can not use it. When i bring my 6th nano to the authorized service in istanbul they didn't take it without receipt. Furthermore they said to me that i had to buy the Nano 6th in Turkey in order to make it repaired in Turkey. What should i do in this case? do i have any possibility to complain the service provider in istanbul to the Apple UK or Apple US?

I got my 4g before he did and mine connected to our wifi first time and i haven't had any problems. my brother got his today and i have tried repeatedly to connect it to wifi but it just wont work. I have tried the same method as i did with mine and i have followed apple's troubleshooting. when i try it just comes up with 'unable to connect'!!!!! please help with suggestions!

Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

You can go into settings and turn sharing off in the programs on the device you don't want to share too.

I just got the new 5th gen. ipod...my brother had an earlier version and therefore had ipod already loaded on the computer. I do not wish to have his library and playlists on my ipod. Nor do i want to look at his music. How do i load my ipod so that the computer will have separate ipod settings. (one for me. one for my brother)
