I installed Lion a few months ago - possible reason? I receive everything from surveys to dating proposals to free product trials. I also feel that my calendar is vulnerable since I'm losing entries, i.e. can't find appointments I know were in my calendar. Is this connected? HELP!

I just downloaded the newest reconfigured version of iTunes, and for the first time ever my content is all screwed up. Specifically, all of my playlists are gone, so are my apps. The good news is that my music library is intact and that I've got more than one device with everything as it should be on them; the bad news is that my PC does not recognise my devices and keeps defaulting to " lets sync your devices to this new computer loose all of the playlists I've spent years compiling". I don't get it. Any ideas?

Norton antivirus says my licence have expired when switch my computer on for the first time.
I just bought new touchsmart 520-1002 ru (LN649EA). It had norton antivirus preinstalled when i started it for the first time. After few hours of working antivirus informed me that the licence have expired. But before it was like 60 days. What to do? I'm affraid of sirfing the web without antivirus protection. Welcome to HP's forum and your new computer. Nothing to worry about. That was a trial verson. What ever time limit they gave it has expired. I think you miss read it It flashes a reminder all the time. You can still use your computer. Until you purchase or install an anti virus software. The only thing Norton will not do is up date it's self but it will still scan your computer when you open it up and click scan. Try to get anti virus software. Titanium Maximum 2012, McAfee, and Norton are the top choices to choose from. Try to stay a way from the real cheep ones like Kerpsky that will not protect your computer. My freind installed Kerpsky asked to fix his lap top. Well I did fix it first thing I did was get it on line and run Trend House Call it found over 250 different virus. Some of the worst ones I had to manually removed. Trend House call is a free scan. Trend.com are the one who make Titanium Maximum Security 2012.
You just bought this computer Mac's are great computers but you are very limited to what you can do on them. This one will last you for a very long time ounce we get the bugs out it. My Touchsmart 600-1050 is going strong going into it's third year now. Just had it's frist full recovery done now my computer runs faster and much better then when I first bought it. Yes I had some minor issues fixed on it at first like anything you buy today is not perfect HP covored it all during the one year warranty. My recovery was performed because I picked up a new virus that no anti virus on the market could delete it had to be manually delete it but to much damaged was caused in the operating control software. Otherwise I would be still using Oginal set up. -
I have a 64 gig second gen iPad mini that I updated to iOS 8.2 yesterday with no initial problems. You're probably thinking all's good right? Wrong.
All was good until about an hour ago. When I saw a text notification on the lock screen I swiped right thinking that it wouldn't act any differently from the countless other times that I've done that same action...little did I realize that it would lock up once unlocked. To clarify, when I say "locked up" I mean frozen with nothing on the screen except for the basic design of Messages.Not experienced an issue with my iPad Mini, and I've been running iOS 8.2 since it came out.
What troubleshooting have you tried since the device froze? Is it still froze? First step would be to try and power off the device. If that does not help, then perform a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The device will reboot, and it will have no affect on your data. That should correct things, but if it doesn't, then the next steps are a restore from backup, and if necessary a restore as new. -

Some kernel updates (I386 on my case), and my first question is: "How do I update this? Is it safe to be the first thing to be done?" Is it only copy to the Run directory (usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\exe\run)?
Also a component BC-FES-IGS has some updates, but I don't know what is this and how to update. (it says: Installation for SAP IGS integrated in SAP Kernel igsexe_16-10003071.sar)
All the rest (SAPK* files), seems to be normal patches that is possible to use spam to update them. Correct?

As SolMan is a dual stack machine, you can use JSPM to update the kernel. Another way is to extract the Kernel SAR files into the exe\run directory. It is a best practice to update the kernel before the support packages. Take a backup of the existing exe directories before you update the kernel and also pay good attention while downloading the kernel. you need to take care while choosing the correct version of the kernel (either 32 bit or 64 bit and ITANIUM or XEON). If you choose the wrong kernel, then ur SAP system will not come up.
Also a component BC-FES-IGS has some updates, but I don't know what is this and how to update. (it says: Installation for SAP IGS integrated in SAP Kernel igsexe_16-10003071.sar)

Yes!!! You may have to update the latest SPAM/SAINT (SAPKD700*) before updating the SP's.

Support Packs can be updated using SPAM and the add-on upgrades has to be done using SAINT.

