Error 9
This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

I think that's the way it's supposed to work. When you connect to a computer that has iTunes, but is different from the computer you are normally synced to, you are asked if you want to sync to the current computer. If you say yes, it will replace the content of your iPod with what is designated to sync in the iTunes. If you say no, it will leave your content alone, but you won't be able to load any new songs, but you can still use it in disk mode as a storage device.
The exception is that you can transfer your iTunes store purchases to the new computer from the iPod, but I haven't done that myself. I'm not sure, but I don't think you can transfer non-store tracks, like those you burn from your own CDs. You have to copy those manually and then sync them onto the iPod.
Anyway, that's how it works with a 6th gen and the latest iTunes. Not sure if there is a limitation with 2nd gen.

No matter the website or browser i use. I keep getting this error message when trying to play any video. 'the adobe flash plug in has crashed' I had had theis prolbem well over a month, i have updated flash player and firefox. no change.

I'm not sure that you saw the error msg. included in the kb, but it discusses removing .msi files from previous installations of DM.   Post back and let us know how it goes.

I keep getting graphics errors codes when trying to run simple things

In a nutshell, I bought a laptop, installed the game "Spore", and played it FLAWLESSLY. A couple hours later the computer started acting up, and turns out the hard drive is bad (a scanned it through a usb device on another computer and it had many
bad sectors) So I buy a new Hard drive, install Windows 7 Ultimate on it, and updated the graphics drivers and installed the latest version of DirectX on it, but now when I try to play Spore, I keep getting the error "could not create the graphics device.
Direct X is not available. [1002]" and when I try to use windows movie maker I get the error message: "Windows movie maker cannot start. Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements before trying to start Movie Maker again, and then
try to update the drivers for your video card if Movie Maker still doesn't start."
I used the DxDiag tool and for some reason the apporox total memory (for my graphics card) read n/a.
my standard VGA Graphics Adapter (AMD ATOMBIOS) has up-to-date, Digitally signed drivers
my hardware acceleration is turned all the way up
I have the latest version of DirectX installed
I have an I7, 4GB of RAM, this laptop has incredible modern features.... why can't I get simple things to work when I exceed the system requirements by so far, AND I'VE USED THEM IN THE PAST ON THIS MACHINE???... the
only reason I bought this laptop was so I can use movie maker faster and play games.... Thank you for your tech knowledge....

Windows 7 includes DirectX 11 in its baseline and it is not necessary to install another version of it. Your problems may be caused by the installation of the version of DirectX you installed. Uninstall the one you installed and see if you
still have the errors.

I keep getting this error ssl_error_rx_malformed_alert when trying to load any webpage

I was experiencing a pop up by 'salus' and in trying to rid of it, I reinstalled Firefox. Since doing so, I am unable to open any webpages. I only get the above error. I've discovered a way around it is to first open CCleaner and click on the 'online help' button, by doing this I can access most other webpages I wish to open such as facebook and hotmail and this moxilla support. If I close out the CCleaner, and try to open Firefox, I get the same ssl error.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

I purchased a 2nd hand iPhone 3G and I read to fix the problem of it being stuck on the Apple logo to do a restore. Well, everything was fine and now it won't restore and I get 1015 error. What should i do?

1015 error: There are 4 possible causes of this error:
The activation server truly is unavailable. Rare, usually fixed within minutes.
Your antivirus or firewall or router's firewall is blocking access to
gs.apple.com on ports 80 and 443.
Your iPhone is jailbroken or otherwise hacked.
The computer you connected to during the restore/update was
used to hack/jailbreak some other iOS device, and its
network database was corrupted during the process.
