I have an old 23 inch cinema display will it be compadible with the new retina MacBook pro?
So I have an old 23 inch cinema display from 2006 and it's been in our basement for a few years and I'm going to buy the new MacBook pro with retina display I'm wondering if these 2 products will be compatible so I could work at my desk the display Powers up fine I just need to know if they're compatible ?
Assuming your 23" Cinema Display has a DVI connector or a built-in DVI cable, all you'll need will be a mini-displayport-to-single-link-DVI adapter or cable, and the display should work well.

Mail transfer from the old macbook to the newer retina macbook pro
Hey, My father moved from an old macbook to the new retina macbook pro about 2 months back. Now as he is a business man he requires all his emails from his old mac onto the new macbook. The problem is to integrate his old mail data with 2 months of his current mail data.
All the instructions i have yet found online only seem to be for a new macbook where all the mail data and preferences could be transfered.
Thanks in advance,

I have the new retina MacBook Pro. I made an iMovie but there's no idvd. How do I make a dvd from my iMovie?
Apple no longer sells iDvd. You will have to purchase an older version of iLife that has iDvd on it or use a third party application such as Toast from Roxio.

I noticed that the new MacBook pros with retina displays have less processing power, and memory that then older non retina 15 inch. Why is that?
Are you perhaps talking about a similarly spec'd 15" current gen non-retina against a 15" current retina? If so, then yes, there is a very small subtle difference when benchmarks are measured. It's possible that Apple is downclocking the chips just a tad to keep temperatures in check, but at the same time, it could also be all the extra pixels taking up more processing power and causing the small difference.
I too have seen the same articles from benchmarking websites when the retinas came out. -
I Bought my Apple thunderbolt display around 2 years ago now, tougther with my MacBook pro. I am thinking of switching my MacBook out tough with a new one this summer.
But will the new 2013/2014 macbook's work with my thunderbolt display???
/NikolajYes. The New Retina MacBook Pro has two Thunderbolt ports. Plug the display into one of the Thunderbolt ports.
You will need a MagSafe adapter.

What is the difference between the new 13" MacBook Pros and the previous version of the 13" MacBook Pro? I purchased an "old" one from Best Buy the day before the announcement of the new models.
See the specs:
Compare Notebooks - Apple Store (U.S.)
Compare with your model. If you are within 14 days of purchase you can exchange for the new model for the difference in price, if any. Be sure to have all the original packaging and your receipt. -

iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music [library] to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

I have the new 2011 macbook pro, with lion preinstalled. I want to change the harddrive. I have backed up everything on time machine. when i put my new blank hard drive in will the lion screen startup. How do i get the lion dmg when i am already using lion
NicholasLiban -
When you use the Lion restore as described, it does a fresh install on the hard drive that you can select at the beginning of the process. This provides a complete install of the very latest version of Lion, including the recovery partition. The drive that you choose for the installation destination winds up like what you would have on a brand new computer from Apple.

I installed CS6 on my new retina MacBook pro laptops. InDesign and Acrobat display document pixilated. I ran the updates and it fixed Illustrator and Photosho, but not InDesign and Acrobat. What can I do to make them display in high resolution? HELP!
InDesign CS6 is not optimized for retina displays. You’ll need to move to Creative Cloud for retina compatibility.

I have problem when transferring book (PDF/Epub) from Computer to iPad with the new iTune? Please Help....
With iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via control-S on a PC, option-command-S on a Mac. If you are trying to get it to the iBooks app then with the sidebar enabled the process should be similar to how it was on previous versions of iTunes e.g. add it to your iTunes library via File > Add To Library, connect the iPad and select it on the left-hand sidebar, and then use the Books tab on the right-hand side to select and sync it to the iBooks app.

I have not bought the iMac yet but will do so very soon and just want to make sure I have what I need to get everything setup including adding the old faithful 2005 30" cinema display. Currently I am driving the old 30" cinema display with a macbook pro also purchased 2005 and happy to say I got a lot of good miles out of this rig. What's the best way to connect the old 30" monitor as a second display for the new generation iMacs?
Other Questions
I can find online new in unopened box a 2012 iMac 27" i7 with 1T Fusion Drive for $1899 no sales tax. This seems like a pretty good deal since I notice the same is available from Apple refurbished for $100 more plus sales tax. I know that they say the Fusion drive is a lot faster on 2013 models but some of the speed tests I reviewed online showed the 2012 i7 and 2013 i7 very close on speed for both storage and processing. Any thoughts?
I don't like changing batteries so I would buy a separate Apple keyboard with numeric pad since it only comes with wireless keyboard. I'm a trackpad enthusiast having been using my macbook pro trackpad with current set up; and I am prepared to buy the Apple trackpad and replace batteries every 2 months but I would greatly prefer USB connection and rechargeable trackpact. I know Logitech makes one so if anyone is using and knows how it compares to Apple's I'm all ears.<http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5891>
You can use USB for the Apple trackpad.