Setting up Mail for the first time with OSX Server 10.5.6
I just got done reading the 100+ page mail services administration manual. A few things are unclear and I wanted to clear those up prior to embarking on my first adventure configuring mail services.
The questions I have are the following:
1. When using mail for incoming and outgoing, do I 'have' to use local DNS services or can I simply change the MX records by my DNS Provider?
2. I have more than one IP on the server using the 'IP Alias' command. Will the mail server be able to distinguish the different mail domains base on IP Address, or will virtual domains need to be configured?
3. If virtual domains need to be configured, is this configuration simple or is it semi complex?
4. Provided the answer to questions two and three, what is the best configuration for the firewall settings on the server? Allow IMAP inbound, POP3, and SMTP? What else?
Thanks in advance1. Mail service relies heavily on DNS. You may run your own DNS servers on the same network as your mail server or you can use a DNS provider to host your zone data including your MX record.
2. Your server will listen on all available network devices by default. It will only accept those messages for the hosts that are listed in the general pane, the local host list, or the virtual domain list under the advanced pane. No virtual domains need to be configured if all users are real users (i.e. shows up in WorkGroup Manager).
3. As stated in (2), you do not need virtual domains to receive e-mail for multiple hostnames or domain names, but you may want to do so if you want separate accounts with same usernames for different domains. E.g. [email protected] and [email protected] will go to two separate inboxes. It's not that difficult, but rather tedious if you already have a lot of e-mail accounts set up.
4. You must allow SMTP through the firewall to receive mail from the outside world. Depending on your clients, you may open IMAP or POP. There are no other specific ports necessary for mail to work at this level... except for Submission (587). Many ISP's block port 25 for mail clients. You may want to use port 587 for submissions so that your mobile users don't have to switch back and forth between the two ports when they change locations. This is done by editing /etc/imapd.conf manually. -
I have been trying all day to access gmail on mozilla. I installed, uninstalled, and re-installed Firefox and I keep getting the same warning whenever I try gmail. All other sites function perfectly.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again. -
Had an i-pod nano and downloaded some albums for my wifew 3 years ago. Lost it! Now I have an i-pod touch. When I started to play an old song, I could hear blank spaces in the music. The PC and the I-pod both have the same errors. My purchase history apparently doesn't go back that far. I'd just like to fix the song, and learn how to deal with this issue in the future.
First, Get Info on the track to confirm which iTunes Store account the track was purchased through. It may have been purchased via another account which would explain why it doesn't appear in your Purchased list in the iTunes Store.
If you confirm that you're looking in the correct account but the track isn't appearing, then after all this time there may not be anything you can do other than repurchase the track, but go here:

and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

I may have to carry a balance, for the first time ever
I have never carried a balance on my credit cards before (other than two accidental late payments, one in 2008 and one in 2009). I had to take my boyfriend to the emergency room on two occaisions a couple of weeks ago, and today, we got the bills (insert scary music here). As soon as I saw the bills, I called the hospital, knowing that they have a discounted rate if you pay your full balance soon after the date of the bill. I was able to score a 25% discount, but had to pay it then. I put it on my Discover It card, which has a 0% promo interest rate for a while (since I just got the card in April). I could have paid it out of my emergency fund, but I thought it would be just as easy to do it this way. What do you guys think? Boyfriend will just make the payments to me and I will pay off the balance as he pays me. I know it will get paid, since we have lived together for nearly a decade and he has never not paid me back for anything, but I am still a little unsettled about carrying a balance. I assume I will see a drop in scores temporarily for utilization. Can I expect any other side affects from this?

That said, unless you were paying the card down to 0 prior to report date it was reporting a balance even if you were paying in full. Payments made after the report date but by the due date do not reduce the reported balance since the balance had already reported. You can do the utilization math to see how much your overall and individual utilization would change but we can't tell you that you'd see an impact of X points. You'll lose your grace period but if you have 0% on purchases that doesn't matter. If you were subject to interest you'd have to deal with residual interest even after paying it off. However, neither of those directly affect score. The impact would be to utilization. "Utilization has no memory" is quite often stated here but bucketing is possible and it does happen to some. I let Firefox update this weekend. Since then, when visiting Facebook and a couple other sites, the scrolling is very jumpy. This was not happening before the update, but it is very irritating. I've tried clearing the cache, but it didn't work for this issue. Any fix available?

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window (''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux) as follows:
#* In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options'' for Windows or ''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux.
