Do you have multiple albums, in your iTunes library on your computer? If so... Multiples are normally created by:
Puchasing 1 song, then the full album a different day for example.
Or if the artist contains something like Jessie J ft B.O.B, where the rest the album is classed as Jessie J.
To solve multiple albums on your iTunes library:
CTRL > Mouse Click > Get Info
Under the Tab Info > Under Artist > Delete ft B.O.B, and leave the name >Jessie J< No Spaces between the arrows, this will then join the song to the rest of the album Jessie J, and will be under one album cover.

Yes it would, possibly even brick it.
Have successfully connected my ipod nano with iTunes so looks like the device driver is working.
Can I use my ipod nano USB connector to check?
It is not much help to you, since the device that you need still not recognized.
Anyway looks like I may have to swallow the loss of data. Have set-up a call for tomorrow with Apple support so will wait until after this before doing the factory restore!

Adding songs, they copy to iTunes music folder, but don't show up in my lib

I recently built a new computer, and wanted to put my music on it from my external hard drive, which contained my "iTunes Music Folder" from my old computer. However, when I add music from my external hard drive to my new computer's hard drive, it says it's copying it to the iTunes Music Folder (on my new comp), and says that it's "Analyzing Gapless Playback" and the like, but the only problem is, the music doesn't show up on my Library! And I've looked, all the music copied to the new iTunes Music Folder, but my library (in the iTunes program itself) remains a blank list! Does anyone know what the problem is, and what I can do to fix it? Thanks in advance.

I have a Dell that's running Windows XP. I have found that itunes is very temperamental. this works most of the time... except on my son's computer that's running Windows Vista.
Go to your library in iTunes. Then go up to file and try one of the options (import, add folder to library, or add file to library).
Adding a folder is the least work. You can add all the files from a folder with one click... if it works. Remember that itunes is temperamental.
If that doesn't work, try adding a file. The problem with that is that you have to go through the whole process for each and every file (song, movie, etc).
Sometimes the only thing that works is to import.
I haven't gotten iTunes to work on my son's computer (Windows Vista).
I can't get support from apple in any way at all! They are good about creating electronics that appeal to us But they are lousy at support. If anyone figures out how to access support (where you can actually contact Apple) please let me know ([email protected]). I've been trying for 6 months.

Can I have two identical iTunes Music Folders for my Laptop and my desktop

I have an iMac Flower Power, 20GB of HD running OSX 10.2.8 as my desktop, 2 users, with an 80GB External HD (Firewire). I also have my new MacBook. Right now all my music and pictures are in my MacBook and I have BUps of everything in my external HD. My problem is that when I'm away, my wife can't listen to our music with the iMac 'cause I have all the files (iTunes is using the Library located at my Laptop). My questions are... Can I have 2 identical iTunes Music Folders, one in the XHD and one in my MacBook? How can I do to have both Folders sycronized so when I add music being away with my Laptop, then when I get back home the "home" Folder gets updated with the new music or viceversa? I have an iPod but I want to have the ability to also change the playlists in my iPod when I'm away. I hope this is not too hard to do.

This is what I did: First, I backed up my iTunes Music Folders. Then, I disconnected my xternal HD from my iMac and connected it to my MacBook where I had my iTunes Music Folder. Then, I copied the whole iTunes Music Folder to my xternal HD. Then I ejected the xHD from my MacBook, and connected back it to my iMac and restart. When the iMac was up I sent to the trash all the content of the iTunes Folders in my iMac, there is one in the root directory /Documents/iTunes and another in /Users/Home/Music/iTunes. Be aware that you need to "clean" the iTunes Folder which includes the iTunes Music Folder. Then I went to the xHD and copied the iTunes Library file (the data file) to /Users/Home/Music/iTunes Folder in my iMac, then open iTunes. After doing that you should be able to open your iTunes program in your desktop without having your laptop conected to your network. The only thing is that, in order to keep both libraries identical, you have to update podcasts in both computers every day, and import CD's in both computers every time you add one to your library, if you want to have the same thing in both computers. There might be another way to keep them both syncronized but I'm still searching for it. Make sure after you have your iTunes running, to go to Preferences/Advance, and set up you iTunes Music Folder Location exactly where you want it. I hope this help you guys. Because of different local copyright laws and licensing you cannot keep everything exactly the same except for iCloud, which is not affected. You will have to create a new Apple ID for use on the UK iTunes Store with a form of payment drawn on a local bank and an address in the UK. As long as you have downloaded all your purchases and the computer is still authorized to play all protected video content that won't change, however Apps may give you trouble when updating because once associated with an Apple ID you can only switch between stores every 90 days.
As for iTunes Match you must contact Australian iTunes Store support to cancel the subscription and you will have to resubscribe on the UK store.

