I have an @me account, but can't get iCloud to acknowledge it

Hello!
Somewhere along the line I acquired an @me account. Was it through MobileMe? Maybe. All I know is, it exists, it's already synced to my Apple ID account so I can login to various things via either @mac or @me, using my Apple ID password.
Thing is, when I try to use iCloud on my laptop, it only gives me the option to *create* a new @me account, not to find an existing account.
I found some instructions online to 'migrate' a MobileMe account to iCloud, but when I use the recommended link, it re-writes itself to take me direct to iCloud.
I should also point out that I've only just been able to get *on* to the dang iCloud, on account of what turned out to be a busted logic board!
So, all in all, I'm not getting much use out of this newfangled iCloud yet. ;p
Can someone explain how to get my @me account into iCloud's tiny brain?

Oh, iDisk! There's a term I recognise. I did have an iDisk account years ago, but nothing's coming up at that public.me.com URL you suggested for what I *think* was my iDisk name.
Similarly, the me.com/move URL doesn't give me any migration options.
Hmm. So, if all I have is a @me.com address (that was perhaps generated automatically from my @mac.com address - are Apple doing that?), how can I convince iCloud to let me use that @me.com account that's already been generated instead of asking me to create a new one?
When I enter the existing @me.com address, it shrewdly tells me that it already exists. Of course!
Any ideas?

Were you able to reset the account's password ? If not then how did you try to get it reset e.g. http://iforgot.apple.com (which would have sent it to the rescue email address if you have one on that account) ? You can also try contacting iTunes Support in your country to get it reset : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
And no, accounts can't be merged nor content transferred between accounts.

I had the same problem and found a bunch of others did, too. Unfortunately all the posts had no responses! Anyway, I previously had my payment method linked to my paypal. I tried changing it to my credit card and it worked. Don't know if there's a bug with using paypal but that seemed to be the culprit for me. Good luck!

Has anyone been able to set up email for other services? I would like to link to a GoDaddy account. Have all the information but can't get it to work.

I have entered the information from GoDaddy under manual setup and the mail app tells me it cannot connect to the server. It does connect to a gmail account, but that is not helpful. I was wondering if anyone has tried linking to GoDaddy or other account manually and what additional steps it takes.

Actually, I was able to connect to an IMAP account from (German mail provider) posteo.de without problems. Not so with FastMail.fm, which is a much bigger service provider than posteo.de, and also pretty much IMAP standard compliant.
Are there different IMAP configurations (all folders on the same level vs. all folders as subfolders of INBOX) that can influence this? And what can be done to connect FastMail to Firefox OS?

I need to get into my old account and get my addresses and then cancel the old account but can not get into it. Had to change my user name when I moved and now I can't get into Firefox. Can't remember the old password. What to do??

I moved during the summer. I changed to highspeedand & when I set my computer up it told me that my email address was already in use so I had to change it(????) I changed from jkady to [email protected] I tried to change it on firefox but it would not except the new name and I could not get into my old account.I need all my addresses and would like to cancel the old account but I can not get into it. This is very frustrating!!!!! I need my addresses!!!!!!!!

I logged in changed the primary E-Mail address to a different one, vertified it then tried to log in it said either to send an E-Mail to veritify again or to do my security questions, so I choose to do the security questions and put in my Birthday like it asked and it said that it was wrong and I had to authenticate it to get in, why is it so hard to just set up a Apple ID really though!
So I tried the E-Mail to and it has not sent me an E-Mail then I tried to log in again and it has locked me out of my account so I try to recover my password and it gave me the same options to get my password back and both options are doing the same as before, it says I don't know my on birth date or it is wrong or needs authenticate it, then the E-Mail doesn't come through!
This is just stupid now.

Syncing contact information and calendar events is done by iTunes with the supported application on your computer, but is not stored by iTunes.
You can sync contact info and calendar events with Outlook 2003 or 2007, or contact info with the Address Book used by Outlook Express with XP, or with the Address Book used by Windows Mail with Vista - the name change for Outlook Express with Vista.
Before syncing contact info with the supported application on your new computer, enter one contact in the address book on your computer. Make one up if needed. If you are syncing with Outlook 2003 or 2007, do the same with a calendar event.
This will provide a merge prompt when syncing this data, which you want to select.
Any photos transferred from your old computer to your iPhone need to be transferred from your old computer to your new computer.

Ok first off, Graffiti LOVE your icon. And you do make complete sense and as for try, I kinda figured that was the case. One folder with all the files ARE in word, yet these are in PDF in another folder. Why they were not all done in Word at the time I have NO clue. I'm going to assume it was the IT guy's idea.
I'm sitting here stressing b/c I can't find a way to do this and now I find out it's not a good idea to have ANYTHING in PDF as well as NOT being able to transfer to word with in reason and to make it look as it did.
So what it boils down to is I will ultimately have to do it individual and convert on my own. Pretty much make a new format in Word and transfer all the information one at a time, GREAT. My 2nd week here at work and this is what I have to look forward to FOREVER lol
I will, however, make me a format I can handle and easy to do, idiot proof as it were.
I appreciate all of your information. In the back of my mind, I knew the answer, but wanted to clarify before going to my supervisor (who has NO clue about computers or the fact some things can't be done. more of why CAN'T I do it, you know) and see what I can do from there.
The man purpose is to have continous access to that file instead of multiples b/c of the IT limiting PDF to 2 pages. YAY for me
