I purchased a movie on Apple TV and cannot find it on other Apple TVs in the house or on my ipad.  It says I have no purchases, but I was watching it yesterday.  The reception was so bad that I stopped and wanted to view it today.  It has a link to other movies I might like based on buying that movie so its strange it says I had no purchases.

Ok problem solved; signing out of iTunes account and signing back in solved it.

i figure it is the logic board. and no it has never been changed. yes i have the box, the code. i keep everything for situations just like these and somehow they still try to **** me over.
    Do this.
Go to the Apple Support page and type in your serial number. When the screen comes up showing that Serial number having Applecare extended warranty take a screen shot of it or Print it out to a PDF file and then Print a Hard Copy of either of those things. Take that with you when you take your Mac in to be looked at.
Good Luck with the Lenovo. I hear they are the same quality as when IBM was making them. Personally I have always used Dell Business Class notebooks and have never had any problems with them. Still have one that is going on 11 years old and it still runs as good as the day I bought it, actually a little better because I've upgrade the CPU, GPU. RAM and HDD.

  • Is anyone else have poor connectivity and bad reception with 3g and 4g with this phone?

3g and 4g connectivity is really poor! Has anyone heard that Verizon is working to fix this?

I had a similar experience.  Called tech support and the problem was resolved.  Not perfect but a vast improvement.

  • Has anyone noticed that when using a car charger it causes FM radio to have bad reception?

    This happens in both vehicles.

Ok.  I'll go with that.  Although both chargers were from the Verizon wireless store when I bought the iPhones.  Of course that doesn't mean anything.  Thanks.  I'll look in to getting a better one.

  • My 2008 MacBook Pro screen has now got interference across the whole screen. It looks similar to a pre-cable interference from bad reception. What is the problem here?

My 2008 MacBook Pro has interference across the full screen. It looks similar to a pre-cable TV screen with bad reception. Any idea of what the problem might be?

Took it to the Apple Store, they determined it's my screen that's messed up (they connected to another monitor, and since the lines didn't mirror onto the monitor it couldn't have been my GPU making the lines but rather the screen itself), so not connected to my wifi issue or a potential logic board issue, so I'm going to get my screen, wifi card, and trackpad (it's been failing too but that wasn't urgent at all) replaced for $330 using their flat-rate repair service which is much better than I imagined in terms of price.

  • I have a Nokia N97. I'm looking for a smartphone that is Blue tick approved for reception in rural Australia, which means only Telstra Next G. I would appreciate hearing about any smart phone with gd rural reception, and esp new versions of Android

There are reports of some 3G, or NextG ph's without a blue tick, with as good a reception as the blue ticks. This may include iphone, HTC Desire, and a new to Telstra shop Motorola Defy, that has a blue tick. Telstra staff are not able to give any information re upcoming models of smart phone + good rural reception

I was just having a look back at this post on the Q + A Session and had two thoughts:
    - Did Nokia ever address the questions that they deferred by saying they will get back to them later?
    - On Q9 the answer from the engineers that it was not an easy task to get Virtual RAM is a cop-out.
They admitted that the c: drive has memory paging and that this make apps run faster and smoother. That implies that apps installed on the mass memory won't run as fast or smoothly. I suspect that a lot of problems with apps are caused by being installed on the mass memory.
So where does that leave N97 owners, Nokia are very unlikely (like a snowballs chance in...) to recall N97s to have more memory fitted, so it goes without saying that Nokia should work on Virtual RAM from the Mass Memory as long as this can be accessed as fast as the c: drive (I don't know if this is even technically possible).
The decision to put such a small c: drive on the N97 was a terrible one, especially when you consider the position of this flagship device in relation to Nokia's move towards service with the Ovi Store and the additional overhead of the homescreen with widgets. Nokia all but acknowledged this by increasing the c: drive in the N97 mini. All I can hope is that Nokia have learnt from the bad publicity that this penny pinching exercise has caused and that whoever made the decision has either lost their job or been demoted to the most junior position in the company.
    Frustrated N97 owner.

  • Nokia 5800 - Bad GPS reception lately (maybe after...

    Hello,
When I first got the phone (about 3 months back), the GPS reception was fine. In buildings it didn't find sattelites, but when I was outside it was no problem. But lately the reception is really bad. Even when I'm outside and not in range of large buildings, my 5800 can only find a few sattelites.
I think it maybe is since I upgraded the firmware of my phone to v30, but I'm not sure.
Does anyone know what I can do about it? It's really annoying!
    Thank you all in advance

May be you have deleted the Maps data. Connect the phone to PC thru' USB and thru' Windows Explorer browse for the 'Cities' folder and the 'qf' files on the Phone / Memory card. Delete them. Now disconnect the phone and open Maps..and close them after some 20-30 seconds so  that the folder structure is recreated. Now connect the phone again and open Nokia Suite . Go to Maps in the Nokia suite and select the Maps you want to download / install.. and click the appropriate tab. Once installed you should be able to use the Maps once again ...

