I have an iPod touch 4g that wont power on

Hi. I just bought a iPod touch 4g second hand. It worked perfectly when i looked at it & when i got it. Ive had it for almost a month & out of the blue it wont power on or show that it is charging. How do i fix this? Is this something that can be fixed? Could it need a new battery or charging port? Please help.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Connect the iOS device to your computer restore via iTunes.  Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I have an IPOD Touch (16GB) that is registered to another computer (PC). I recently got a new computer and I would like to transfer all of my songs, movies, etc. from my old computer to my new one (NEW PC).
How can I transfer all of my data without syncing my ipod touch to my new computer and erasing all the data on it?
Any help that can be offered would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Thanks Jason,
One more thing.... How can I update the software (2.2) on my IPOD Touch with my new computer (PC), without erasing all the songs, and media on my IPOD Touch?
And, how can I sync the applications that were purchased through iTunes on my new computer to my IPOD Touch?
Basically, I just want to make sure that I can now use my new computer with my IPOD Touch without everything being erased everytime. Will everything work normal?
I know..... I asked more than one question.
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • I have 2 ipod touch's that both have frozen screens and will not reset or show up in itunes. They both froze after trying to update to the latest software version. How do I get them to work?

I have 2 touch's that froze when trying to update to the latest ios version. Neither respond to restarting the devices. They are also not recognized in windows or itunes. How do I get these to work. I followed all of the instructions on  the apple website and they still don't work. I have verified that I have apple support for mobile devices installed in itunes and my version of itunes is 11.0.1. I am running windows 7 64bit with service pack 1 installed and all of my updates are current. Is anybody else having this problem with their apple devices?

  • If I don't have an iPod touch, does that mean I can't use ICloud?

I have an iPod mini that still works great.  I got an iPod touch???? (Is that the tiny square one with color display?) as a gift and I can't seem to use both of these with my computer.  Now my PC, yes, I know, has two versions of iTunes installed with different songs in each and I don't know how to get it back to one with all the music in it and figure out how to use both of these devices. I'm going crazy. No, I was not already crazy, I'm going there. Thanks for any assistance.  Oh, my PC is Vista, my mini is currently dead so I can't tell you the op sys, and my touch is missing in action. Too darn small.

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    Hello,
I am currently an owner of an Ipod Touch 4th generation. I see you are having problems with your Ipod Touch, so I will try to find a solution to your problem.
Restart the Computer. This sometimes happens to me when I keep my Windows 7 on Sleep, and I try to sync my Ipod
Make sure you have the latest version of Itunes
    Hope that helps!
If none of the above solutions work, can you please respond back ASAP as I will try to find another solution to your problem (This might even help others with the same problem!)
    Cheers!
