I have an old Nano and I am attempting to transfer the music to my new iPhone. I have a new Apple ID for the iPhone (and the same one is used on my IPAD). My problem is that the Nano usesthis old Apple ID and my password does not work.

I cannot get access through the online security as when it requests my birth date, it informs that it is wrong (I got it right). ANd, when i attempt to do it via email, I don;t get the email in either of the only 2 accounts that I ahve ever had.
Any ideas?

Time to contact Apple support directly and have them assist you with resetting the password.

Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.

After a HD failure on my 2009 iMac,, fittgyed new oner, installedf os (tiger), from original disk, restored all documents etc. changed password with disk utility. over 48 hrs re3setting permissions so switched off. all seemed ok. downloaded combined os updates. I appreciate the info and realize that the Nook App is not related to my Apple account but this too has stopped working. My situation first started with the Nook App not down loading and then has now spread to my IBook and new app downloads. I have checked into my ITunes account and the ID and password are correct and at times when I am asked to submit my Apple password such as setting up this Apple Support Community the ID and password work. My problem seems to be just with trying to use my ID and password when wanting to download new books or apps. I can go into the IBook, Nook, and App stores and seemingly download an item but when clicking on the new book or app nothing happens and I get a message that states it can not get into the ITunes store and it wants me to either try again or cancel. This message appears usually ten minutes after I have tried to make a purchase. At other times when I attempt to download a book or app I lose the screen and the IPad goes into the opening screen. Short of redoing my Apple account or deleting an app and attempting to reload the app (but this won't work because the App store won't load new apps) I don't have a clue what to do.

I am trying to backup my iPhone on my new iMac iTunes. It is currently backed up on my PC and encrypted. Both PC and iMac iTunes have Encrypted backup selected. My password does not work for either iMac or PC. Should I go ahead and try to backup to my iMac iTunes.

Sorry to hear about your phone jb111jb! We'll do everything we can to help find the best route! The only way to remove the password is flashing the device, but that will erase all the content. Have you ever backed up using Verizon Cloud or Google Sync? Do you have a memory card?

IPad was set up under fathers work email. Father passed away and I continued to use his pw for upgrades. Went to upgrade this time and password does not work. Changed his profile email to mine and tried to update pw it could not answer a security code. Creted new accounts, changed pws yet still asking for his work email pw which no longer works

When I check in the capture scratch folder, sure enough the whole clip is not there!
Is there some glitch in final cut express that only allows short clips to be transferred in full?

I did this and it was already unchecked. So this is not the answer...
The strange thing is, I have been logging and transferring with FCE for 2 yrs without any problems at all with shorter clips, but have come up against the problem with long clips (over 5 or so min) the whole time. I got around it by simply making sure I stopped recording after less than 5 min while shooting footage. OR if I accidentally got a long clip, I import into imovie and then import into FCE. Not very streamline and I worry about compressions altering quality!
I am now trying to import a 20 min and a 17 min clip and it only transfers around 3 minutes of each, I have re-tried several times and it happens repeatedly. The blue circle in the transfer list shows up as a half blue circle instead of full. Clip cuts off after 3 or so minutes.

Stick the OS X 10.6 install disk and reboot the computer holding c down.
Second screen in is a Utilities menu with Password Reset, try that.
