I have an old itunes account and the music won't play on my new account

I have an old itunes account that I downloaded on my computer about 100 songs. I since then have started a new account and now my old music will not play at all and it says that my old itunes account has been locked out by itunes. What gives? I have over $100 worth of music I cannot access on my own computer?!
PLEASE HELP!!!

Why? Just update the info for your old account and continue to use that.
When you create new accounts, it's highly probable you will run into problems (as you can see).

More likely it says that your iTunes account has been locked for security reasons and that you need to contact the iTunes store to unlock it.

Why would you create a new account?
All purchases will be tied to the account from which they were purchased.
You will have to authorize your computer for all the accounts from which music is purchased.

I suspect that you are saying that you can't download/install the latest version of iTunes.
All I can say is try removing and reinstalling the Apple software using the following:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
If you have further problems with installing Itunes I suggest you post in the iTunes forum since you have an iTunes problem, not an iPod problem. Also report the wording of any error messages. What they say is importent on resolving them.

and, what is even more strange...
I actually bought 2 Billy Joel songs NY State of Mind from Essential Billly Joel and Italian Restaurant from Greatist Hits vol 1. Neither song would play.
I went back the Apple store and tried to re-download NYSOM. It let me do it for free. Before I checked I tried to re-dowload IR but inadvertantly selected same song but from The Stranger. I had to pay for this one. The re-downloaded NYSOM still didn't work but IR I bought from Stranger worked. So, I bought NYSOM from Greatest Hits vol 1. Didn't work!!! Tried again and bought from another album, Turnstiles, and that one worked. So, I bought 5 songs, only 2 of which will work.
So, now I ask - is there any way to get my money back?

I just downloaded and updated the newest version of iTunes. After updating I downloaded some new music and synced the iPod. The music doesn't play. It'll play about 30 seconds of the song and then skip automatically to the next song. I restarted the iPod. I restored it. It still didn't work. Then I tried listening to the music from my laptop straight from iTunes...and it's still doing it.
How do I fix it?

I'm assuming the tracks that won't play copy/are displayed with exclamation marks. This happens if the files are no longer where iTunes expects to find them. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

How far away are you walking? Bluetooth has a range of 10 metres - less if there are walls and other obstacles in the way.

I can't reset the password to my security questions since I don't have an rescue email. And I don't want to start a new account because I just put a $25 iTunes card on it. Is there any way I can do a rescue email without having to call.

I don't think I would have time to sit down and actually talk on the phone to do this that is why I would like to do it over email.

I don't want to leave anything out but I don't want to waste my time with updating on my old machine if I don't need to.

Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device. Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.

As for you own music and contents, you may have to use a third party software to copy over. A good Free one is called Sharepod which you can download from Download.com here:

Thanks for the response. Do you have more specified instructions to which you can direct me? This sounds "too easy." I had a problem once before consolidating libraries (when moving the music from my hard drive to an external hard drive on my old computer). I missed one small step and it was a nightmare!

Transferred all files to new computer. My iTunes does not find my music. The "scan for media" button doesn't work and I cannot get the iTunes to see the music that is clearly on my new computer.

I am stumpted. I transferred and have all my music in my iTunes folder on my new computer and I also have it on an external hard drive. I've added the new computer to the list of authorized computers and followed the "advanced" preferences options to select my iTunes folder and still nothing happens. No music, no playlists, NOTHING. here's the thing: I'm trying to desperately finish my homework and I need to download a song so the teacher can play it in class. So all the songs on my nano aren't good. Don't get me wrong, I'm not new and I love iTunes! The problem is is that I bought and downloaded the song, and it won't play from the iTunes. I tried to play it out of purchased songs, and that didn't work. So I tried to listen to it out of my library, and that didn't work either. Please Help!!!!!!!

You really needed to post this in the Nano forum. Make sure all of your software (iTunes/Quicktime) is up to date. You didn't post the type of computer you have or the OS so I can't help there.
Also, start iTunes, go to the Store menu on top, and Deauthorize your computer. After you do this, try to play the song on your computer. When prompted enter your Apple ID and password. Resync the song to your iPod.
