I have aol as my start up when my computer starts up.How do I make firefox mine instead?
When i bought the computer it had aol already installed.I want firefox as my main thing.When i turn on my computer I want it to go straight to firefox not aol.How do i do this.
After migrating your whole user account from another computer you will be left with 2 user acounts on the target computer.
The best way to keep just the new user account is to log into the account you want to keep, then go into system preferences > users&groups (Accounts if using snow leopard) then delete the other account.
(Make sure you have a backup of any files you wish to keep on that user account if any)
If you wanted to just merge particular files from one computer to another instead of creating two user accounts you would be better off using the good old drag and drop method instead of migration assistant.

If I put my MacBook Air to sleep with Firefox as the top application, when I wake the computer, Mail will jump to the top. If Mail is on top when the computer sleeps, when I wake the computer, Firefox will leap to the top.
This has only happened for the last week or two; the two aps have otherwise coexisted peacefully for the last couple years.

When opening a new tab, how do I make firefox automatically switch to it?
Pressing Control+T or the "+" button next to tabs will open the new tab. However, I want the new tab to be automatically selected when it is generated.
Right clicking links and Opening in new tab works fine.For me, it was caused by the Fox Tab add on. I disable it and the 'problem' goes away, enable it and it's back..
I guess Fox Tab (1.4.2b) is not (fully) compatible with Firefox 5 yet. -

That worked, thanks. When I turn on the pc, I almost always go to the internet before anything else, so this eliminates one step. It doesn't seem to save any time, however, but it is easy. If anyone else wants to try this, it looks like it's very easy to undo if you change your mind.

2.) Navigate from Menu bar "File" -> "Plugin for Safari" -> "Uninstall".
I could not find it in either Library/Internet Plug-ins nor ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins as others have suggested.

When I drag and drop a website onto my desktop, how can I make Firefox use the icon native to that website instead of the default firefox icon?
I have even gone painstakingly (SEVERAL TIMES) to the sites with IE, dragged the site onto my desktop in order to obtain the site native icons for my desktop (and deleted the ones with the Firefox icon) .... but they all soon revert to the default Firefox icon.

I want to keep Firefox as my default browser.
So I want to know how to make Firefox accept the icon that comes from the website like IE does.
I have even gone to the trouble to use IE to create the shortcuts with the site specific icons.....but after I do that...... FIREFOX CONVERTS THEM TO THE FIREFOX DEFAULT ICON as soon as I re-boot or refresh my desktop.
I generally prefer Firefox as a browser....but If there's no fix.....I'm going to dump Firefox. -

Thank you for your time Woody. Recently the Mac seems to freeze a lot, seemingly due to a problem with the airport, especially if the computer is inactive for anything more than a few minutes. Then yesterday I suddenly couldn't send or receive messages so I got in touch with my server and they reconfigured the mail account. I can now receive messages but can't send them, always getting a timed out message when I try to send an email. I phoned the server again and they said it must be a problem with Mail as we tried sending a message online from the server's webpage and it worked fine, so they suggested I reinstall Mail. So hence my original question. Sorry for the rambling! I'm not very computer minded.

In the past, when I sent a web link on Firefox, my gmail address book would pop up. Thunderbird had an update today, but I'm thinking it may have been a virus. Now, when I try to send a link out of Firefox Mozilla, Thunderbird launches and I don't want that to be my default.
Google search and other websites have a user preference that can be set to open a search result in a new tab or a new window, for users who are logged in to their website.
Otherwise, when you don't have a 3-button mouse or a scroll pad with "middle-click" functionality, you can use '''{Ctrl + Click}''' to open a hyperlink in a new Tab. -

The downloads available at adobe are mostly the trials for older versions and for PSE 6 you couldn't activate the trial by entering a serial number so it wouldn't help you any.
