We have two users that have been using Creative Cloud for almost a year. Recently, sometime in the last 4ish weeks, the users can no longer run Creative Cloud apps. (Yes, our subscription is paid.) Error simply says administrator access is required to install. The apps have already been installed. The users cannot run them unless they are in the local admin group.Using "Run as admin" does not work. It gives the same error.
I have opened a case with adobe support and was basically told to suck it up and put the users in the admin group. Actually, what was said was that it is "mandated that the users have administrative rights".
There are a couple of things wrong with this. It was working for both users until recently - a recent required creative cloud update. The users have never been local admins yet the apps were working (poorly, but working).
We are in an enterprise environment and users simply do not have administrative rights on the computers.
I have changed permissions on all adobe folders, granting users or authenticated users modify or full control rights, did the same in whatever Adobe registry HKLM keys I could find. Nothing has allowed the users to run the apps - unless they are put in the local admin group.
Someone has to have a fix for this. Adobe apps have proved to have far too many vunerabilities to even entertain the idea of elevating user rights. I can't imagine that enterprise environments are allowing this.
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Jeff,
Thank you for your response. The users in question are "standard" domain users. We do not reduce users permissions below the standard level.
The apps do not load with their current standard user permissions.
The thing that makes this odd, is that up until recently they did this issue with cloud apps. The only way I can make it work for them now is to put them in the local administrator group on their pc's - which is not going to happen.
This is what they now see. As I said before, this was not a problem up until recently they would see all their available apps. If I put them in the local admin group the apps are listed without having to install. Everything is there, just not accessible to the user.

  • Creative Cloud member wants to publish multi-folios for a client...

    Hello everyone,
I did send this question as a"private message" first and did receive some answers that I would like to share here. Big thank you to both Himanshu and Bob!!!  If someone feels like adding more info regarding the subject please do.
"I’m the Adobe Creative Cloud member (one year subscription) and as such I’m entitled to publish a Single Edition app through my Digital Publishing Suite. Now, I have just been approached by one printed magazine, here in Vancouver, Canada, and I’m suppose to provide them with an estimate for adapting their publication for the iPad. Before I start thinking about my fee I would like to know what we have to pay to Adobe. They have four issues per year and I guess this goes under multi-folio applications category. Now, the questions:
    1. Can I prepare the folios with my Creative Cloud membership or I have to upgrade to Professional edition of the DPS?
    2. Does my client need to purchase the Professional Edition of DPS or not?
    3. Or, we need only one license of the Professional Edition and if so who’s is that license going to be?
    4. Or, I’m talking nonsense and you can just explain me how this works, please?
    Have a wonderful day."
    Regards,
    Dragan, Vancouver
    Himanshu Singh :
You would need to upgrade to DPS Professional Edition for multi Folio Applications. DPS Pro is $495 per month + taxes. Also you have download fees applicable. You get 250 free downloads per month for the first year and  for any additional downloads, you need to purchase Folio Bundle. Approximately, each Folio Download will cost you $ .30, so you can charge you client that amount per folio download + DPS Pro contract fees.
If your Customer purchases DPS Pro, you can read this article to know how to work with them : http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/customer-a gency-dps-workflows.html
    Now regarding your questions.
    1. Can I prepare the folios with my Creative Cloud membership or I have to upgrade to Professional edition of the DPS?
You need DPS Pro for creating Multi-Issue Applications. With CC, you can create Built in single apps. For Magazine with at least 4 issues per year, it’s best to go for Pro edition.
    2. Does my client need to purchase the Professional Edition of DPS or not?
Either you or your client can purchase DPS Pro depending upon your contract with the client. You Client needs to get themselves Apple iOS Developer account.
    3. Or, we need only one license of the Professional Edition and if so who’s is that license going to be?
    4. You need one DPS Pro Contract. You can create unlimited number of apps and account using one License.
    Bob Bringhurst :
In this case, I believe that your client would need to pay for DPS. Have you seen the DPS Getting Started Guide? There's a section about understanding IDs and roles.
    http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/digital-publishing- suite-family/pdfs/dps-getting-started-guide-april.pdf

Priceless man, thank you so much!
Have a wonderful day, and if you need anything, just let me know
    Kind regards,

  • Download touch apps as a Creative Cloud member

What is the process of downloading the adobe touch apps as a Creative Cloud member without paying for them again in the app store?

