That does happen. It depends on how hard the server is being hit, as well as the connection speed of your system. If you are on a windows system, you will want to disable any antivirus or firewall software during the download.

I bought a movie on itunes and when i try to play it on my apple tv it says the device is not autorized. My apple tv is the older one with an actual hard drive that is full. Tha apple tv is logged into my itunes account.
ATV2 does not have permanent storage. The rental is flushed when the device is turned off or other content accessed. You would need to use your computer to rent (and home-share to ATV) if you wish to store for a later time.

Try to navigate to that page starting with its home page in case you are using a bookmark.
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

It seems that recent additions to my iTunes library are not available for download to my (or my son's) iphone - other albums by the same artist are available.

If the old ID ("email address) is yours, and is an ealier version of your current iCloud ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

My old MobileMe account surfaced when I was on a support call. I didn't discover it until the case was closed. How can I replace this obsolete account with my current iCloud account?
Do you mean that you were using the Apple ID which is your ex-MobileMe address? It's still an Apple ID, even though MobileMe itself is dead, and there's nothing to stop you from using it as an ID with Support, or logging in here or in iTunes with it. You should make sure you have a functioning non-Apple email address associated with it.
Did you migrate your MobileMe account to iCloud before 1 August last? If so, you can set up an iCloud account using it, or if you have already set up a new and separate iCloud account you can still log in with it in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars so that it runs alongside your iCloud account.
If you didn't migrate you can still reactivate the address the same way.
Anything where you've logged in with the ex-MobileMe address, such as support for something you registered using it or a server such as iTunes, will need to continue using it. -

thats tough man, yeah exchanging it is the best option. But why do people always leave a message saying" i'll probably just by an ipod" and it's usually followed by, "even though i don't like apple or ipod" . I mean fine, if u feel like giving up on the zen micro thats fine, i personally don't care if you're going to buy an ipod. for god sakes ipod isn't even the next alternati've mp3 players, theres plenty. I thank you for the response. Apple does some assinine things sometimes and this is one of them. Ask the planet the difference between a movie and a home video and with the exception of Apple, you'd get 100% consenus on the what difference is. A home video is something that I shoot, like my kids birthday party. A movie is something I urchased either via download or a DVD that I ripped. Unbelievable! The fact that Apple has chosen not to distinguish based upon which folder I tell it is Movies and which folder is Home Videos is really hard to fathom - sounds like something Windows would do. I find it funny that in my iTunes movies sub-section of the movies section, the movie icons have a cloud icon in upper right corner to distinguish it as bought from Apple iTunes versus no cloud icon for movies that I have ripped - so the distintion was already made and clearly visible. Now - everything just defaults to "home videos" if I try to import a new ripped DVD - why even bother to have this distinction on the iTunes bar? WOW!
As for your direction, I do not understand what you are telling me - what Media Kind and what Options tab are you referring to? I see no Options tab in iTunes. Right licking on the movie icon does not yield media kind or options as well. Gping to the source file does not yield these options either.

I am trying to update my iPod but I can't until I sync it. However when i try to sync it a message pops up and says "Blythes iPod" can not be synced because a session can not be started with this device. What do I do? Help!

Ah, it has been mentioned daily esp since iOS 5 / iTunes 10.5 but has always been there as an issue.
Order of attempts:
Repair the installers
Uninstall EVERY Apple component (auto and manual)
Services: Restart all 3 Apple items (AMS, Bonjour, iPod)
I* always do the last almost, then launch iTunes, and only then connect iPod.
IF you see a yellow alert in Devices and Printers or in Device Manager, then I could find NO WAY to fix or repair other than a clean OS. Something messed up the device driver support.
If/when Windows asks "what to do when it detects iPod"? don't chose any default action, to me, based on hunch and 3 PCs, that seems to mess AMS up for some reason.
Tried with Windows 7 64-bit Pro and Home Premium, and also Deve Preview 8 (which other than the inability to update iOS to 5.0 seems to run better -- except when it comes to AMS thing! so seems Apple is not on the same page writitng drivers. -
When I try to open Lightroom5 (creative cloud) I am taken to the Select Catalog screen but I have no catalogs and I am not being allowed to create new ones. What can I do to correct this?
This could be a read/write permissions issue with the destination folder for the catalog. Use your favorite search engine to search for changing disk permissions. What operating system are you using?

I have recently downloaded Bootcamp onto my MBP. However, when i try to expand it from "downloads" it says "Unable to expand BootCamp5.0.5033 into downloads. Error 2-no such file or directory. I have tried changing the partition and Zipeg. didnt work.
You need to read and follow the Boot Camp instructions. Boot Camp Assistant is already on your computer in the utilities forderf. You run Boot Camp Assistant. Part of the process is to to then download the Windows Support software. This download is then installed from within Windows.
There is no Boot Camp download that needs to be installed or unzipped from within OSx which you seem to be doing. -
I have backed up my iphone 3gs to i cloud as i want to restore to my iphone 5 the main item i want to keep is my text messages but it has not backed these up i have gone into settings on my iphone 3gs and into manage storage but there is no option to select to backup messages

I have experienced the exact thing. restore from itunes OR iCloud has successfully restored all my settings, EXCEPT EVERY-SINGLE-MSG. lol. Nothing. Even repeated it., no luck .
It seems to be a hit or miss.
I've read people from 3GS-i5, 4s-i5, not having the issue....meanwhile, you and I are lucky enough to have experienced it. Oh and also it's not across the board. Some people only lost certain SMS which weren't in their contacts...how odd? -
We forgot Apple password, changed it. I can't get into Apple but my wife can get into it on her iPhone 5s and we can get into it on the ipad but I can't on my 4S. Any suggestions?
