I have AOL email but prefer to use mozilla search engine - do I have to load AOL on my computer ?

having both loaded on my computer just takes up too much space. my problem has been that when I try to send email via a website I have visited, it automatically tries to use OUTLOOK even though AOL has been designated as my preference. to solve this, I loaded AOL as well and have not had the problem since.

Can we suggest any what? I'm not sure what you're asking here.
It looks like you're already using the newest versions of Firefox and Flash player, so you should be able to use YouTube just fine (even on an old Mac).

Yahoo is better than Google right now. While using Google as a search engine and logged into Yahoo-mail the page elevator (up& down) bar actually freezes, a dead giveaway that something is up. It's hard to tell from your description what is going on, but try this first.
Quit Safari. If it won't quit in the usual way, select
 ▹ Force Quit...
from the menu bar, then select Safari from the list and press return.
Relaunch Safari by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. That will stop the bad page from reloading automatically. From the menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove all website data
to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server. Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize.
Also get rid of the useless Norton crapware, after backing up all data.

This must be due to some kind of degredation of the Ipod. . It is not fixed by IOS resets as others have noted.

Why does the message '500 internal server error' appear when I use any search engine?

I am able to type a web address and use the internet successfully but when using ANY search engine I get the '500 internal server error' message. Why, when using a search engine i.e. Google or Bing does Firefox 'hang' and not allow any input

When I use a search engine i.e. Google or Bing, the site and Firefox crashes or 'hangs' and does not allow any action to be taken. Even if the window has been closed, Firefox continues to run but cannot be seen by 'Task Manager' resulting in me having to restart my Laptop in order to use Firefox again.
Note: This only happens with Firefox, other browsers work fine with these sites.

Help ! I am connected to my WIFI and receiving email but I cannot use any apps that require internet including Safari, What do I need to do?

I don't think I can replicate your results without knowing your keywords. I tested using ''used cars'' and got quite a bit of variation.
If I search from the Firefox about:home page, I get this results page URL:

I get slightly different ads, and in the right column, a different order; in some cases the same advertiser has different text.
In IE 8 using the search box, I get:

The ads are slightly different again. In all 3 cases, Google is detecting my IP address city and effectively serving localized ads.

It seems to freeze EVERYTIME idk if this is due to fire fox 4 being incompatible with the yahoo browser. but it freezes when it uses that search engine

Ahh, the toolbar is still on system. I thought ComboFix got it. I think I'll uninstall Mozilla prior to initiating the fix procedures you linked. The extracare service tech support I'm paying Frontier (ISP) isn't worth a lick. After I thought I had removed, I called them and had my system scoured by them. May need to cancel that $14.90/month service...seems to have been a waste.

Firefox default start page uses facemoods search engine instead of google

Hi, I have issue with Firefox. Today I’ve notice that when I’m using search option on default Firefox 4.0 start page (about:home), results are displayed with Facemoods search engine instead of Google. I have uninstalled Facemoods from system and Firefox, yet it didn't work.

I haven't heard of this one before. The uninstall must have left behind a few settings.
The page corresponding to "about:home" must be set in a hidden preference. You can search for and reset it using the about:config feature.
(1) Type or page '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter (click the button promising to be careful, and please be careful)
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''facemoods''' and pause while Firefox searches
(3) The bolded lines show changes from the original Firefox setup. Some you might want to save, but mostly you would want to reset them to default. Right-click each one you want to change and choose Reset.