  • HELP! Airport reception SO bad

Help! Is anyone else getting really bad Airport reception. I have less than half the range than my macbook. I can be looking right at my base station (Negear B) and I'll get only 2 bars. Wondering if anyone else has this experience or if I need to exchange my unit. Thanks!!!!!

if you are using a Netgear B, the connection will be slower because you are serving up B speed, not G or N speed. Try getting a faster router...

  • Bad reception for voicemail - is it always the caller's fault?

I have received a voicemail that cuts in and out so that I can't hear the whole thing. Normally I would blame the caller, but the caller is an automated system that shouldn't have any reception problems (it wasn't somebody on a cell phone). And, I get bad AT&T reception in my room where I received the call.
Is it at all possible that the bad AT&T reception for my iPhone has resulted in my receiving less-than-clear voicemails?
I thought that voicemail was recorded and stored on the cell phone company's computers, which would prevent that problem. Is the iPhone an exception to this rule?
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well it is normally OK, but I haven't listened to enough voicemail to know for sure. I can only guess.
The iPhone eventually obtains its own local copy, which is why you can listen to visual voicemail even when you don't have reception. There are 2 ways this could happen:
    1. Voicemail is recorded directly on the iPhone, in which case reception at the time that you received the call would matter.
    2. Voicemail is recorded by AT&T and downloaded later, in which case reception would NOT matter assuming the download is over TCP/IP. However, it would matter if the download occurs over a normal phone signal (which I think is less likely).
Does anybody know what the architecture is?

  • New Ipad air is so bad at surfing on the internet, why does it not update the page as you scroll up ? Why is it so slow? Why do you have to use two fingers to scroll up sometimes is so anoying !!!

i dont want a discussing I want this fixed !!!

Well you could have asked if i had the last update, which i had not,so after updating to ios7.1 it seems to work much better now.
So the question is why did you write to to me ....? And look how many there are having had the same problems here, so it is not a unique case...
I did buy an ipad mini with retina first but it had even worse problem with scrolling and very bad wifi reception,so I took it back to the store and bought this ipad air instead....
It seems to be a difference between every ipad,so the stability of production of ipads is not really as it should be !

  • Bad reception on Droid Razr M, and on LG Spectrum

Just curious as to others opinions... I bought two phones, the razr m, and a samsung stellar I believe it was. We live in a spotty area of coverage in VA, but the stellar (my husbands phone works just fine). I however have been dropping calls, limited to no service... So verizon replaced my razr with a new one. It did the same thing. Then they replaced the sim card. Still did the same thing. Then they replaced the phone all together with a spectrum. It IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING. I am a little ****** that my husbands does not drop calls nor does he have the connection. I am thinking he has the stellar, but not sure. I know it is a smart phone. Why is this happening? And why is verizon giving me the run around about it as to the reception is bad, etc... If his works perfect, why isn't mine? Anyone else having this issue? I am sick and tired of having to call verizon everyday and personally I am thinking about cancelling.

        Good afternoon dcalvin33!
We don't want you to cancel, or even think of cancelling, and I completely understand your frustration! You should have "Stellar" service, just like your husband. Let's see what we can do to make that happen! When did you originally purchase the Razr, and how long have you had the Spectrum? Do you have this problem everywhere you go, or just in your home? Also, did the problems begin immediately? I'm curious if you're a heavier user than your husband with additional applications downloaded that may be causing the problems you have. If your husband is a lighter user and doesn't have a lot of applications downloaded, or certain applications downloaded, that may be why his phone works better. However, let's see some things. Please try placing your phone in Safe Mode for about 6 hours: http://bit.ly/TGxegM
Please keep us posted and let us know if this helps.

  • I want to get good wifi in my house . I currently have a time warner modem/router separate from my phone modem but my upstairs does not get good reception. What would be the best way to get the best wifi if I started from scratch

I have a combination modem/router from time warner that is separate from my phone line but I get bad reception on my apple tv an ipads upstairs in my house. I would like to fix this and want to know the best way to go about it . Whether getting two modems and routers or just one base station. Please help

It is possible to extend a WiFI network using Apple's Airport Express, Airport Extreme Base Station, or even a Time Capsule. However  the router that is creating the network (the one you have downstairs) must be configurable to permit another WiFi device to extend the network. All Apple WiFi routers can be configured that way, but there are many third party WiFi routers that cannot. The two routers can be connected wirlessly or by ethernet. From your description I suspect ethernet would be prefereable if yoiu had a good way of routing the cable.

