  • I currently have an old version of Photoshop - CS, is it possible to upgrade?

I currently have an old version of Photoshop - CS, is it possible to upgrade to a newer version? It keeps crashing on my new Mac (Macbook Pro 2GHz Intel Core i7 running OSX version 10.6.8) and I don't use photoshop that much (probably once per month to design gig flyers) so I cannot justify spending $1,168 for the current version of CS6. I don't want to try and learn a new product either, I just want to be able to use Photoshop without it crashing. Please help!

From CS - CS6, there is no upgrade option possible. The last version that Adobe lets you upgrade from is CS3 (that too, till December 2012). Adobe usually supports current minus 2 versions for upgrade support.
In your case, you should buy a full version - yes I know it is expensive and having said that you need it only once a month, I don't know what to advice here.
Regarding CS not running on 10.6.8, are you getting any specific error codes/ numbers/ crash reports? If so, can you please post that here so we can see what may be going wrong?
While I doubt CS will work on OS 10.4 or 10.5+ (I've never used it), I can't say it never will work either. The only way to tell is to see a crash report to see what is going wrong.

  • I have an older version of photoshop and now it its asking me for and unlock code.

I have an older version of photoshop and now it is asking me for an unlock code to view my pictures.. I did that years ago when I first started using it and have not had a problem. I am trying to get pics onto a flas drive or online photoshop and it is not letting me. Any one have any suggestions?

Photoshop files and any image files are stored on your hard drive, not in the program. You can get to the files on your file manager just by searching.
As for the "unlock code" that would most likely be the serial number. What version of Photoshop are you running? You would have to find the package it came in. If by chance you registered your copy with Adobe, it should be under your account.

  • Transfer of albums from old version of photoshop to a newer

I have used version 4.0 of Photoshop elements previously. I have saved a copy of my old hard disk, including the installation of Photoshop 4.0, on an external hard disk drive. I would like to transfer my albums, tags etc from my old version of Photoshop to my new Photoshop 9.0 on my new computer. How can I do that? Photshop 9.0 was pre-installed on my new computer before delivery to me.

The normal method is to use the back-up and restore facility built into Elements. That is different to making a copy of everything. However the PSE4 database is different to the PSE9 database. If your old computer is still working it will probably be easier to install a copy of PSE9; then convert the old catalog to the PSE9 version. Then make a PSE9 back-up and use the TLY file within it to restore everything on to the new computer.

  • How do I install an old version of photoshop on a new computer? [was:Photoshop]

How do I install an old version of photoshop on a new computer?

    So you can install.
Which version are you installing? Which operating system?
The real issue here seems to be that your serial number is not being accepted?
Are you entering the correct serial number?

  • I have an old version of Photoshop CS2 which I purchased in discs and want to install on my new computer but don't have the  discs can I copy it from my old laptop?

Is there anyway to install my old version of Photoshop CS2 onto my new mac without the discs?

Adobe took down their old Activation servers so you can not activate installing CS2 from your CD.  Adobe made available a new download of CS2 that uses their new Activation servers for activation their old CS2 customers can download and install.
Download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products

  • I have an old version of Bonjour and can not download itunes

I am tring to down load Itunes, on my computer that is running window XP, when down load is almost finish it say error that there is an old version of Bonjor on computer and can not download itunes 11.

    Hello there korteas63,
I was looking into the issue you are describing and found an article that I think may be helpful for us here. It sounds like we need to remove ALL components of iTunes, and any of its associated services like Bonjour.
First this article will help you remove iTunes and its services, named Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Steps
    1. Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order. Then, restart your computer.
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended effects.
If you need more detailed steps on removing and these components, refer to the following steps:
    2. Verify iTunes and related components are completely uninstalled In most cases removing iTunes and its related components from the Control Panel will remove all supporting files belonging to those programs.  In some rare cases those files may be left behind. After following the previous steps, you should confirm that the following files and folders have been removed and if any are left behind, remove them now:
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
    C:\Program Files\iTunes\
C:\Program Files\iPod\     Note: Follow the additional steps at the end of this article if you receive the alert "Cannot delete iPodService.exe: It is being used by another person or program" when trying to delete this folder.
    C:\Program Files\QuickTime\
    C:\Windows\System32\QuickTime
    C:\Windows\System32\QuickTimeVR
If you aren't sure how to remove these files, you can follow these detailed steps:
When those steps are completed go ahead and try installing iTunes again. Use this article to troubleshoot installing iTunes if the issue persists, Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows from here
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926.
    Cheers,

  • Adobe and my new Macbook Air won't let me read trusted website docs

I have bought a new Macbook Air.  I migrated all the info from my old Mac but had to download Adobe again.  It now won't let me read website docs that I trust.  I guess I have to alter the filters but I'm not very good at this so need some help please?

    You should be using 11.
10 was from the days of Snow Leopard.
Download AppZapper (it's a free trial)
    Install it and open it.
Drag the Adobe reader app from your Applications folder to the AppZapper window.
"Zap" it and anything else in the window to the trash.
    Close and quit AppZapper.
Go to: Mac HD/Library/ Internet Plugins
Trash the AdobePDFviewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin files.
    Empty the trash.
Download the Reader XI FULL installer here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
Quit your browser and run the installer.

  • I have an old version of Photoshop (CS1) that requires activation but there's no way to activate it. How can I bypass this?

I don't use Photoshop much so I've never upgraded. I've had it for probably 10 years and my PC recently crashed so I had to reinstall it. The last time I installed it on this machine I had the same problem so I called support and they gave me a workaround. However, they no longer support activation issues over the phone. Anyone have any suggestions?

CS and CS2's activation servers were closed down. Adobe has provided free of charge to you a non-activation copy of Photoshop CS2.
You go to this site, download the installer and be very sure to get the serial number next to it, because your old serial number is no longer good.

  • I have an old version of photoshop cs, on PC from 2003.

Never had any difficulty to register it before, But, now, the activation server is not available for the moment please try again later. The phone number provided for offline activation doesn't work either. This version is perfect for my needs, I don't want to buy a new one... don't have this kind of money to throw out of the window. how does it work now?