    Hi there!
The following is one creative's feeling on this rather niggling issue.
I am a Creative Cloud subscriber and an 'adobe creative suite'*  customer for almost 20 years . * (in all its incarnations)
I'm from Australia where we have consistantly been charged hundreds of dollars more for each and every product, and each and every update untill just recently when our government bought Adobe to their knees over Creative Cloud Subscriptions and forced them to offer us Aussies the same deal that those of you in the US enjoy. (though the full software prices remain an absoloute rout.)
Here in Australia Adobe have a history of charging us a lot extra because they can and the matter at hand is just another example of the same greedy mindset.
Seeing that there have been 564 views on this subject I feel that there is a issue that needs to be addressed here apart from the false or misleading advertising of the Adobe touch apps and wether they are or are not a part of Creative Cloud.
I believe the real question that we are, or should be, asking ourselves is, WHY SHOULD Creative Cloud subscribers BE REQUIRED TO PAY FOR THESE TOUCH APPS when access to the total range of adobe professional level software is all included in the subscription.? For what reason (other than greed) would the little apps be set apart from the rest?
Apps which obviously from their conception were always meant....
a- to be an integral part of the adobe creative cloud workflow
b - and specifically developed to sync directly to our creative cloud accounts
c - to create files which are seamlessly accessed by multiple adobe creative cloud software products across both desktop and portable operating systems.
These apps are not new concepts sitting appart from Adobe's Creative Cloud suite of products.
These apps are the 'touch' or portable counterparts or support apps to the Creative cloud software products for which we pay our subscription.
They are another way , a portable adaptation, of doing the same work we have always done at our desks. (PS they have a long way to reach their potential ).
Bottom line.........They should be available free!
In my opinion the existing situation is just a VERY BAD CUSTOMER RELATIONS EXERCISE.
Any way you look at it it is annoying and upsetting your customers (especially those who are already paying dearly for your service), is just bad for business.
Adobe have already made Adobe Ideas free and they should simply bite the bullet and make photoshop touch etc free also, at least fro Creative cloud subscribers.
Reading the justifications in defence of charging us for these apps is just semantics at best and at worst just plain insulting our custom, our committment & our loyalty.
Afterall we are speaking about $10.49 AU for photoshop touch, and a couple of dollars each for the other supporting mini apps.
Come on Adobe get your act together, In times past we have paid thousands of dollars year after year, for update after update, but at least we owned the software at the end of the day.
Now you have asked us to trust in you by paying for access to use your software on a subscription basis ( heaven help anyone if for some reason we cant afford the payment one month, can you immagine? we can no longer open our files or do any work ) and in spite of this we are still following your lead and moving forward with you.
So I ask that you please dont reward our loyalty by starting to gouge us now with these silly attempts at just making an extra few bucks out of us. It's very sad and quite frankly it's the principal of the matter that bugs me.
All these areguments on behalf of Adobe, like the reply quoted below from David_B " from Adobe staff, in my opinion, only serve to frustrate.
Afterall, doing something just because you can, and because you have the right to, doesn't make it right and doesn't make it good for business.
I think in this day and age if you have no respect for your customers and if you dont show them that they are valued, sooner or later we will just start to walk the other way.
Free services like GIMP are not  inferior alternatives, more likely just speed bumps that most of us chose to avoid right now but for how long?
I've read so much about great business practicess, about not only having great products but having great customer service and the rule seems to be that to retain your customers loyalty one should always give more than the customer expects. In this instance something just feels wrong, not a good result I think.
So I'm obviously passionate about this subject and I hope I've made my point, and for those who have been kind enough to read this far , thank you for your time : )
There is a saying " opinions are like ******, everyone has one!.......  so what is the good of my rave if there is no FOLLOWUP ACTION?
If there is anyone out there who might know how we might get ourselves heard in a way that Adobe might take us seriously I'd love to hear some ideas.
Right now all I have is a bad taste in my mouth. >: P
I await to be shown that I am wrong about Adobe's attitude towards us.

