  • How do you restore iphone 4S if you have been locked out?

How do you restore iphone 4S if you have been locked out?

I am totally stupid here, can anyone speak plain english???  It is not accepting the ONE PASSCODE that i created.  This all happened after i upgraded to the fricken latest whatever they say we need to do. This is the first time in over a year of having this phone that this has happened.
I tried to follow posts and connected to my computer with i tunes.  The computer did it's thing and i am still locked out.  Other than throwing this fricken phone and getting an android, what do i do and please, i am not up to all your jargon so you have to really spell it out for me.
    Thank you
Very frustrated and aggravated since i upgraded to that ios stuff, the phone was just fine before that.

  • HT3228 How do I reestablish hotmail delivery to my iPhone and iPad after I have been locked out?  I have reestablished service to my PC, but cannot get email on other devices, even after updating to new passwords.

How do I reestablish hotmail delivery to my iPhone and iPad after I have been locked out?  I have reestablished service to my PC, but cannot get email on other devices, even after updating to new passwords.

Sometimes it is fruitless to try to "fix" a broken account on an iOS device. I would delete the account on both devices and then configure the account again from scratch.

  • TS2446 I can not remember my security question answers so I have been locked out what do I do?

I can not remember the answers to my security questions so I have been locked out. They wanted me to answer them because I am using a new computer.

Check the AppleCare number for your country here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
Call them up, and let them know you would like to be transferred to the Account Security Team.

How do I reset the answers to my security questions. I lost mine and have been locked out due to too many failed attempts. I tried every thing I could find through apple support, nothing worked. I cant buy apps for my new phone with out fixing this

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form. There's also a link to do so in the Additional Information section of the article you asked this question from.

Forgotten Passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device

  • I have been locked out of my iTunes account. How do I unlock it?

Upon purchasing an album on iTunes, security questions were asked. I could not remember one of the questions and tried multiple times to get it right. I never did. Then, I was locked out of my iTunes account and cannot purchase anything. I remember the answer to the question now but it won't let me try to answer it anymore.

  • Is there a way to find out if someone was locked out of my iphone due to multiple incorrect password entries?

Yesterday, I lost my iphone and searched for hours. I found it in the middle of the highway (I'm lucky that I found it and I am lucky that all it suffered was a broken screen). I wanted to find out if someone had tried to access my phone and could not figure out the password. At this point, it is just a curiousity thing. I thought maybe there was a way to find out if my iphone had been locked due to multiple incorrect password entries. Is this possible?
    Thanks!

There is a way.  You can download iPhone Configuration Utility http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1465 and from there, when you connect your iPhone to your Mac / PC, you will be able to view the logs.
I've just connected mine and tested by keying in the wrong code a couple of times, this shows up in the log:
    Desc   : Wrong passcode.
    US Desc: Wrong passcode.
    Domain : MCPasscodeErrorDomain
    Code   : 5011
    Type   : MCFatalError
Along with other things.  So this may be something you could check to see how many times someone has tried to access your device.

-Options for when an iOS device gets locked because of forgotten password-
Restore (and reset password) on your device by connecting it to the last computer to which it was connected:
iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring iOS software - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you cannot connect it to the computer to which the device was last connected you will have to use recovery mode to completely reset the device, losing all data:
iOS: Unable to update or restore - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 - recovery mode (e.g., cannot connect to computer last used to sync device)
