Its an Old Ipod, give me a break... just get a new one, or leave it always plugged in
You could also get a new battery (but its not worth it... just buy a whole new unit)

I just got a brand new ipod touch 4g from Singapore and i've been using it for four days now.During these four days i couldn't help but appreciate the device's brilliance and i have to admit it ***** when it comes to battery backup. I use ios 4.3.5 and what i've notced was that my ipod drains way too fast..which is very annoying after having spent so much on the devie, one can't afford to compromise on the battery department. please help me

It may be a defective battery. Try these solutions. It helped me..
1. Go to settings > general > Reset > Reset All Settings.
(This will not erase any data. However it will reset all you configured settings [password, brightness, etc.] on you device)
2. Visit a apple Store near you
3. Call Apple at 1-800-MY-APPLE (Free if your complimentary 90-Day call support is active)
4. Send it in for service at Apple.com/support

Will pick a song on ipod touch and then it will randomly play another song. Is there a fix for this?

My daughter's ipod. I know little about them.
She will select a song to play and then it randomly plays a different song. Often with the picture for the original song displayed. We've tried resetting and no better.

I had the same problem with my iPad, i couldn't get the newer version of itunes because the computer was too old and my iPad couldnt sync with the old itunes. I got a PC from school a few months later so that solved the problem for me. Unfortunately i don't think there would be a program to put your music on your iPod, iTunes should be the only way to transfer files to Apple devices. What operating system are you running and what version of it is it?

If yu can't turn it off, then let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try again.
If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and service is required.

The only way you're going to get facetime is if you purchase your device is a country that hasn't banned its use. However, I'm not sure if it'll even work if you do that. As in the program is disabled on the server level....for example I can bring my US device into Saudi but Facetime will not work until I get outside of the country's borders.
Skype is a program that's often mentioned as a work around for that country's ban on Facetime. (I know it exists for iPad, not sure if there's an iPod version)

Leave it alone for an hour and try the reset procedure again. Make sure you're using a genuine Apple charger & cable in a known good wall outlet. You can also try another cable if necessary, and make sure the charging area is clean and free of fluff & debris.

my iPod touch wont charge when connected to my lab top but it isnt the usb cord or port because it works for a different iPod and my computer wont recognize my ipod.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer

My ipod touch still makes noises but the sound is off

My ipod touch sound is down at the side and in all my settings the volume is off for things like taking photos,locking and plugging my ipod in to charge but it make the noises but i dont understand why?!

Head to Settings -> Sound and make sure the Keyboard Clicks setting is set to Off.
