I have an ipod 4th gen but my clickwheel wont work-help?

I have tried almost everything! My clickwheel has not been working for like a year now. I have tried resetting it, restoring, and all that. What do i do? D:

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.

Will not power on, or will not turn on unless connected to power

After at least 15 minutes, if the display turns on and…
The home screen appears, the device should be working. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen: . Then disconnect the device from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears even after the iPod touch has charged for at least 20 minutes: See the "iPod touch displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or low-battery image appears , continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.

You don't need iTunes Match to have your music in all your devices. iTunes Match is for getting music that you've purchased elsewhere into the cloud. All you need to do is set up each of your devices to your iTunes Store account. You can then download things you've purchased by going to the Purchased section. See:

I tried to update my ipod 4th gen. but when I came to see how much charge the screen was red and it wasnt charged and i cant use my ipod. the screen turned blue also one time, and now the apple logo comes up and its bright then dim and it stays there help

I tried to update my iPod 4th generation while it was charging and when I came back to check on it the screen was red and it wouldnt go off, and my ipod wasnt charging like it was supposed to. I found out how to get the color of the screen off but my ipod always has the low battery thing and when I charge it sometimes the screen turns blue or the apple logo comes up bright and then it gets dim and stays there.