  • Bad Airport reception and resetting SMC problem

    Hi,
I still have the bad Airport reception problem (see http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1088230&tstart=0).
I did a complete new erase and install with the discs I got with the computer (10.4.10). When I arrived in the Finder, Airport was completely gone. Nothing to see in the menu bar, nothing in SysPrefs, nothing in System Profiler.
I reset the SMC (shut down, remove power, remove battery, hold power key for 5 secs, install battery, connect to power, boot without pushing any keys). Now I got Airport back, although with the same bad reception.
As a bonus, I now have 2 extra problems:
    - when the computer goes to sleep after some idle time, it wakes up again within the second
    - rebooting gives me a black screen, no chime, caps key light doesn't work, sleep light is on but not flashing, hard drive is still spinning. Only option: hold the power key for several seconds until it shut downs and boot it again.
And by the way: all this after the Airport card has been replaced!
Any similar experiences, or even better: solutions?
    Thanks,
    Jef

    Hello,
I just received my MBP and I can't believe apple could keep ignoring this serious problem. I have a Dlink router and it works terrific with an old sony vaio but not with my brand new Mac!!! Actually my Airport detect several of the wireless networks around home including mine, but the signal indicator remains gray and the message:"there was an error joining the AirPort network "XXXXX" " is shown. What the **** are they doing at Apple? I use to be very confident about the quality of Macs but now ... Please Apple, stop being so arrogant and respect your costumers!!!! Provide a solution

  • Bad Reception, Muffled Bluetooth Voice, Crazy Proximity Sensors

I would like to start a new thread to summarize all major the problems of the iPhone 4. Apple has to either release a software update or just do a total recall for all iPhone 4 users. Consumers should NOT be responsible for the time they have wasted to troubleshoot the device, paying the restocking fee or buying a Bumper Case.
    1. Antenna: In spotty area mostly running 1900 MHz band, the iPhone 4 reception degrades until 1 to 0 bar when the hand or any conducting material has blocked the bottom left of the phone with a notch on the stainless steel antenna.
    2. *Muffled Bluetooth audio quality:* where the listener has no way to hear a clear voice at all beside a muffled voice with low volume when speaker is using a Bluetooth that is connected to the iPhone 4. It happens to various Bluetooth headsets on the market including the Jawbone, Jawbone Icon, Plantronics 925, Sony, Motorola, and more. The muffled sound does not occur consistently. Sometimes is clear, but most of the time bad.
    3. *Proximity Sensors:* Not sure if the sensor is located on top of the ear piece. During a phone call using the ear piece, people are experiencing trouble with the screen goes on and off and the face controlling the screen unintentionally which leads to hang up, mute, and other types of accidental operations.
These are critical issues that affect normal phone calls and iPhone 4 has failed to achieve anyone of them.

Really sorry to burst into your discussion, but I can't find any way of asking a question.
Like you, it's my first smartphone and I am really frustrated with it too. Am awaiting delivery of a new phone today due to its inability to connect to the internet or for me to get email.
But today's frustration is this and it's a really urgent query that I'm hoping someone can help me with quickly before the delivery man arrives.
Having spent all day Sunday getting my contacts sorted out, I'm nervous about losing them. So installed ovi suite this morning and apparently successfully to copy my contacts etc through content copier. It said it had saved them to
C:\Users\Karen\AppData\Roaming\Nseries\ContentCopier\2009-07-23Nokia N97 (2).nbu. However when I went to look for the folder AppData, it doesn't exist and I can't find it anywhere.
Any idea where it may have gone and what I can do to get my contacts onto my pc. I've tried going through the mass storage route on the phone, but then the folders that appear do not hold the contact details anywhere.
I am desperate (in so many ways ;-)
    Any help gratefully received

to see the Appdata folder on your pc you need to Show Hidden files and folders.
using windows XP (not sure about vista) goto My Computer. on the menu bar, select "Tools" then "Folder options", then "View". select the option that says "show hidden files and folders"
Another way to get the contacts from your phone is using PC Suite. Select the "Contacts" function in pc suite.
once this opens, highlight the contacts you want to copy and go to "File" and "export"
here you can export your contacts as a text file or as a csv file for that you can open in Excel etc.
