Make a backup of your stuff (from the phone. apps/photos/music/blabla). Update your phone. The phone will restore the backup automatically.

If my partner & I both have an iTunes account, can we home share both or somehow combine the two accounts?

As of right now there is no way to combine Apple accounts.
As for "sharing", you can go into the iTunes settings for each and turn on Home Sharing, this will make your music libraries available to each other, provided you are both using different computers.

The second link in ingo's response is key.  If you husband syncs his device on the same computer, whether under the same apple I'd or not, you can share music( each pick their own based on what they want to carry around) and pictures, and apps.
Updating apps can get tricky, as they will only update to the original apple id that bought them.  But music is fine.
You may need to authorize the new computer if he will be using a seperate apple id.  And make sure you don't just sync everything, or one device or the other will get wiped.  If you want to sync only music, they'll that to I tunes in the tab setting for that device.

  • I have two itunes accounts, can i merge them into one?

I have two itunes accounts, can I merge them?

If you are using a username for your account, you will need to change it to an email address that is required by the system now. If both your accounts are using the same email, you will need to provide another one as you will not be able to use an email for multiple accounts.
    Hope this helps.

I have two itunes accounts can i merge them into one?

You cannot merge iTunes accounts, Apple does not allow it.

  • I have 2 itunes accounts. can I merge to one?

I have 2 iTunes accounts. How can I merge them?

If you mean iTunes libraries, import the content and playlists from the smaller one into the larger.
If you mean Apple IDs, you can’t.

I can't get my playlist from my pc itunes account which has a different name to copy onto my new ipod touch.

    Try:
    - Resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next try placing the iPod in Recovery Mode and then restoring via iTunes.

  • ITunes account, purchases & family share with divorce

My wife, daughter and I each have individual iCloud account but we have been using my account as the iTunes store account for purchasing content. I set up the new Family Sharing option with my account as the master account. What happens if I discontinue that? Will my daughter and wife lose access to previously purchased apps (including one bought before iOS 8)?

You can't have it both ways.  Either you give them the password or you don't give them the password.  All apps (free and paid) require the password.
Option #2 is to give them their own Apple IDs with no credit card attached.  One iTunes on one computer can support multiple IDs.  Similarly one iPod can support multiple IDs.  The only nuisance factor is app updating.  If done from the computer when logged in to the "wrong" ID, it's necessary to log out and back in again.  It's a tad easier if done from the iPods as there is no need to log out/in.  Unfortunately, in both cases the correct password is required so you would have to do the updating for the paid apps.

  • I have two iTunes accounts, can I load content from both onto iPhone

I had an iPod from a couple years ago and and I have an iPhone now. They are under two different iTunes and apple id's. The IPod was stolen from me recently and I was wondering if I can get everything from my iPods account onto iPhone?

    No.  You cannot consolidate.
    Sorry.

  • My wife and I have separate itunes accounts, can I merge the two

My wife and I have seperate accounts, is there a way I can merge the two or have them recongnized as being linked so she can use the itunes match account I set up.

No, sorry, you cannot merge iTunes Store accounts. She can connect her devices to your iTunes Match account, but she'll have to use your Apple ID and password and, to the best of my knowledge, content she purchased via her own iTunes Store account will not be included, though I'm not certain about that.
    Regards.
