I have an Mac OS X version 10.6.8 am i in right community?
I have an imac version 10.6.8 and wondering if i am in the right community....how do i run a tutorial DVD with a file that ends .inf
There are a lot of file types that end in .inf according to:
http://filext.com/alphalist.php?extstart=%5EI
My recommendation would be to right click the file and choose "Open With" and see if you can find an app to open it with. If we knew where the file came from and what it was then we would at least have a clue.

I have a mac OSX desktop version 10.6.8 and all of a sudden I can't get a full screen view in Safari when I ask for help the response is use the arrows on the top right of the screen ... I don't have them ... can anyone help?
Hi Mary,
I don't remember those arrows in 10.6, only 10.7 & up!?
I have 10.6.8, as you do. To make your Safari full screen, make sure you have the left hand side of your safari page moved all the way to the left. Then move your cursor to the BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER of the safari page, and simply drag your page towards the lower right hand corner of the screen. NOTE: you will see a series of lines on the bottom right corner of the page, indicating where to place you cursor arrow.

i have a mac os x version 10.6.8 is that compatible with CC? koz i cant download it & it tell me: You are running an operating system that Photoshop no longer supports. Refer to the system requirements for a full list of supported platforms.
If you look thru the requirements for the applications you are likely to find 10.6 does not meet the tech specs.

I have a Mac OS X version 10.6.8 bought in 2010. When uploading and downloading stuff my computer is all of a sudden slower than usual. The rainbow disc is always appearing and I have to sit and wait for items to finally pop up! Can someone help me figure out how to speed up my computer again? I am just confused to why this is happening all of a sudden. Thank you.
Usually the HDD is the frist place to look. Use the original install disk and start up the MBP with the C key down. Go through the installation process until you see on the display a menu bar on top.
Click on UTILITIES.
From the drop down menu select Disk Utility.
Open Disk Utility>First Aid and run Verify and Repair.
What are the results?

I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.8 and recently got an Iphone4. I can not access Icloud from my computer. Is there any software, new operating system or anything I can purchase that will allow me access to the cloud?
Upgrading to Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
You can purchase Snow Leopard by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will receive physical media - DVD - by mail.
Third-party sources for Snow Leopard are:
Snow Leopard from Amazon.com
Snow Leopard from eBay
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
Be sure your computer meets the minimum requirements:
Apple - OS X Mountain Lion - Read the technical specifications.
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
7. Xserve (Early 2009)
Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps - App compatibility and feature support for OS X & iOS.
Am I eligible for the free upgrade?
See Apple - Free OS X Mountain Lion upgrade Program.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.

i have a Mac OS X version 10.4.11. Can I upgrade to Mountain Lion? If so, what do I need to do? Thx
First, you'll have to determine if your iMac can run Mountain Lion at all. See:
http://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/
If it can - and it would have to be a mid-2007 model; no earlier iMac can run Mountain Lion - then you'll have to get the iMac to Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. From there, assuming your system meets the rest of the system requirements, you can upgrade to Mountain Lion through the Mac App Store.

I have a mac OS x version 10.4.11 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAm. Can I use Crucial 2 x 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAN to upgrade memory?
The downloads are probably .dmg files (disk images). You would open the disk image (double-click it) to find the application or an installer. If it's the application itself, you then drag the application to your Applications folder to "install" it. If it's an installer, double-click the installer to run the installer that installs the application.
NOTE: If you iMac is Intel, it's not a PPC G5. -
I have a mac g5 with version 10.4.11 and wanted to know how to upgrade to version 10.5.8?
If you call Apple at 1 800 MY APPLE, you can get a set of retail replacement discs of OS X 10.5 Leopard.
Apple is supplying these on white DVDs for less than $20.
You'll need to give them your Mac's serial number.
See this link here.

i have a question is it okay to upgrade to OS mavericks? free upgrade? i have a mac book air version 10.8.5,
Shouldn't be a problem if your Mac can run Mavericks > OS X Mavericks: System Requirements
As for Safari. When you say not responding, do you mean it won't open a window, or it won't load websites, or it won't launch at all?
The more details you provide, the easier to help you.