I agree that the messaging could be clearer.
It does state that they are sold separately on the product page for Creative Cloud here"
But if you happened to miss this info before joining its confusing. We are in the process of improving the way they are labelled in the Download Center.
    Sorry for the confusion

  • Adobe Extension Manager does not recognize me as a Creative Cloud Member.

I'm unable to activate several new extensions, particularly 2 of the paper textures.  Adobe Extension Manager says I have to be a Creative Cloud member.  I am. And I"m logged in.

    Hi KylieSabra,
Did you acquire your extensions from Adobe Exchange? If yes, when the extension is to be installed, Extension Manager will check if the current user has purchased this extension( for paid extensions ). Then Adobe Application Manager might pop up to let the user input his accout --- adobe id, which is what you got.
    Thanks,

I am a long-term user of Lightroom as a standalone product with a perpetual licence. As a retired person on limited income, it is very disappointing to me that Adobe have introduced the 'Creative Cloud' (CC) subscription service in order for me to be able to continue upgrading this excellent product. It will be for me too expensive at the minimum cost of £9 per month. The additional services that CC brings are personally of no relevance or usefulness. Adobe should be prepared to support existing users who are, like myself, non commercial, amateur photographers by giving them the simple opportunity to upgrade to Lightroom 6 as a standalone, perpetual licence product. As a member of a camera club I know my co-members who use Lightroom are equally disappointed by this move to a subscription-only service.

That is possible, John, but it is only speculation on your part. Might, not will.

There is a "Lightroom 6" upgrade available for US $79 if you have a valid license for any of the earlier versions. From what I can tell, the only difference between Lightroom 6 Full, Lightroom 6 Upgrade and LightroomCC is in the license. The download file is the same.
Other differences - with CC you get LrMobile/LrWeb and they throw in a free copy of Photoshop too.
Yes, but when I bought my standalone license and clicked on the "Download" button it took me to the LightroomCC page. The downloaded file is named Lightroom 6, but in the CC app the installed program is LightroomCC (2015).

I am a new Indesign user and a Creative Cloud member.  I was using the Window/Pages drop down window to view my pages alphabetically or by page number and also to determine whether or not my JPEG files were sufficiently HI-Res for the printer.  I don't know how I did it but somehow the window has changed so that now it does not have the alphabetical/numerical/Hi-Res information.  It just shows the pages in a two page spread in numerical order.  How can I restore the window so that I will be able to view the information as I did previously.
    Your help will be appreciated,

  • Why when I have an annual Creative Cloud subscription am I repeatedly asked to login to authenticate

Why when I have an annual Creative Cloud subscription am I repeatedly asked to login to authenticate the subscription - sometimes twice, three times during a single product session usage? It's really out of control with Acrobat Pro where I am routinely asked to agree to a trial subscription. Why, I have a full subscription?? Almost everytime I open a PDF file, I am asked to sign-in - this is a huge time burner and completely ridiculous! This new subscription model is extremely frustrating to deal with day in and day out - please fix this mess.

I have been having this same problem for the past few weeks.  I ran the subscription with no problems since August of 2013. I agree this is time consuming and frustrating. It has now started to do it with illustrator too.  I am not sure if it started when I updated.
I thought I solved the problem last weekend, when I removed an old trial version.  However, I didn't exit Photoshop because it was having this problem and I didn't want to deal with it. My computer updated and restarted and the problem is occuring again.

  • Fee for publishing folios/apps as Creative Cloud member?

I am a Creative Cloud member and want to take 2 or 3 magazines I design online and make them into apps. I know I have to pay Apple a $99 yearly developer fee but is there any fee I need to pay Adobe? It's confusing becuase with my Creative Cluod Membership it says "Design and submit an unlimited number of iPad apps" so can I make the 2 or 3 magazines into apps each month and pay nothing since I am a Creative Cloud Member or does making each magazine/folio into an app costs $395?...that seems like a cost no small publisher can afford each month.

There is no extra fee that you need to pay Adobe. If you are a Creative Cloud member and you maintain your Apple $99 yearly developer fee, you can submit as many iPad apps as you want.
Check the Apple guidelines for app approval. Apple doesn't automatically approve of any submitted app. For more information, see the Step-by-Step Publishing Guide.
