I have been on hold for over 2 hours!

 I haven't had HD channels for 3 days.  I have refreshed my set-top box multiple times.  This is ridiculous!  I will switch back to Comcast this weekend if I don't get resolution to this problem.

two things that you can try while waiting that sometimes helps when just missing a few channels.
Disconnect the coax from the stb and then reconnect it. A poor connection here can cause some channels not to show up or have tiling.
Then go into Menu-->Customer Support-->Settop box auto correction.
This will reset and refresh all the stb's. With any luck that will take care of the issue.

    Now whenever I press the mail icon it goes to the mail app for about 4 seconds, does nothing, no loading of folders, old messages, nothing.

    "Improperly" means by any other means other than using the respective Adobe Uninstallers in Applications/ Utilities/ Adobe/ ….
    For instance, if you dragged anything to the trash.  That would have been improper starting with CS3.  Previous versions could be trashed, but no more.
    If that was the case you need to look for the CS3Clean and CS4Clean scripts on the Adobe site, download them and run them.

    The Verizon Service just keeps getting worse and worse. The Service is mediocre to say the least. I am constantly having connection issues in my area. Random boots, PS4 wont connect, even though I have 100% connectivity. I constantly have to call an argue because I find random charges, on my bill. Never had I been more frustrated with doing business with a company. I have to say they are the absolute worst. And to get out of a contract with them, They are going to charge me ETF fees. Thats ok verizon I am going to go on every review site I find and report how absolutely terrible your customer service and internet is. You guys are a straight rip off. 

    So I finally hang up after waiting for 45 minutes. I recalled and used billing customer service and explained to the operator that I just waited for 45 minutes and I would please like to speak to some one in technical service. So what does she do... She connects me to the same exact number that I just sat and waited on. I literally just explained that I wasted 45 minutes waiting and requested that I directly be transfered. VERIZON you  WORK FOR ME, I DONT WORK FOR YOU!!! REFUND all the times I have I have sat on hold, Waiting for your foreign customer service reps!

    I went onto the apple store app, it at least let me reserve an iPhone and will send an email when apple can talk to Verizon to finalize the order. It's not a perfect solution but at least it's something that I have one reserved! Worked on the website for over an hour and because I get 25% off my calling plan through my company I kept getting an error.

    Most interesting reply and I certainly appreciate the sample illustration -- it's most helpful. However, I have this effect enabled and what happens is quite odd. Let me explain a little better as maybe I didn't word it correctly. Here's what occurs...
    1- Before the slide transitions to the next slide, it becomes fuzzy (not part of the transition itself which comes after)
    2- After the fuzziness the slide sort of notches upward a hairline before the transition. Thus, here it is: Normal Slide > Fuzziness > Notch > Transition > Normal Slide -- repeats.
    Side Note: I noticed on my daughter's DVD player, the side would do the above, but would know go a step further. the imposed soundtrack would actually pause for a split second (in addition to the above) before the transition itself.
    I called mac and was offered some studio 4 pro, and when I looked at the price I almost fainted ($999.99) which is quite steep for me and certainly more software than I need. That said, I'm looking into iMovie as an alternative (iDVD would have been great and fast on the work-flow), but I need to come up with a system using my Mac as I may have a wedding coming within the next several months. Before I offer this service, I need to learn the Mac (which I love) and the software of choice. I went to a local book store and purchased this book:

    i received a bill today for $526.  i called 2 times, the first woman was putting me thru to the finance department, i went back in the loop.  the second woman i spoke to said i needed to contact my bank because they did not receive my payment made on 4/23 and that my bank would have to contact them to verify the payment.  i called my bank, they told me i needed the fax number of verizon and they would send them a proof of payment.  i called verizon back and was on hold for 64 minutes waiting for the billing department.  i called from a different line, got thru immediately and spoke to Michael.  When i asked michael to speak with a supervisor, he laughed at me and told me he was not going to waste his supervisor's time with my phone call???!!!!!!!  ARE THEY CRAZY????!!!!!  Is this the way customer service is supposed to treat people???!!!!  i am ready to have a stroke.

    Of course they tried it and so did every developer it was seeded to, which is why so many millions of users are having no issues with the install. If Preview etc. are not working for you, then something seems to have gone wrong during your install. It may well be hardware related or related to third party programs you already have installed. Perhaps anti-virus or other third party maintenance programs? Or perhaps your system itself has been in dire need of repair and the update has simply triggered or magnified the underlying problem. I would be backing up immediately and performing a clean install after checking the condition of your HD before blaming an update that most users have had no issues with. (Note, you will see people with issues here as it is a troubleshooting Forum, so it may look a common problem. The millions of others have no issues thus never come here).