Thanks for the reply. The Itunes trouble shooting in Itunes help. I don't get an error message, it just states can't see ipod like if it wasn't plugged in. I do get an error message on a few of the songs when sync that say error 50, and state that they can't be loaded to ipod. The weird thing is that I can load all of my libary except the latest 3 albums. They are in my libary but they won't load. I'm not sure but it seems like it started when the cloud came about from amazon which is where I buy most of my music.

You can't change it. It's red to warn you not to tap it.
You don't need to worry. If you accidentially did tap it, you would see a message like the first image below (this is an example from an iPhone). As you can see, you have the option to tap Cancel. And even if you didn't, the next thing you would get is a message like the second image below, which gives you a second chance to tap Cancel. And if you choose Delete from My iPad on the second prompt, it would still only delete the account and your synced data from your iPad, not from iCloud. It would be synced back to your iPad if you signed back in.
If you're worried about your contacts, download the app My Contacts Backup and use it to back up your contacts as an attachment to an email. Send the email to yourself and keep it on your computer. You can later open the email on your iPad and tap the attachment to import your contacts back to your iPad should you ever need to.

I don't think so. The only other ID I have is a developer id, and I didn't get that until several months after I got the phone. In addition purchases I made from the App Store onthe phone would sync up with It unes on the Mac meaning it would be the same id.
However I looked at the AppStore on my phone while it was connected to the Mac with iTunes open, and now the balance has changed to the same as the others.

I have a similar problem. I recieved an IPAD for my birthday, and my daughter updated my itunes library so i can use it with the ipad...and somehow all my songs (unpurchased from itunes, and downloaded from a large collection of CDs) ...and play lists were deleted. I still have them on my old ipod, and wonder how to get them back onto my computer so I can redistribute some of them to the ipad. You can only buy content from your own country's store - to be able to buy from another country's store you need a valid billing address in that country and be in that country when buying from it

2) Copy the downloaded IOS 5 to the firmware locations stated in the link above.
3) Start itunes and update. It will take 2-5 hours to update your iPhone to IOS5.

The gift would be sent via email to the address you gave when you set up the gift. Have you checked that email account? If so and nothing has appeared, make sure there aren't any anti-spam filters in place that might be blocking emails from Apple. Then if you still don't see the email, try resending the gift:

Having a credit balance won't prevent you from entering in a new payment method. A balance remaining would be an issue only if you're trying to change the country of your iTunes Store account. If your payment method is being rejected, then either it's invalid - a debit card which are in many countries not accepted, or a credit card from another country - or there's something amiss with your account. In the latter instance, or if the gift still doesn't come through, contact the iTunes Store and request assistance.

I assume that you've checked all your homescreens by swiping the screen to the left, and that you havn't filled up the maximum number of screens, which I think is 12 (in which case you will only be able to find them via the search screen - and have you tried typing in their names on the search screen ?).
Also how did you install them : by syncing from your computer or downloading them straight onto the device ? If you synced them then if Settings > General > Restrictions > Installing Apps is set 'off', then change it to 'on'.
You could also try a reset to see if they appear after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
